It was a beautiful pond, sadly I ended up having to move to a flat so took apart the pond. The fish which were largely rehomes from people who had to get rid of them rapidly anyway were rehomed sadly.
In winter I slow down feeding and therefore water changes, just trying to avoid any residual food in their gut during that period they will go more dormant like any goldfish kept in the Uk climate.
I haven't had this pond through winter but I have fleece I'll probably wrap around it. The previous pond wasn't an issue with heat in winter as the area is rather sheltered.
My pond is in the ground but very small only750 litres, I covered it in polycarbonate over winter and it made a huge difference, keeps the wind off and absorbs any warmth on a sunny day. I also put a pond de icer in and this warms the water directly around it by a couple of degrees, my goldfish would all hover beneath it and it definitely made it more comfortable for them, plus very cheap to run as only 150 watts
It’s only 400L so not massive but I’d like a larger one if I was allowed. I just used free ones from RUclips that I downloaded of their RUclips studio.
@@ltjake8535 I tend to clean the windows frequently and the pond gets large frequent water changes but with the seasons. So as it gets cooler I slow down the water changes as their metabolism reduces. I find the water changes help reduce green water.
I bought mine from GardenSite and made it up a few days ago. It wasn't easy as parts didn't match up. The cross bars had to be redrilled as they were not in the right places and the instructions didn't explain this. It looks very nice all set up just waiting for my new plants to arrive and a few snails before I put in my three 5 inch fish who have been living in a plastic barrel for 3 years and doing very well in it but are getting bigger.I may also put half of their water into the new pond to help build the bacteria. I also have a net and a decor Heron as they are often seen hanging around my garden
That's a shame it was difficult to build, mine wasn't too bad but taking it apart was a nightmare. I do have a net to prevent the heron but I took it off for the video.
Hey nice pond. Nice to see the fish through the glass.
Mine all gang up to look out to the world
Most fish can only see the world looking up
True, it's just nice to see some fishes from the side.
Also its really good there is enough lighting in there to appreciate their colours.
Looks awesome and love the fish!
Love pond and fish

It's amazing! How do you treat such a large amount of water with chorine neutraliser when you do partial water changes?
I actually have a pond water conditioner but when that runs out Seachem prime is enough.
Love to see more on this and what do you do in winter..

You would have too put some kind of heater for Autumn/winter as fancy goldfish are not as hardy as there common gold fish cousins.
Hi I've already commented however do you insulate the pond over winter with bubble wrap or anything

Does it plug in to a plug in your house out the window or did u pay for garden electrics?
I actually plugged it in through the cat flap inside. It could be wired into the houses electrics but I just wired it to a plug.
Love this! Do you keep them outside during the winter? I have a lionhead and 2 orandas i would like to put in a pond
Yes the fish were outside during winter, the pond could be wrapped up and insulated but I didn’t have any issues during winter.
Nice fish. I was thinking to buy the same one pond, but would be to small for my piggies.
How it's called this pond? Nice setup 👍
Hi, that's a stylish pond ! I like it !!, What volume is it ? and also what soundtrack did you use... Nice Video BTW !
It’s only 400L so not massive but I’d like a larger one if I was allowed. I just used free ones from RUclips that I downloaded of their RUclips studio.
What litre is this ?
Looks so good did the pond come with a filter ??
Yeah it did, it’s an internal filter with a UV.
Looking really nice. I actually have a very similar setup with fancies! Which country are you in, curious with what you do in winter
I live in the South of England so we don’t really get harsh winters, nothing like up North.
I'm actually pretty close! How do you keep the windows and water quality so clean?
@@ltjake8535 I tend to clean the windows frequently and the pond gets large frequent water changes but with the seasons. So as it gets cooler I slow down the water changes as their metabolism reduces. I find the water changes help reduce green water.
Wear?
Hi how to you clean the windows from the inside
I just use a sponge or an algae cleaning pad.
Do you heat the pond ?
No I didn’t.

Yo where did you buy
The pond was from Maidenhead Aquatics but the fish were from a mixture of different stores.
