"Lost" in the woods huh?! That's my kind of lost. A beautiful, manageable kind of lost...with a cosy cafe too (according to the blurb on Google). You are such a nut💕! I just love wandering in a gorgeous woodland, exploring the paths, imagining I'm Robinhood! Note: being the maiden stuck at the castle embroidering....dull, dull, dull. Thanks for putting me in a better mental space Kit!💕😘🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
Oh, Barbara! This comment made me and Hubby laugh our asses off. Delightful gentle sarcasm is just what we needed today. Thank you! 🤗🥰🤣 Yes, my secret is out. I was never too far from safety. But I have some pretty serious limitations, so although I don't climb actual mountains or explore dense jungles, I feel that as long as I maintain an intrepid and manly attitude (and avoid the cosy cafes) I can still visit these places and call it an adventure. 😁 And until Vanlife, I spent the previous 20 years housebound and hermit-like. So this is actually quite a huge thing for me! 😊👍 I love your feedback each week, and think of you often while filming. You're one of the core viewers whose opinion really matters, so thank you for putting ME in a better mental space. I had a horrible experience today during filming, and you just cheered me right up. 😘x
Thank you. 😊 Well, I guess most things are better than Newark Airport, including every other Newark, but it's still weird to hide a castle. 🤣 Greensleeves seemed to fit, but I hadn't even noticed the appropriate apparel. Glad you enjoyed it. 😘x
You’re so funny and entertaining. The scenery is beautiful and satisfies my curiosity about the English countryside. Thank you so much for this moment of uplifting content. Don’t know if this is of actual use for you but the “map my run” app draws a line on a map of your path. You won’t get lost again, but where’s the fun in that? Be well Kit. X 😍
Aw, thanks Dolly. Glad you enjoyed it. 🤗 Yes, we have some lovely views here, and it's good to hear that you're liking them. I keep feeling that my crappy cheap cameras aren't doing them justice, but I do my best with what I have and it's reassuring to get such lovely feedback. Thank you! 😘 Oh, the app thing... I can already do that with Google maps, but as you say, where's the fun in it? 😉😁x
Newark Castle should up their game, clearly they need to add some directions and guidance. Hooray for bin men for helping you. I loved the footage with greensleeves playing in the background, beautiful! At least you got to admire the castle from a distance 😀 Robin Hood Theatre, leafy trees, idyllic countryside - and a nuclear reactor 😆 Amusing juxtaposition. Fortunately it didn't melt down. You are not a pompous patronizing twit!! "You have arrived" - at a blocked road xD Very helpful, Google Maps. Barnby in the Willows sounds lovely, indeed. It was nice to see those old camping photos, it is always nice to hear about your past experiences. Hill Holt Wood seemed fine until it revealed its confused pseudo-roman Disney identity. I would find that lack of signposting really frustrating. "Ouch ouch sweat in my eyes" very intrepid 😊 Hooray you found a car park in the end!
Ah, sweet Jere! This was just what I needed. Thank you, darling. 🥰🤗 I've been very upset about something someone said, and you provided the perfect antidote at just the right moment. I have a terrible fear of seeming pompous and patronising. People have been accusing me of those things since I was a teenager and it hurts my soul to think that I come across that way. I try so hard not to. Anyway, you said just what I needed to hear, so thank you. 🤗 Also, thank you for watching, as always, and for leaving such a Gaia-esq comment. You know I love that. Thank you. 😘 xx
Thanks, mate. 😊 Glad you enjoyed it. I guess the fact that I'm replying kind of blows the suspense, as I clearly made it out alive. Sorry about the spoiler! 🤣 Thanks for watching. See you next time. 😘x
Wow what's the point of having a castle if nobody can bloody find it?? Aww love the camping nostalgia. LMAO KFC, I do the same thing. My friend moved to a farm, and anytime she shoes me the lambs I'm like "WHEN ARE WE GONNA EAT THEM??" LOL WHAT IS A KARENS PATCH? Oh no not the wrong car park!! Hope you find your way back to the van!
