You guys really lived up to your name, out of the millions if not billions of people who were locked down and locked up during the pandemic you guys were still free and sailing, not necessarily by choice but certainly had a big adventure and gained a lot of experience along the way on how to survive out at sea during a pandemic. Trust me when i say this, firstly your the first sailing channel/ video i came across recommended by you tube and secondly the reason i got hooked was Peter's great ability to captivate and entertain the audience with narrative, not to mention his the only guy on here that really knows how to sail.. love it when he talks about the technical aspects of sailing eg winds, currents, anchoring etc etc etc.. learn a lot from this channel about sailing.

The most entertaining channel, As a sailor myself this guy knows his stuff.
Most cruisers would be totally lost or in panic during the same situations, he seems a bit off, but he has a plan for everything and is extremely clever.

The problem is Plucky is an acquired taste, and why so many will by-and-by fall off.
While with the USAF I had the extreme good luck to run a little, with a bunch of Aussie AF guys in Thailand. It took me a about 3-6 weeks to catch on to the Aussie ways and style of humor. It's a polished gallows humor. Learning how it's applied has saved me years and miles of undue grief in the process along while living my life.
(Yes also late to the party here as well..) Sadly Puckey and the love of his life have parted company. I think his love of the sea and her unrelenting seasickness was the deal breaker there for them, complicated by very opposite personalities.. as it were.
I'd be willing to bet money if he gave up sailing completely (at least in single hull boats) she'd find a way to give it another go - provided she hasn't completely moved on with another dude in Portugal, and that he could manage to convince her of his absolute sincerity, despite his Aussie mannerisms, and that very dark gallows humor which works against it. English isn't her 1st language so a lot slips by,, and he's Plucky.. I don't think she gets his Aussie ways, although I think she loves him deeply, and he her. Sad!
On another channel he expressed his deepest sorrow about letting her slip away from his grasp (it's very complicated and hard to sort out with the very complex happenstance). And he's not the same with other his 'crew members' which he's signed-on since. I think he wants them all to be fully 'seaworthy' first, before he let's go and commits to any new relationship. It's just very messed up.

I was just telling another one of your damn fine fellow country men how under represented you guys are (Swedish people) as our audience...it is damn outrageous that Denamrk with half the population is double your numbers...I even had a Lisa from Sweden on my old boat....I think we need to do something about it...for my part I will try to do something Swedish people will like...you better help me with that one, and you need to tell every one in Sweden about us ...ok that's a bit much maybe 6 people then...deal?

Thanks Sweden and Marcus...I sent a msg to another one of your fine countrymen and told him that a great country like Sweden is under represented in our audience, I checked the stats when I saw his name you see...that just cannot be I thought so I checked again and yes a country as great as yours is only at 0.6%...I think we need to do something about it and put your name in highlights where it should belong...what do you reckon? Maybe you should start spreading the name around there so we don't have to have this embarassing situation again.....I tell you what I will continue with the movies and you tell your friends and other sailors and maybe lie just a little bit and say we are sort of OK....and I will keep making movies...deal? How could anyone give you two a thumbs down is beyond me. I am a Kansas boy and had the awesome experience to live in Key West at the ages of 13 and 14. It was of the most amazing experiences of my life. Abandoned at 13 in Kansas and ended up in paradise. Lobster and shrimp almost every day. Never went hungry. The people on TV shows like survivers have no idea how to scoop up shrimp right along the beach with a net when the sun goes down. Lobster for the taking fish galore. Wish I was anchored off shore in a sailboat is where I want to be

With the Covid, we have been stuck in Huatulco (southern tip of Pacific Mexico), waiting for Central America to open up (all the countries south of here are still closed). It's now four months since we did any cruising. Watching your video reminded me as to how much we both sailing. Maybe we will see you soon.

The problem is non of the different “theys” have any way of confirming three things; what, where, and for how long, so new quarantine for all.
Well it looks like Fiji is applying some common sense to the matter, hopefully other countries will too

- If their journey to Fiji will take 14 days or longer uninterrupted at sea, once they dock in Fiji and show proof of a negative test result, everyone on board will be screened by the Ministry of Health for symptoms. When I eventually get out there I don't want a fridge and want to live as far off grid as I can get. Of all the channels I watch your channel is as near as perfect how I want to live.

So glad to hear that you two have a place to stay for a while because this virus stuff isn't going away anytime soon. The RUclipsrs "The Nomadic Movement" from the U.S.A. bought land Boquete Panama, and they're building a tiny home there. Not sure how far you two are from Boquete but they also have a little coffee company there so they know people there.

I have had a two finches come aboard like that. In 1990 I was bringing a 53' motorsailor from Ocho Rios to Lauderdale when one came aboard about 50 miles west of Great Inagua. Poor little guy was exhausted. He even flew into the cabin then came out and perched on the pedestal. When we got within easy range of Cape Santa Maria he took off, never to return. The other time was heading south through Bahamas to Turks and Caicos. He came aboard many miles from Mayaguana and stayed with us to Grand Turk.

Love your channel man. As an American, I can't get enough of all things Australian. I'm not really sure why. Just love the accents and their country. Would love to visit one day. Thanks Bubba H, maybe you like the Ozzie spirit?...and I am not a typical Ozzie, although maybe I will get there someday...the true Ozzie spirits I read about in the war and I really can't do justice to describing it in a paragraph or 2 here but I will try....when all the chips were down, faced against overwhelming odds, with death everywhere, they had a way of looking at the situation in a different way, almost in a lighthearted way and with a joke or 2 later they somehow persevered.

I remember when I was sailing, that all electronics run on smoke. As long as the smoke stays inside the unit they usually work fine. It is when you let the smoke escape that they fail. I had the smoke escape from an autopilot and a VHF radio. Neither worked afterwards
That's an interesting theory....what if you lit a cigarette and blew the smoke back in
@@SAILINGintoFREEDOM Didn't try that. I lived aboard a Hunter 31 for 12 yrs on the NC coast awaiting retirement. Only did coastal sailing (not a bluewater boat :( but a lot of fun). I really enjoy your experiences. Thanks for posting
