Dude I gotta say I respect your perspective on these. There are so many “glamtubers” putting out videos just for the clicks and they just feel like paid advertising. It feels like you don’t give two F’s about getting paid for clicks and more about giving honest and real world scenarios that we need to see. This series of videos helped me greatly in making my purchase of the avata. Thanks for being honest and original.
I am not impressed by all these RUclips professional reviewers who claim their unswayed by the manufacturer giving them thousands of dollars in free equipment then say it doesn’t influence them I think that’s BS. they know that if they don’t say the right things that the freebies and their position on the pecking order will be severely impacted. I think most of them are actually auditioning for more free equipment so they can keep your channels going.
So good to finally ditch the GoPro for flying! These are all very strong features you mentioned! This buy and fly FPV is a killer!

I picked up one too and now i am so happy i can bring both my conventional drone (Mavic 3) and this fpv for my travels , I wouldn’t change that for anythg, feeling mobile is just amazing!
Flew mine yesterday. Love how portable is it, don’t have to baby it. Paired it with my FPV controller, wish it came w/ one. Kinda miss the gimbal from the mini pro 3. Love your reviews. You give the no bullshit, no hype honest reviews. Keep up the great work.

I still hate that you can’t just buy the Avata w/ the Sport controller in a single package. You either buy the entire package w/ the goggles and the sport controller separately, or you buy the avata stand alone, buy the sport controller, but your SOL as you won’t get the goggles. What a poor move on DJI’s part.
The goggles will be sold as a stand alone for about $569. Some retailers already have them listed. DJI is initially marketing towards a different group for the first rollout. Everyone doesn't need to buy everything on day one. It's not a permanent thing...

They are trying to attract new entrants to this space. Those people have none of what's needed. When you only have enough production capacity to meet your anticipated new entrants, you cater to them first.

1. Drone only, nothing else.
2. Drone w/ "flight stick" and older goggles.
3. Drone w/ "flight stick" and newer goggles.
4. Drone w/ FPV controller and newer goggles.
Let the people who want the controller get the controller, let the people who want the flight stick get the flight stick. There's no reason they couldn't have at least done this.
Ken, thx again for your honest comments. I ordered the stand alone unit, as I have the djifpv. Although ive never used manual mode with fpv, i definitely will be doing so with the Avata. I do see a few negatives about it, but i expect your coming comments will be covering mine. Great job.

Thanks for all of your reviews on the Avata, after watching several of your videos, I took the plunge and went with the Pro-View Combo and added the fly more Kit, I already have the DJI FPV, as well as the motion controller, I'm mainly interested in the new goggles, as well as the portability of the Avata Drone compared to the DJI FPV. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and experience, believe me when I tell you, it is very much appreciated.
I've been on the fence for a long time about buying a drone. This device has me leaning more towards buying a (this) drone, now more than ever.
I ordered mine Friday, waiting for shipment . I was going to buy the Mavic 3 but I heard there releasing a Mavic 3 SE or something? But I decided on this instead for now til next month lol 😆

IDEA: dji makes batteries for Fpv drones like their Fpv system that are safer and last longer.
Ken, Great review as always. I just don’t like that they do not give you the controller with any of the bundles. I fell like they needed to get rid of all the extra stock they had of the joysticks from the original FPV.
Jose, that's not it. DJI is initially marketing this drone towards a certain market and that isn't you. They think guys are going to progress into needing the standard controller after they get used to the Motion Controller. If you sit on it for a bit, I'm sure there will be a kit that doesn't include the Motion Controller. In fact, there are a couple retailers that have the Goggles 2 as a stand alone product without the MC for $569. Everyone needs to put their FOMO on a shelf for a minute and wait until they can get it like they want it. It's not a pacemaker for Christ's sake!

Two videos posted and which one gets watch, the one about not liking. Why is that? Except that I've just bought the mini3pro, I'd give this some serious thought. Flying through that Real Estate really showed its capabilities.
While I wouldn't say it was you alone that convinced me, I definitely enjoyed your videos out in the field. I am mostly interested in the goggle view/dvr as that is what I always display on my channel. I currently have FPV Goggles v1 and an assortment of fpv drones. I ordered Avata with Goggles 2 this morning. This will be my first "camera/gps drone". For me, it will be for exploring, teaching, and early adopting 1080p while waiting for v3 air unit.
As someone who has wanted to get into FPV lately, I can't help but think this might be a great place to actually start. I tried the BetaFPV Cetus Pro and wasn't terribly impressed, plus the goggles stopped working after less than a handful of flights.
Very cool to know about the post production editing features! Would really be good for professional use!
As a young new RUclipsr, indeed plan to get this after having my SONY ZVE10. I can see more to come for the AVATA series.
When DJI offers a bundle with the standard controller as opposed to the motion controller .... i will bite for both myself and my grandson !!!
Concidering for sure, I have Mavic Pro Platinium from y. zero - FPV flights looks very nice. I just would like more complete kit (with fly more combo, remote and the new googles) this would cost in Finland now around 2K€.

