No, thx.
LISA!!!! That moss wall idea is so flipping cool!! It looks so amazing....the whole thing does. Great job lady 🤗🥳
Yeah, the wall is really cool, dumb question ...I'm assuming you glued the moss to the screen?
You are so talented, Lisa. Thank you for sharing. I've been in a depression since we've gone thru that March 21st, 2022 totnado and haven't even bothered to watch fish videos. I lost all my fish, sadly. But I decided to watch you again. This is the first video I have ACTUALLY WATCHED since the disaster. There IS hope. I am going to start over with a little tank. That way I can grab and go with it if I have to. I just love you and your softness. God bless. I lost my adorable flowerhorn that was like a puppy, a lot of green terrors and they were just my ALL babies. 😩
I hope you feel better, take it slow if you need to. I hope that fishkeeping brings you joy once again!
It's beautiful Lisa, awesome job. I have had no luck with moss, people say it's the simplest thing to grow, mine always dies, oh well, other plants do well in my tanks. Maybe the company doesn't include a heater, because a lot of nano fish/shrimp don't need a heater, or maybe it's because it would boost the price tag of their product too high. It's wonderful that you are an advocate for the Betas, they do deserve so much better. Take care, be well
Great timing, Lisa. This Aquatop Venti 2 gallon is a delicious little tank. I bought one a few months ago to grow out baby plants. Also added some tiny pieces of wood and salvinia. And some ramshorn snails, intending to eventually add shrimp. This itty-bitty kit light really grows plants, although I did switch out the kit filter for a tiny sponge filter. I love the smoked background, a very classy touch. It's my little kitchen gem tank and I love it! I'm also a fan of the Fritz Nature Box. Thanks for this great video!
Question: I see y'all talking about the Frist Nature Box. Is it ok to use similar items from our own yards? If so, do they need to be cleaned or sterilized in a specific way? THANKS!
I would love to hear more about the kit filter and why it didn't work for you. I am considering purchasing a 5g Venti but there aren't many reviews out there as yet.
@@Sudz321The kit filter is a neat corner unit, but I'm partial to standard sponge filters. That's the only reason I switched it out. This is a gorgeous tank, excellent quality.
Love the idea of a moss wall. I just bought the same plastic to make a moss wall, but hang it with suction cups.
Beautiful scape.
You laugh, but once we start our tank, we are gonna save some of the water after changes to water plants with. Just in case yall wanted a garden tip, fish water makes happy healthy plants. It's why indigenous folk on the east coast used to bury fish with the corn
I use the dirty tank water to water my houseplants. My African violets are gorgeous.
My plants love fish poop water lol free fertilizer🥰
Even if it's water from cleaning the sponge (pre)filter, I always keep some to water the plants.
Fish sh*t is gold!!
I also pump my used water on my plants trees etc...,
That is an amazing aquascape. I love the moss walls. I never thought of using plastic to make a moss wall.
That is a really great looking scape! I've never kept shrimp, but this has made me consider. Thank you.
I noticed your Texas flag in your profile picture-- I'm also a Texan, and just wanted to let you know that neocaridina shrimp seem to looove our hard, mineral-rich Texan water! I've set up a handful of different shrimp tanks, and other than dechlorinator, I don't have to modify our water at all. They THRIVE just being left alone!
I totally recommend trying shrimp- they really do bring so much more joy than you'd expect from a tiny invertebrate. They're such goofy little things!
Ps. Those "Fritz Nature Boxes" Lisa mentions are basically like having "cheat codes" for shrimp- I use 1 in every tank! :)
@@GigglemonsterXD "Cheat codes" Ha, Ha, Ha.
Thank you, i'M considering even more to do a scaped shrimp tank.
P.S. I don't use Dechlorinator just fill up milk jugs and let the water sit for minimum 24 hours or a few days before water change.
@@MerkDolf can't do that anymore we just will deport them
Beautiful. We can always depend on you to creation such unique scapes.
That's so freaking cool Lisa good work! Can't wait to see what else comes up this year for you guys
I think that the moss wall is a great idea and works very well indeed.
I love that moss wall! I used some of that plastic mesh to make a divider for a tank last week, but now I'm really wishing I'd attached some moss to it first lol.
I don’t have the patience for scaping but and totally amazed with what you scapers do
Thanks Lisa! Am getting interested in cherry shrimp myself at the moment and bought a 14lt cube for them. They are cute little creatures to watch - always busy! Keep us up yo date with progress. All the best for 2023 to both of you. k
Beautiful! The moss wall is amazing!
Oh I really love that tank. Your vision turned out awesome. I'm going to have to "borrow" your idea of the moss wall. Very cool idea.
To make a moss wall this way is such an awesome idea. Looks amazing 😊
Love the little tank, lisa! And I see what you did there john with that 240.
What a lovely tank! I've been wanting to do a shrimp tank for some time now and your video has made me so inspired! 😄
Gorgeous scape Lisa! I'm working on an upgrade for my bettas. Definitely my favourite fish. Now following your recommendation of feeding spirulina every few days. Had a swim bladder issue a few days ago on one of my boys. Fed him some daphnia and he was perfect by the next day. Lesson learned! You and John are awesome!
This was your best video yet you are really getting good at presenting
Wow turned out Stunning!!!!!!
Nice little aquarium! The moss wall is going to look epic in few weeks!
Nice idea using that mesh and glue. Making a moss wall is somewhat difficult. I made few moss walls in the past from two layers of either wall plaster mesh or a mosquito net with moss inbetween, but I never fastened it that well to the glass. Instead of glue I used fishline, tape (outside) and rocks (inside). I ended up with more hair algae than moss.
I even tried a slate rock, but even glass was better for the moss to grow on.
