I saw duty in the Army during the Viet Nam war and served on funeral detail quite a few times. I was the NCO who presented the family with the flag after it was folded. I am 73 now but I can still remember the faces of those to that I presented the flag like it was yesterday. I also heard Amazing Grace more than once and every time I hear it now it brings tears to an old man's eyes.
While serving in the Marine Corps during a funeral detail, after we folded the flag, the firing detail sent off its volley and the bugler played taps, off in the distance a lone piper played this. Very moving.
Had one for my Dad's graveside funeral. He piped him in with Scotland the Brave while the pallbearers got the casket in place and piped him out with Amazing Grace. Pop was Air Force and flew the first Sabres in Korea. He loved the pipes. There were no dry eyes.
Stunning version. My dad was in the Korean war, and during his funeral services a few years ago, he wanted this played on bagpipes. Partly since it would fit with honoring him, but believe it or not, he also loved when it was in Star Trek II!
A hauntingly beautiful song, doubly so when played on bagpipes. This was appreciated. I will always think of my parents (God rest their souls) whenever I hear it.
Being a first responder for 8 yrs now, hearing this brought instant tears. Reminds me of all who I knew who passed on in their line of service. Absolutely moving
Still one of the most beautiful songs ever to be played... especially on the pipes. Always brings a tear to my eye along with the fond memories of loved ones passed. Thank you for sharing this
At a line of duty funeral for one of our own, the FDNY emerald society played this, what a shivering tune by some of the best pipers in the northeast. Will never forget that day.
Because of this, I learned a lot about the different bag pipe instruments that I had never heard of such as the Uilleann, the Northumbrian, and the Border Pipes. So many variations, and all amazing to hear. Keep doing what you do, you're amazing!
A uilleann and a bagpipe together playing Amazing Grace, not only sounds musically amazing, but it also has so many deep layers of political meanings that I'm struggling to wrap my mind around the idea of a Scottish and an Irish instrument playing an English song. This is amazing!
Heavenly and ancient reminder of greater things and souls still singing across countless generations. Wonderful, thanks so much. Best possible way, for me, to hear amazing grace. In the oldest ways grace and mercy mean the same things, I always hear and feel them most from bagpipes.
Ally & Tara, Thank Yall this Outstanding Version of Amazing Grace👏🏻 Blessings for Yall from Northeast Georgia Mountains and 🏴Clan MacTavish🏴 🏴Alba An Aìgh🏴
In the span of just ten short years I played this song at the graves of my mother, father and wife. This song was always emotional but now it hits so much differently. I haven't touched my pipes in over a year since I laid my wife to rest. I'm not sure if I can ever play them again...though this hymn it's painful to hear, it's also uplifting, thank you both for this duet.
I love 'Amazing Grace' I've loved the Pipes for at least 70 years. Never heard it better. You two ARE Amazing and I'm telling my musician granddaughter, Grace, that it is true! Thank you for sharing such an inspired rendition (sometimes I think you may be the best thing to ever come out of the Triple City area! )
I have no words!! this song was my mother's favorite song its the song I played at her funeral I even have it tattooed on my back in memory of her but wow I have never heard such a breath taking version in my life wow wow wow let's hope u give us a second verse or maybe even a full song best version ever!!!
Je suis français, je ne connais pas l'origine de cette musique mais elle fait toujours monté en moi un grand émoi et votre interprétation est magnifique, vous m'avez fait monté la larme à l'œil. Bravo à vous deux.
@@wazson3178 Actually it’s not Scottish - it was written by the English Anglican clergyman and poet John Newton - a former captain of ships engaged in the slave trade before he found spirituality.
Слава БОГУ и Пресвятой Богородице Слава Царствию Небесному С Сошествием Святого Духа на апостолов Слава БОГУ и Пресветој Богородици Слава Царству Небеском Срећан Силазак Свјатог Духа на Апостоле
Beautiful job! So glad you found a uillean piper to play with. Now maybe your fiddler friend and you and the other roiper can collaborate with Patty Gurdy. What a band that would be. And maybe also a bodhrain player too. Please forgive the misspellings.
So I knew at some time that Uilleann pipes were in a different key but forgot that until you started playing. Was expecting the same melody in the same key on both instruments with maybe some slight harmony. Of course they're not in the same key so instead you put together one of the most interesting and unique harmony arrangements of this tune that I've ever heard. Spectacular!
Anyone could of seen through that beautiful costume Ariel 🤣😂🤔 i mean to the b a utiful girl you are your a genuine crack up and you continue to make me laugh and smile 💯❤️✝️
they are the Uilleann Pipes from ireland not northumbrian pipes. Both are played with bellows but northumbrian pipes are much simple ,smaller and sound very different.
Pretty much a piece that should never be played on anything other than lone bagpipes or a full orchestra. Nothing else will do. As a proud Scot, I will never not see Mr. Spock's funeral whenever Amazing Grace is played as that was the first time I'd ever heard it. Age 5. Love your content, Ally, and also introduced my Dad to it.

Thank you for your service and GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER.
May they all rest in peace for their ultimate sacrifice.....
Bless you 🙏💚♥️💚♥️

Very moving.
Very prescient for Veterans day and Remembrance Sunday over here in Britain...
Thank you for serving
Also on funeral detail, Army. We did three where there was a lone piper playing this. Funny how a grown man can fight back tears from just a song.

They did a full military funeral for my grandfather, just like that. Korean War, Marine till the end. Semper Fi.
Most beautiful way to play Amazing Grace is on the bagpipes.
Bugle can be moving too.
It's the only way
Absolutely
very nice to hear them both together!
Tears in my eyes listening to you play this piece
That had the hairs on my back up!
Superb Ladies, thank you!

Of course!

Thank you. I’ve been thinking of my friends I had to bury. You don’t know how much this means to me. Please enjoy the holiday

The text and tune setting of Amazing Grace as we know it is first found in The Sacred Harp, an American tunebook. It's called New Britain in the book.
Bliss me bagpipe! This is very good rendition of amazing Grace
Thank you lady's .. Very beautiful and heart felt
That's awesome. Always love hearing Amazing Grace played on the bag pipes. Very beautiful

Awesome harmonies.
One can not appreciate this tune without watching the movie MAVERICK. Js
I’ll be playing this at my funeral
Trop bien vive la musique celtique 😊
You pulled it off very nicely, a set of Irish bagpipes with the GHB pipes, very nice harmony. I like both pipes for different reasons of course
So awesome and beautiful ❤❤🙏🏼🌹