How does it handle no fly zones and other restrictions? Can you set a height ceiling? I'm licensed and it's always been a pain to use DJI and no fly zones which is why I fly Autel currently.
It actually does it a little bit easier than the FPV drone I recently uploaded a video on that
@@OriginaldoBo Would you mind defining "little bit easier"? I fly near an AFB as I have a blanket authorization but I still have to call the tower before and after a flight. Can you just force it to let you fly or is it a whole process still?

Hi Ken. In your tests flights using the original DJI FPV drone and the new Avata. I get the original is faster, but how about maneuverability between the 2? Does the Avata maneuver better or about the same?

UGH... between the guys that are pissed that the goggles don't work with the 3 year old Air Units and the guys crying about the Motion Controller... Every product DJI releases doesn't have YOU in mind. My guess is that they are targeting beginners with this initial, early release, with more packages to come in the following weeks. The actual retail release is set for Aug 30th, if I'm not mistaken. BTW there are retailers already listing the Goggles 2 as a stand alone product for $569. You don't have to buy EVERYTHING day one. No one is twisting your arm. Enjoy what you have and wait until they package the drone the way you want or buy it with the Motion Controller. Who knows? You might actually learn to like flying with it. I know for a fact that most of you have never used it so how do you know you won't like it?

Hey Ken! After watching a couple of your vids, I'm a new subscriber to your channel. Never flown an FPV drone, so I'll be using the supplied controller, but it seems to work pretty well, especially for those unused to FPV flight. I have a Mavic Pro and a Mavic 2 Pro, and don't have the controller that works with the Avata (and it's out of stock at DJI) but that's cool; I'll practice and get the moves down and grab the controller later (maybe available on B&H or something?) and learn that when I get it.
Do you know if the DJI Flight Simulator works with the Motion Controller? Doesn't seem like you'd need it, but no one mentions it. No one mentions the quality of the "48 Megapixel" camera for photos either, which has me just a tad concerned, but I doubt I'd need to take pics with the Avata with the other drones I have available for that.
I've seen a ton of videos on this drone and the better ones have me thinking it's a must-have item! Looks fun and simple enough for a non-FPVer like me to get into FPV flight. Thoughts?

I am considering one of these. I haven't flown any FPV yet and only currently have a mini 2 camera drone. I have always fancied an FPV but I am pretty sure I would crash one lots and this has always been at the back of my mind putting me off getting one as well as the building, managing batteries etc. I was looking to maybe upgrade my mini 2 to a mini 3 but now I am wondering if this could be the right step for me to go into FPV with it having things like RTH I feel maybe it maybe hits that middle ground and I would be more comfortable. My only worry is the motion controller which i prsonally like the look/idea of but by all acounts seems to be a bit of a gimmick and I would probably end up having to but the normal control unit. Actually any feedback from you FPV pilots on any of his would be much appreciated if you don't mind. Thanks in advance.

Does the goggle fog up easy?
He did say it does fog 🌫 on a previous video. It could just be due to leaks in the mask he is going through? Hopefully a 3rd party is making in that vents air, but also keeps things dark. Breathable vent or thin foam could solve that issue.

It's so frustrating that everyone seems to build 8/10ths of what I'm looking for. I have not gotten back to the quad world in many years now and it's getting closer with the Avata, since I would like to enjoy the FPV experience but as another reviewer stated, why not make a FPV drone that can do everything else the others can do...it just makes no sense for those that want to do this professionally to carry around multiple drones. It sucks that ONLY DJI is making things like this...I think it's time I give in and go with DJI, it's shameful there are no REAL alternatives in the US for FPV's...build yourself or DJI.
Question for you? I have heard if you are using a android phone there is a issue with upgrading firmware and setting up the drone. I have heard you need to use like a I phone vs android. Have you had that issue or heard about it?
Battery is not good. Only 12 minutes flight time