Hey, Kevvie. Thanks for watching. 😘 Yeah, that castle was weirdly hidden for something so visible. Maybe you're expected to swim across the river to it? lol. Oh, I always get food cravings when I look at farm animals - even though I'm an animal lover and wish I could be a vegan. I just love meat so much! Nom nom nom! 😋
Haha oops for pressing the video button by mistake! Aww for not being able to get to the castle. Totally could've happened to me too. Nice you visited the theatre. Aww that picture of you camping as a kid! Aww for a nostalgic smell, I love that. Aww the chicken! Ugh for confusing signage! No idea how the teepee is a Roman villa???! I have a bad sense of direction. The forest area looks nice even if confusing due to lack of signage. Yay that you found the car park! Haha the automatic subtitles say 'i found the car park. [Applause]'. I couldn't hear applause but that seems very appropriate 👏🏻😂. Aww that it's the wrong car park! Great video again!
Thank you, Gaia. 🤗 Didn't know you used subtitles. I've never checked them for accuracy... I wonder what they may get wrong. 🤔 Thanks for watching, and the detailed comment. Hope you are well. 😘x
My sensory processing issues have been worse lately so I've taken to using the autogenerated subtitles with all RUclips videos I watch (I always turned on subtitles already when watching ie. a TV show with a DVD or on Netflix etc.). I hate how RUclips's autogenerated subtitles pop up one word at a time, and sometimes it gets things wrong, but I need it sometimes to help me process and also for when my attention drifts so I find it helpful. It's a shame real life doesn't have subtitles as I could sometimes do with them :P. Especially if it's an unexpected conversation ie outside or in a noisier place. Thank you, I am doing allright, I hope you are doing well too! 😘 x
Interesting. In the area of subtitles we seem to differ a lot then. I can't bear them. They destroy any immersion I can get from a movie, and they prevent me from seeing the images properly in any other form, like documentary for example. I'd rather not hear or understand the dialogue than miss the visuals or lose immersion. But I'm a very slow reader, and can't decipher them just at a glance, so subtitles require more attention from me than the average viewer. Anyway, yes, I'm doing well, thank you. Sorry about the delayed reply. For some reason I didn't find this until just now. 🌻😘x
The reason you got lost in Hill Holt Wood (and the reason there are no sign posts etc) is that you shouldn't have been there. Its not public access land. Its a registered charity project providing education to kids with special learning needs and challenging behaviours etc. There's no roman village - its the site of a roman villa (!) that there are plans to excavate in the future.
Ahhhh... LOL! Well, that explains the hostile looks I received too, then. Honestly, there was no signage anywhere telling me that it was private, or that it was anything other than public woodland. There were wide open gates with signs pointing to a car park - which I followed. I never would have gone there if I'd known it was private. (And if anyone had said anything to me, I would have left). Anyway, I have severe enough mental disabilities that I'm sure they wouldn't have minded sharing their woods with me for an hour. Thanks for watching. 😊😊
Well I'm guessing you did eventually find the right car park. 😂 Rather a comical vid. You don't seem to be fretting so much now making vids and laughing when things go wrong which is actually making entertaining but realistic vids.
Thank you, Shaun. 😊 Yes, I think I've found my groove, as well as the correct car park,. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I am still a fretful kind of person, and that kind of goes with my mental health issues, but as I get more comfortable with van life you'll (hopefully) see me continue to cope better and laugh in the face of adversity. 😁 Thank you for watching. 😘 x

Better than the Newark airport (New Jersey). Love Greensleeves music and you appropriately are wearing your green sleeves. It was a lovely walk.

I would never describe you as patronising Kit. Thanks for another entertaining adventure. Intrepid of course.
Thank you, Ros. I need to check every now and then. Wouldn't want to be an accidental 💩. Glad you enjoyed it. 😘x
