    Hey mate, just a few questions.
    I'm already on an UL bootloader w/ TWRP, do I have to do the steps where you flash it again as boot.img?
    Also, once I've done this can I upgrade to LP?
    Cheers

    Hey MaowDroid! I have followed your tuto but at the point of restarting the phone for entering in the recovery mode the TWRP does not start, the screan remains in black after showing the Sony logo. I have used the TWRP in the link dl.twrp.me/sirius/twrp-2.8.6.0-sirius.img, which it is supposed to be the most recent for the Xperia Z2 (it is the one I have). Why is it happening? Do I have to push any volume button to launch the TWRP?

    Is there any other way than comparing photo quality to confirm that the DRM-keys are correctly installed?

    • @MaowDroid
      @MaowDroid  8 лет назад +1

      I believe there was something to do with the audio quality but I could never tell the difference. The most visual way is the camera tests. I'm not sure if there's a hidden menu that can verify the keys are installed, but the possibility is there.
      Edit: check out this forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52990972&postcount=3
      You can access the secret service menu and it should tell you. :)

    • @RenatusChristoph
      @RenatusChristoph 8 лет назад

      Thanks. In the meantime I found out that you can't check it that way - as the mod only restores the lost functions and not the actual keys - of course - you will get the error if you vheck the "secret service" menu :)
      Btw I was doing this exactly because I lost audio volume (seriously both in external sound and in-call) and quality on my Z3 when I unlocked the bootloader and haven't found a fix yet.

    • @MaowDroid
      @MaowDroid  8 лет назад

      ***** I think that is what the audio degradation is when the DRM keys are wiped. Maybe a custom kernel could fix it up?

    I have an xperia z3 that's rooted and with recovery already installed on the latest marshmallow version. It was a pain in the ass rooting and putting recovery on this thing so I'm wondering if I follow this tutorial will I lose everything and have to reroot it? I find this stuff very confusing. Otherwise, could I just lock the bootloader and then flash this zip since I already have recovery?

    • @MaowDroid
      @MaowDroid  8 лет назад

      Yes, when following this you will be flashing an FTF twice so it will return back to stock but you will have TWRP (or any custom recovery) in the end. I think all you have to do is flash SuperSU after.
      After locking the bootloader you can't flash the ZIP, I don't know if you should be locking the bootloader when your device isn't returned to stock.

    Thank you very much for this, I was desperate to get my Z3's DRM features back. The camera seems better and Track ID works, but I have no WiFi. My build before was D6603_23.0.A.2.105, now it is 23.0.1.A.77 is this the problem do you think? Any help would be appreciated I have no clue how resolve this :(

    • @mondo2478
      @mondo2478 9 лет назад

      D6603_23.0.A.2.105, and everyone seemed to use '23.0.1.A.77 to restore DRM, I thought this was just an earlier build of Android.
      Would I be better doing the whole process again using D6603_23.0.A.2.105?
      If so where could I find this version which would restore the DRM functionality?
      Any help is appreciated!!

      ***** Thanks a lot for your help, I am so strung out with this phone, your help is appreciated. i get confused as there are a few things I need for the phone and I am not sure where to get the right ones>.
      From this video I can see I need:
      1. DRM Funtion restoration main
      2. Recovery, I think I have the wrong one
      3. Firmware built via Flashtool from downloaded file from XperiFirm
      4. A Z3 Kernel file
      I followed the video and it was a success, but I think I have some wrong files and not sure where to get the correct files for my device.
      Any advice is appreciated.
      Can I use any recovery?
      My build before was: 6603_23.0.A.2.105 do I need to use this instead of .77?
      Thank you, I will try and do this again tonight, but I need to make sure I use the correct files this time.
      Cheers!!

    • @mondo2478
      @mondo2478 9 лет назад

      ***** Actually I got the firmware from XperiFirm, for UK Customized, because my phone is unlocked I didn't want to choose from one of the networks. But for the UK customized there is only.77 available, that is how I ended up with that firmware.Does XperiFirm provide pure stock firmware?

    • @mondo2478
      @mondo2478 9 лет назад

      ***** Thanks for your help, I am not sure what you mean I should do, but should I start this whole process from the beginning, the entire process in this video to get the correct firmware on, or can I just flash once to the correct firmware? I am not sure if I flash to the correct firmware it will wipe the DRM restore?
      I will try this tomorrow, thanks for your help!!!
