I owned a brand new chrome covered Slingerland Avante kit back in the day. It had 3 mounted toms on the kick in a v formation. Some of the best sounding drums that I ever owned. 😎

As a proud owner if a restored Slingerland kit from the late 1950s I commend you... well done... the drums look and, more importantly, SOUND great.
Those drums look great and sound amaizing. It's great we have people that still love the old forgotten insturmants and restoring them to give them another life. It's just good to see an acoustic set from the seventies comparing and winning agianst most drumsets now, also to see someone taking the time to restore and really play them. The way they look in the lights are amaizing when you walk through the door and see that amaizing finish.

Coca-Cola/ tinfoil on hardware is awesome. I dislike greasy stuff on my hands. Coke is effortless. Can even soak stubborn pieces overnight and reduce hard work.
You destroyed it is what you did. get that tom off that tone sucking snare stand!
All of the mounting hardware was heavily corroded and unusable. It sounds fine.
Great at all tunings,I bought a light blue pearl slingerland kit from guitar center,it had some mods,luckily I had all parts I needed to put back in original condition,after weeks of trying to find the sound I was looking for,head combination as follows,kick,Evans black onyx on reso,Evans one play coated half of wide sound ring,Tom ,emperor over ambassador clear reso,floor tom,remo emperor ebony over Ludwig strider heavy clear,med,to low tuning on all drums,they sound beefy,
