- An incredible performance, which I find to be the best of this piece, by the great pianist from the channel rafaelmusician.
Scherzo in A minor, No. 10, from 10 Pieces Op. 12, by Sergei Prokofiev.
Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev (11/23 April 1891 - 5 March 1953) was a Russian composer, pianist and conductor. As the creator of acknowledged masterpieces across numerous musical genres, he is regarded as one of the major composers of the 20th century. His works include such widely heard works as the March from The Love for Three Oranges, the suite Lieutenant Kijé, the ballet Romeo and Juliet - from which "Dance of the Knights" is taken - and Peter and the Wolf. Of the established forms and genres in which he worked, he created - excluding juvenilia - seven completed operas, seven symphonies, eight ballets, five piano concertos, two violin concertos, a cello concerto, and nine completed piano sonatas. - Видеоклипы
Real music. Not “sounds like music” but real, actual music. Thank you.
I'm honored you chose my performance! It's a really fun piece for sure.
Oh god, how long did it take you to learn this?!!
@@sarovah1 About 3 months or so
@@rafaelmusicianomg. 😢😢😢🎉🎉🎉
@@rafaelmusicianyoure a slow learner then. Took me two weeks tops. And I play it much better.
@@sarcastaballpics or it didn't happen
This looks brutally difficult
Its pretty easy actually
@@sarcastaballagreed, i can play it with 1 finger and my nose
@@lux5164 uuh. How?
@@sarcastaballwith one finger and their nose
@@GUILLOM If someone says they can fly by flapping their arms and people ask how, repeating that claim is not sufficient. the same goes for playing this piece with one finger and a nose.
The timing is so trippy, it feel like the right hand is doing 2/4 and the left is doing 3/4
It's called a hemiola!
@@feneb6497 My doctor advised surgery for my hemiola.
A very fast performance. Must be world record.
Mind blowingly amazing!
Вау, Круто😅❤
裏切ることは絶対ない、プロコのピアノ遊び!最高!
OMG the basses on that piano are EPIC!!!! That could only be an S&S D.
It could easily be a Bosendorfer imperial grand
@@bartwatts1921 Come to think of it, you're right....... the RUclips compression doesn't help much when it comes to high-defiinition sound......
It's actually a Yamaha
@@rafaelmusician I'm actually not surprised. The rest of the piano doesn't sound that great, but the basses are undeniably epic. Btw, I never even knew your channel existed until now. Keep up the good work- you are truly a speed demon! There are not enough of them out there these days. Subscribed.
Come to think of it, I've listened to some other recordings on your channel, and the piano actually sounds great. One of the few really great Yamahas out there. I also like your videos very much, you play on a very high level.
Wonderful piece!
I love this recording, thanks for making the sheet music vid

I'm wondering - most dynamic indications are between p and ppp, whilst the performance really tends to go to the fff levels when p is written. There's also a lot of extreme (de)crescendos all over that are not in the sheet music. Are these "deviations" in performance something universally accepted as intended by Prokofiev?
What's generally accepted is that a great artist has "discretionary powers" of interpretation. Some will disagree. But this is a stunning performance.
Reminiscient of Chopin Op 28 No 16.
Solo una lontana.....x il resto non c'è paragone da tutti i punti di vista, una decadenza rispetto a pezzi o scherzi di chopin
I was gonna say! The left hand at the start is the same rhythm, and the format is very reminiscent.
Напоминает 16 прелюдию Шопена
So who is playing?
I couldn't find his full name, however, as you can see in the description, it's from the channel Rafaelmusician.
Who is the pianist?
Please see the description.
@@SeigneurReefShark Can't find it.

Looks *insanely* difficult
It really is, I was supposed to play it for an exam, but by lack of time i will not, unfortunately
It's hard to know if Prokokofiev came from heaven or hell.
