I was surprised at the quality (physically) of this one. I expected light cheap plastic feeling, but it was sturdy and had a great weight and overall - if this thing had something with better software like Garlic or Onion (or something similar) it would be amazing. You'd think that handheld companies would be paying for great O.S support as it has the potential to be game changing!
Wholeheartedly agree. Stock (and the modified stock called Tomato OS) are good, but nothing comes close to the elegance of an OS running theemulation station frontend.
I think in that segment he was suggesting that the included ROM was at fault for the stuttering, not the SD card. The SD cards are just prone to failure, but always better to use your own ROMs as well. Although I think that particular game is not going to run full speed on this device regardless.
using the tekken 5 rom included on the stock card made the game freeze at loading times (sometimes) now im using my own rom of the same game and no more freezing
No Custom Firmware yet... not possible way to run Android on this like actual android or a more polished Linux custom image?? this device has to be more powerful than what Trumui FW Provided??? i know this was an $80 usd device but still.... iv seen hacks to pure Clean linux benchmarks on this CPU and performance was way better than this stock fw experiance can do... iv seen up to DC/ and even PS2 rin on this SoC this device has... and someone did a internal hardware (aka Hardware mod) to boot a pure blank linux OS on this Trimui Spart pro device and ran Geekbench and got really good CPU and GPU scores.... someone needs to Mod a CFW / OS for this device!

Thank god, Joey.. I had been trying to update mine using a different video I found that turned out to not be very helpful... I should have looked for a video from you first, but thanks to you I got it up and running! I did have one issue with my card format; I'm on a Mac and am using a 128g card, which I guess Mac will not allow to format as FAT32? Could not figure it out [newb] and ended up using a smaller card that was formatted appropriately, slapped the incremental update on there, and got it to install. Then just swapped back to my larger card with all my games and everything is as it should be! I might have taken the long way to get to the end goal, but I'm still learning! 😅 Thank you for helping me figure it out, Joey!!!

Are all roms bad? One reason I bought it with the SD card was to skip the step of downloading each of the roms. But if they are bad you think I should replace all of them? Or maybe just change the ones that keeps crashing.
Yeah, definitely clone the card. I've literally only just turned mine on for the first time and NDS & PS ROMS are already corrupt. The only saving grace is that the 64GB SD card version was the same cost as no SD card.

Because it's difficult and too much work. You can use Skraper and put the images in the Imgs folder, then folders for each emulator and images name has to match game name.
What do you mean games freezes I mean that's true I have one but it's white but when I play God of war and never freezes and goes like that it goes really smooth

Update: I'm having some issues with roms that I have added. These are super Mario World ROM hacks, and I've noticed that some of them work but other ones don't. I just get a black screen after it says that it has loaded. I've tested these ROMs on several other handhelds as well as my PC, and they all work fine. I've noticed that this system seems to default to SNES9x 2005 emulator, where is all the other ones use newer versions snes9x. I don't know how to change that. Any suggestions? Super Mario World ROM hacks are literally the only thing I play on my retro handhelds...
@@dylanhile358 Cloning is exactly that, a one to one copy. Whatever you see right now with whatever SD card you're using, when you clone it, will be the exact same.

Anyone else having problems running PC Engine games from the stock OS? TrimUI Smart Pro on version 1.0.4 and all pce games will run for a minute or two, then randomly start going Up directional. Happening with all .pce roms, can only get a level or so in to each game until it starts happening. And this only happens when running any pc engine game, not any other system, so I don't think it's hardware?

It took me well over 3 and a half hours to figure it all out but it was worth it and I'm really enjoying this emu device

I have a bunch of isos for ps1 games but it seems that the trimui only reads pbp files :(

Do you update directly to version 1.4 hotfix? Or did you install 1.4 after the hotfix?

And what about miniatures or covers? No one says how to show miniatures in game menu, despite the images are in the IMG folder...

When I use Rufus to format the card I end up with two "autorun" files. Do I keep these or delete them?

It worked for me i just left my old roms folder so i didn't lose the games.

You can use it to transfer files, Saves taking the Micro Sd card out to add roms etc.
