I don’t think I’d really care for a Varian spin-off. I want Disney to make a Frozen and Tangled crossover series. The main characters would be Elsa, Anna, and Rapunzel. Other characters would include Olaf, Kristof, the Spirits of the Enchanted Forest, Eugene, Cassandra, Varian, and maybe even new characters like Samantha and Olivia from my fan fiction. The idea for Varian having his own series was pitched but denied by Disney because he’s a side character in a princess’s show. They offered to let them use the ideas for the show just with an original character that wasn’t Varian but the people that pitched the idea refused to do it because it’s Varian’s story not anyone else’s.🤷🏻♀️ There is a petition on change.org to try and get Varian’s series to be made though.
Varian and Rapunzel are equal in my favorite characters. I love this show so freaking much the only problem I have with it is actually with the fandom more specifically: people in Cass and Varian's fandoms. Rapunzel isn't a perfect person so people should stop treating her like she should be. Spoilers ish? people expected her to be better at handling the situations she was thrown into like with Crossing the Line or that whole scene with Varian in Queen for a Day. she was freaking locked up for EIGHTEEN YEARS and she had no friends or family besides a manipulative kidnapper mother so she has no clue how to react so she responds in a way that seems right to her. she's a good person with flaws and that's what makes a good main character. as much as I hate to say this because I love both Varian and Cassandra so much, but they are to blame as well yet Rapunzel is blamed the most and I do not understand it. Maybe I am thinking too much about this...sorry yall
I love Varian and hate cassandra, but to me its everyone's fault for Varian's part, and for cassandra tbh her reason wasnt good enough to become a villain to me
@@silent935 @Silent ngl...I really love Cass but I agree. She blamed Rapunzel for literally EVERYTHING that she hated about her life. I especially didn't like it when she said "my whole life I have been set aside for YOU" And I'm just like...girl...she was locked away and abused for 18 years
As much as I love this show, the only problem it contains is the third season. (Spoilers) Cassandra's revenge is not only weak but doesn't really make a lot of sense, Rapunzel doesn't learn from her mistake of taking Cassandra for granted after everything Cassandra did for her and Zhan Tiri is the blandest villain I have seen with poor motivations. I'm not saying it's bad but it seems that it wasn't thought all the way through like with the first two seasons.
. I thought Cassandra's story was more of a personal redemption and I think it worked. I do think that there should have been a Duet between Cass and Repunzel... especially when they were both captured..."there's more in you" could have been a great song... just spitballing. - de Janglez
@@CinemastersUltimateTimeline look, I don’t care what word Raps found in the Great Tree when reaching for “deeper than friendship”, she doesn’t know what she’s talking about, at least on Cass’ side people don’t look at their sisters like that! (This is of course an issue of the writers who were going for a sisterly dynamic vs the wlw among the storyboarders who had very different ideas about Cassandra’s feelings)

I can't begin to express how much I love that you spoke to how female characters who fight are considered "strong" while those who are more nurturing are still perceived as too passive or weak despite the fact that this still plays very much into the traditional "masculine" definitions of strength instead of empowering "feminine" traits to be seen as strengths.

I heavily agree with allot of your points stated here. I have one little thing that is a bit of a nitpick. When you said “Violence is usually only Rapunzel’s last choice”. Which I disagree with on a literal sense. Your point of “She tries to solve things with friendship first” is accurate. She is a Paragon Hero of course. But Rapunzel does start several fights in throughout the series prematurely when she probably could have found a way around it. Just because friendship is her first option doesn’t mean violence is her last. Heck, Rapunzel has been shown to actually enjoy fighting. (Especially when she is winning because Eugene’s ego has definitely rubbed off on her a bit). That doesn’t take away from your excellent point that Raps is a strong, skilled warrior (probably like an 18 on strength, and stronger psychically than Eugene) and is also rather feminine. Adding on to your point is another thing that I appreciate about this show. People view Rapunzel as a competent threat, even though she at a face first glance is very feminine. Eugene (who is the main male hero) never questions her authority even when other shows would try an find an excuse to make him the leader instead. Eugene instead ends up fulfilling an almost peacemaker like roll (thanks to Raps rubbing off on him) as he strives to be a good person. And even his ego adjusts to make him actively talking about how awesome Rapunzel is opposed to himself. The ego is still there, it’s now more centered around how awesome his girlfriend is. Also the fact that Eugene gets damseled in the show FAR more often than Rapunzel does shows a healthy amount of switching dynamics in a very healthy way. Interesting little extra point. Cass is definitely a foil to Rapunzel (her Lancer) but she also has a couple of notable similarities. They both rely allot on strength in battle, they are both passionate and stubborn, they are both leaderly and are very good at intimidating. And most interestingly enough, they both have anger problems that they both try to hold in, (which the shows is ends up being unhealthy). Cassandra hides them because she is uncomfortable showing emotion and Rapunzel hides them because she wants people to see her as the optimistic sunshiny person she is and seeing her angry would (so she believes) negatively impact the people who look to her as a leader. (Also because, let’s face it, that “trying to be friends” thing does sometimes crack and makes her go scary) Excellent video! So happy to see more people talking about this amazing show!

