Jasper HS Symphony Orchestra

Jasper High School is a grade 9 and 10 campus in Plano, TX, a Dallas suburb. Their orchestra currently serves over 200 students in five orchestras. Since its inception in 1996, Jasper's Legacy Orchestra has repeatedly ranked as one of the top three string orchestras in Texas, competing alongside high schools that fill their orchestras with 9th through 12th graders, and in 2014 the full orchestra was named the TMEA Honor Full Orchestra. Jasper's orchestras have also repeatedly earned top commendation at UIL competition and festival competitions across Texas.
The orchestra performing is the end of year Symphony Orchestra, a combination of the top 2 string orchestras (Legacy and Camerata) and a large wind section drawn from Jasper's Wind Ensemble. Jackie Digby is the Jasper Director of Bands.

The Defying Gravity part always gets me. This was the last piece I played in my high school orchestra before graduating, and this was the part where the screen came down and they showed the graduating class' pictures. There's something about that part that just chokes me up whenever I hear it.
This sounded like a perfect background score for WICKED movie....if it gets made.😍
EXCELLENT! LOVE how they segued from Defying Gravity into the end of the Finale. VERY GOOD orchestration for a high school Orchestra.
Beautiful music. Really enjoyed playing this music every time back in concert band in high school.
I am playing this song now and it is an extremely hard song because of the sincal pations so this orchestra did and extremely excellent job

They don't have timpani: not cool
All the solos I had in my orchestra, were replaced by the cellos here! :(
This is a very difficult piece...The difficulty lies in the collaboration between different instruments
