I'm glad you made a new vid about this, I was wondering why no one has. This can be found for as low as $42 on sales and it has Vulkan GPU Drivers, making it perform better on PSP than the RK3566 Handhelds can currently.
This device definitely seems to punch above it's price tag. Still I wouldn't mind to pay a bit more to get proper PSP emulation with upscaling and/or other improvements. I recently found out about duck station (and pgxp, widescreen hacks and other QOL improvements) and wondered which handhelds have the "horsepower" to handle them.
Everyone keeps saying that, but i haven't found any psp game on my trimui that performed better on Vulkan than OpenGL. Most perform worse on vulkan. That said; lots of psp games perform great! Especially with 30fps cheat.
This is great video 🙂! You're the first to make a review of CrossMix-OS and your "how to setup" is really good, thanks for that ! The philosophy of CrossMix is to simplify the gamer's life by offering the best experience possible out of box. But also to offer a bunch of advanced features to reveal all the potential of their devices. CrossMix was also created with developers and content creators in mind, and although it lacks documentation at the moment, its architecture is extensible and easy to understand. I know that the default theme is not to everyone's taste but recently I have added "Theme Packs" in System Tools which allows to deeply customize the TSP in one click (boologo, theme, icons, backgrounds, emulator labels...). I was really happy that you showed the directory override, that's the good way (and it's not very common). For the shaders, I have this idea to complete the "overlay selector" with more options: in the future you'll be able to select pre-configured shaders or not. Some features of CrossMix are probably unique, like the overlay selector that you shown but there's also the "PSX Analog detector" which will detect and configure PSX games compatible with dual shock automatically, the M3U playlist generator which will create playlist for multidisk PSX games, theme packs, random game picker, ... Currently I'm working a little on PortMaster to improve the compatibility. CrossMix work on v1.3.0 has already started, it's not going to happen right away but I can already say that there will be a bunch of improvements and new features. The update will be possible simply via OTA application.
Thanks Joey! I got my 256 SanDisk MicroSD today and my Trimui Smart Pro should arrive within the next few days. However, thanks to you, my card will be configured and ready to plug in when the system arrives! Great process for setting that up! Peace.

Good guide BUT you don't need to first move the .zip file to the SD card and then extract. You can just extract from the downloads folder to the SD card as a drive. This way you don' get bottlenecked because the SD card is reading and writing to itself, instead your PC/laptop SSD/HDD will be reading the .zip and be ONLY writing to the SD card. This saves some wear and tear plus it will be way faster.
My partner has the RG35XX-H and isn't happy with the screen size. Now that better CFW is coming for this handheld, is it a worthy upgrade for the current price, or would there be a system around the price point of this one (currently £50-60) that can handle PSP, N64 and DC better?
