I worked for the Charlotte Hornets for 3 years under Mr. Jordan's leadership. Calling him one of the worst owners in the league is ludicrous. Yes, the on-court product has been tough. But guys--as a business (the side I worked on)--we absolutely crushed it. Ticket sales, sponsorship, community outreach. He has been an AWESOME owner in that he hired incredible talent to run the organization and treated us and compensated us very well. It was an incredible place to work. This is some lousy analysis.
He bought this team as the Charlotte Bobcats--a horrible brand with a horrible reputation and a horrible owner (Bob Johnson). Taking guys that play one year in college or high school is an under developed that end up going no where. 3 to 4 years in college basketball helps a player develop their craft. Taking a weakness product weakness the league which translates to poor attendance and less revenue. Paying someone 20 million dollars a season and they play less than 82 games and not injuried translates to crap. Crap in crap out. Raise the standards, empower the coaches, stop taking one and done college players 3 years of college play has to be the minimum requirement for the NBA.

Born and raised in Miami, diehard heat fan since 88. The time you’re describing is the best time of my life. 4 finals appearances and 2 rings. Sometimes it works out is all I’m saying if you find those guys on your team. It sucked for Cleveland but, great for us.

Most of us true older fans were ready for Jordan to retire, now it’s time for LeBron. Same with Tom Brady, it’s time to go. Sad that the NBA has nobody to lean on after he’s gone, just like the PGA Tour is not in great shape with Tiger gone. The sporting world is changing, that’s for sure!

The nba is a product for children today. They don't make the game for adults purposely. My issue is how much money parents fork over to nba and nba products while at the same time they complain about money and the financial gap. You can't have it both ways.

Pat doesn't know what tf he's talking about. Have you seen the value of these teams the last decade? Between 2001 to 2022, the average NBA team's value increased more than ten fold. How is one of the top 3 fastest growing sports not a good investment?

i wouldn't say the NBA is a shit product, but it is different, mainly because of the rules. I recently started watching more college basketball this season, and i was kind of disappointed at a lot of the games i saw. I did love the intensity & teamwork and passing at the college level, but the amount of missed shots i saw surprised me. I think i was so used to seeing NBA pros knocking down 3's and shooting fade aways which they made look so easy. I actually enjoyed watching high school basketball and NBA basketball more than college lately.

College basketball is an objectively inferior product, if you take the national tournament out of it there’s no reason to watch.
