- Doughty’s memoir, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, was a funny and irresistible account of her experiences working in a crematorium. The job was a life-changer: Doughty now runs a nonprofit funeral home in Los Angeles and hosts the web series “Ask a Mortician.” Her second book is a fascinating catalog of funeral rituals and burial practices from around the world. Visiting Indonesia, Doughty reports on a family that dresses and cleans their grandfather’s mummified body-two years after the man’s death. In Bolivia, she encounters natitas, skulls that can grant wishes. Closer to home, she investigates green burials. Death is universal, but the ways of understanding it are myriad and thought-provoking.

Ooooh! I would love a medieval death documentary from you! maybe a mini-series with like an episode on babies and children as well as death during pregnancy and labor, maybe one on soldiers and the bodies form war during that period I don't know I think it would be cool!!

I Love watching you speak but, you looked so nervous up there. As for your videos, I just love to watch them . My question is is it against the law to keep your cremation and not have to barry them, in them in the ground ?
I really enjoyed this however was taken aback at what at first glance I thought the sign above Caitlin to be 'Spirits' actually was 'Sports' 😄 well talking for that length of time.. Yeah, I guess you could call it a sport 🤔😄