I was so excited for this show when it came out because of how much I adore the movie. However, I was so worried it would be a cash grab and end up feeling like a cheap knockoff and I'm so happy I couldn't have been more wrong. The show explored the depth of each character, fleshed out the lore, and made the world feel like a real world. I'm so happy I saw it and can see myself watching it many more times
I recently saw the show (and although I did slightly spoil myself with listening to some songs beforehand) I can say that this is the best tv series adaptation a Disney movie has had in a LONG while. I didn’t think it would have such an interesting story and yet it does, although there were parts of the series that ended up frustrating me a lot (ahem Terrapi Island arc) it did end up aiding the plot of the series a bit. As someone who has been obsessed with the show for 2 years now, Disney Channel really did this show dirty, and barely gave it a chance to have the views it deserved, there were barely any advertisements for it and the episodes really only aired once! There weren't that many reruns, so most people that see this show without knowing much about just look at it and say "oh this is just another one of Disney's cash grabs for 5 year olds" and I'm sad to admit I was one of those people, but I'm so glad I gave the show a chance cause at least for me, it's the best TV series I've ever watched, and it seriously has changed my life for the better, and I would recommend this show to anyone
I think all of this caused there to be lower viewership and as a result, I think Disney forced them to rush season three to rap up. that's just a guess though - de Janglez

And now it’s been confirmed that the Princess and the Frog and Moana are getting their own TV shows, and if they are half as good as Tangled the series I’m gonna be a happy camper.
I'm either regressing during quarantine or kids shows are getting better and better. This show, Carmen Sandiego and Trollhunters were some of the best shows I watched in the past year lol
Oh Man, kid's shows are definitely getting better. Gravity falls, star VS the forces of evil, the new Shera...they have all been amazing- de Janglez
Please make a spoiler analysis. I am begging you! ;w;
if they don’t make a cassandra and varian sequel i will RIOT!
THANK YOU. MY LORD. WHY WAS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS WHEN IT WAS ON??!!😭😭😭
Even the fandom is kinda dead now☹️
Glad you enjoyed it. - de Janglez
Disney didn't promote it enough
@@honeykyleburgos3762 which is a perplexing to say the least. - de Janglez
I wish they made the Varian spin off-
Mostly because everyone says Varian gets gets with hugo from the spin off ;-;
Varian and Rapunzel are equal in my favorite characters. I love this show so freaking much the only problem I have with it is actually with the fandom
more specifically: people in Cass and Varian's fandoms.
Love the passion. That is the same drive that made me want to write about it - de Janglez
I love Varian and hate cassandra, but to me its everyone's fault for Varian's part, and for cassandra tbh her reason wasnt good enough to become a villain to me
@Dora Stephania Campoverde agree
@@silent935 @Silent ngl...I really love Cass but I agree. She blamed Rapunzel for literally EVERYTHING that she hated about her life. I especially didn't like it when she said "my whole life I have been set aside for YOU" And I'm just like...girl...she was locked away and abused for 18 years
@@ladyofways agreed about the part of blaming Rapunzel
Yup
Tangled the Series is a thing,
A very GOOD thing!
Great review. Cassandra is such a unique Disney female character and I just adore her!
14:34 "Something you might see between sisters"
oooooooooooOOOOOOHHHHH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Just a thought I had...- de Janglez
@@CinemastersUltimateTimeline look, I don’t care what word Raps found in the Great Tree when reaching for “deeper than friendship”, she doesn’t know what she’s talking about, at least on Cass’ side people don’t look at their sisters like that!
(This is of course an issue of the writers who were going for a sisterly dynamic vs the wlw among the storyboarders who had very different ideas about Cassandra’s feelings)
This show is the BEST THING that could ever happen to me. I've been watching it since it first released and I cried at the beginning of and as well as when it ended this year. I've re watched it almost 10 times at this point and it shall always hold a special place in my heart .....
My favorite song is nothing left to lose and and ready as I’ll ever be
Nothing Left to loose is my favorite to sing (or attempt to sing)- de Janglez
@@CinemastersUltimateTimeline true I should have added that in there “ attempt to sing”
To me Ready As I’ll Ever Be and Nothing Left To Lose are like the Let It Go and Show Yourself of Tangled. In fact when I listen to music I normally listen to Let It Go Nothing Left To Lose Show Yourself and Ready As I’ll Ever Be in different languages because I’m obsessed with Frozen Tangled and languages.
Rapunzel will always be my favorite princess
don't tell Belle but I think she's mine too. - de Janglez
It's great that both the compplete series of Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers and Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure are released on Blu-Ray but I still wished that the rest of my past favourites Disney animated Series like The Gummie Bears, Darkwing Duck, Wuzzles, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules, Mighty Ducks,House of Mouse, Kim Possible and American Dragon Jake Long because they deserved to be released onto Blu- Ray too.
They are apparently working on a Gargoyles reboot which I am stoked for. IT sucks that Disney keeps pulling or not making certain shows available for streaming... i don't trust them anymore. not after they took Willow down only weeks after it was released. Thanks for watching. - de Janglez
*Eugene Stannies Rise UP!*
I am so so so happy more people are talking about this show ♥️♥️💀
Got to get the word out there- de Janglez
I can't begin to express how much I love that you spoke to how female characters who fight are considered "strong" while those who are more nurturing are still perceived as too passive or weak despite the fact that this still plays very much into the traditional "masculine" definitions of strength instead of empowering "feminine" traits to be seen as strengths.
Hey, I am so glad you felt the same way. It's hard to express in-depth topics while still being entertaining so I really appreciate that you took the time to comment that you got it. Thanks so much - de Janglez
I like the lineless art, as much as I like Varian, y e s
We talk about it all the time. It ended 1 year ago and Disney did not promote it
glad to hear it, spread the word my dudes. - de Janglez
THANK YOU for being as excited about Menken finally getting EGOT status as me haha! And thank you for putting into words, words that aren't just repetitive, vague, and semi-coherent, why this show is awesome and needs to be appreciated. It was a joy to watch.
Have you thought of watching She-ra and the Princesses of Power? I was watching Tangled the Series and She-ra interchangeably for a whole month a while back. Best month of my life. Both shows are a delight and very sophisticated.
I am waiting to finish it but I already have some thoughts brewing - de Janglez

