Here is a quick and easy tutorial on how to make affordable and easy foam breastplates for cosplay! I used 5mm high density EVA foam here, primed everything with Flexbond and painted it with acrylics. You can also grab many other useful costume making patterns on my website.

Hi~, if you are making a pattern with the duct-tape method, how to you cut it to make sure that when it's foam it takes the right shape you need? I'm not entirely sure how to explain this, but for example, I tried to make the chest piece for Griffith's re-born armour from Berserk, but I didn't quite understand how to make the foam pieces fit my body. I still attempted it but what happened was that if the foam wrapped around my sides, it wouldn't wrap around my upper chest/shoulders. Do I need to cut the pattern into more pieces/are there specific areas to cut or is there another way to make this work? And one more question >.< The armour has a cinched waist and I tried to attach the bottom part to the upper chest piece but I couldn't curve it to the shape it has at all. If you (or anyone else) could try to answer my questions it would be a great help! I just can't seem to find any tutorial for this ;((( Thanks sm!!