Loveeeee this show! And wowie you deserve way more subs!! :)
We certainly wouldn't say no to that. Thank you.
Eugene is so underrated istg
(Also because, let’s face it, that “trying to be friends” thing does sometimes crack and makes her go scary)
Excellent video! So happy to see more people talking about this amazing show!

(Big ,big spoiler alert, literally every main Spoiler below)
Me, who first found the show through Ready as I'll ever be, naturally, then forgot about it until watching a theory on how Cass would betray Rapunzel (which also clearly spelt out the arc with Varian up til then) and not looking fully into the show until finding videos on Cass's betrayal after the end of season 2 but not having anywhere to watch it until finding a channel that posted full episodes as they came out so watching clips from seasons 1 and 2 but watching the entirety of season 3 as it came out before finally going back and watching the first two seasons properly and watching Before ever after as the very last thing pretty much: oops
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS! I am so happy there’s someone else who understands my obsession with this show

Tangled the series is one of my favourite shows and I still watch it a lot Cassandra is my favourite character.😀😀😀😀😀😀
She's a dope character for sure. - de Janglez
It took 2 years bit finally there are more people are talking about this show. And I am loving it!!😁
I recently saw the show (and although I did slightly spoil myself with listening to some songs beforehand) I can say that this is the best tv series adaptation a Disney movie has had in a LONG while. I didn’t think it would have such an interesting story and yet it does, although there were parts of the series that ended up frustrating me a lot (ahem Terrapi Island arc) it did end up aiding the plot of the series a bit. All in all I’m really glad I watched this show.
Yeah, the last time I was this engaged with a Disney show adaptation was Aladdin. - de Janglez
Never saw this(just the movie), which was great! Phineas & Ferb was a great show, too!
THis show is great AND we are getting more Phineas and Ferb. - de Janglez

@@CinemastersUltimateTimeline np
Same, I'd really like that
As someone who has been obsessed with the show for 2 years now, Disney Channel really did this show dirty, and barely gave it a chance to have the views it deserved, there were barely any advertisements for it and the episodes really only aired once!
Anyone else notice how lance looks like his actor?

TANGLED THE SERIES IS THE BEST REBOOT OF A MOVIE EVER
I’ve always wondered why Disney just threw in OH YEAH MOTHER GOTHEL WAS CASSANDRA’S MOTHER
Her villain arc did work but it just was a bit unneeded to do that story
They could have done it better personally
That’s my only complaint I love the rest of this I enjoyed it and the ending made me happy

This is the reason i always prefer a series to a sequel. The graphics nay be low quality, ( not in this case) but we get so much more lore.