Thanks guys
This video came out at a perfect timing! I was just thinking of creating a shrimp tank since I have an extra 5 gallon
Great Job Lisa !!!!!! I am going to do the same thing.
That looks great 👍. I kinda did the same but it's a ramshorn tank to feed my pea puffers 😃
That's a perfect desk or counter tank - still missing y'all on Thursdays- Thanks Lisa, really a nice tank💕👍
Awesome video! Amazing content, keep up the great work!
Love the moss walls! It's genius and I want to try it. Your entire aqua scape for the shrimp in that tiny tank is beautiful!
Stunner! That came out beautifully 😍
👍😎 Beta Bud’s … that’s what you should call it. Thought about that moss wall before too, good job Lisa
Hi, Lisa. What a beautiful tank! I love how you scaped it, and your shrimp seem to be very happy with their new home. I can’t wait to see more projects like this, shrimp are so fun to watch. ❤
Thanks Wendy!
Love it ! Very good idea with the moss wall. I will try it someday too ! Thanks for sharing !!!!!
Shrimply brilliant!
looks awesome
I'm very happy that you're promoting the right size of tank for betta fish and I completely agree with you. However, it breaks my heart when I hear this after the sad ordeal I had to witness half a year ago. As a total betta fish keeping novice, I was forced with my heart to make a quick decision on whether or not to save 5 very neglected betta fish in a pet store. Long story short these little guys would have died of I didn't give them another try. I even paid for them because I was too upset to argue. I housed them in individual Tupperware for over a month, gradually going up to 2.5 gallons tupperwares and I was constantly cleaning their mess I never let their hospital tanks get messy. Everyday I watched over them, hoping their fins would grow back because they shriveled up and burned away. And guess what? They all survived and I was a very happy mother. However, I can only keep smaller tanks in my one bedroom apartment. I have three 5 gallon tanks, a 4 and four 3s. All have shrimp air filters and all have heaters. All get a healthy diet even frozen live food. All have access to light and love. I even have an emegency plan for a power out. Please keep promoting the larger tanks. Small tanks really aren't good homes. But after what my boys had endure in the pet store, please try not to be too hard on those who try their absolute to save those who cannot save them selves. I'm doing my best.
Cute little nano tank Lisa!
Turkey baster to clean betta tanks... Decades ago I switched how I clean my 10 & 20 gallon bare bottom breeding/grow out tanks. I use a rigid air tube, like those for UGF lift tubes (3/16"), with air line hose attached. I drain them into a plastic trash can and use a submersed pump to send the water to my sink. I found it a bit quicker and easier than a turkey baster. 😉
Thank you for that idea 🙂
🙀
Wow, Lisa! That little tank looks so nice.
Nice tank and I am looking into a shrimp tank. The Bettas and shrimp don’t mix. Well the Bettas liked it.
I would consider Betta poop as a tank starter. I use the water changed for the plants.
Lisa, I ❤ your work..
Nice job Lisa!
Team kgtropicals another awesome video guys tank came out awesome Lisa keep up the great work guys love all your videos see you on the next one keep them coming!!
What an awesome little tank and a super scape. The moss walls came out so well. That tank is lookin' really good, Lisa.
👍💖👍
Thank you 🙂
What a nice idea to add the moss wall! And also great for those who have no space but for Nano tanks like myself!
I just built my first betta tank in a 9 gallon fluval flex with a six shrimp and now I was thinking about another one for the bedroom with just shrimp. Perfect timing.
GREAT JOB ! LOVE IT !
beautiful setup, i've got to set up one of these on my desktop also
I've been using small tanks to raise baby mystery snails. Even my one gallon tank I can put 5 or 6 newly-hatched sized snails in there no problem all the way up to maybe 4 or 5 weeks old. I wouldn't let them get any much larger than that in a 1-gallon, but it's useful for getting them started. And rather surprisingly, the water parameters in that 1 gallon tank are among the most stable of all the tanks I run. Not sure how, but good for me.
This one turned out amazing! I want to do a good looking brine shrimp one!
very cool!
Pro tip: that platic mesh comes in loads of different colors. Such as black or even green
Lisa, the moss wall was exceptional! My main tank is a planted 75 which makes it difficult to scrape algae off back wall. The black background helps, but you can still see it. This moss wall might take a bit for the size, but I've got time. After all, what are fish tanks if not a journey. Probably doesn't apply to competitions, but most of us hobbyists have time on our side. Thanks for such a great idea 💡
Lisa this is so pretty!! You need to show us more scapes ❤
Lisa, the tank looks so cool! My daughter loves the moss wall idea so much she thinks I should do one in my shrimp tank. Gives me something to do with my way overgrown java moss from my big tank!
That really turned out nice!
Moss looks amazing
geat job lisa
Surprisingly i have my Betta in a 20 gallon and i have a back bubble wall. I always catch him swimming in the bubble wall against the current. I think he loves it lol 😂. I love all of yalls videos.
Love this! Do you superglue the moss to the canvas, or sew it on?
Hi Shelly, This is Lisa 😉 I used Gorilla glue. But just a dab or else it looks crusty white once it dries.
This is fantastic. I love the moss wall. I bet if you used black or green mesh it would blend in a bit more.
Great ideas all around!
I've learned so much from this channel. Thank you both so much for all the insight and encouragement!!
Oh no now i have go and buy another tank lol i want a shimp tank now and will try copy your scape, thank you lisa another great vid
Very cool, Lisa! I love everything about this. My shrimp have not done well in my 5 gal., so I think I'm going to try your scaping ideas. thanks!
Hi Lisa. Well again you did a great job and the shimp tank looks great too.🌹🌹😊
Love it! Looks really cozy. I'd love to try a 2/3 gallon desktop tank someday.
I am attempting this..thanks for all the advice
You are so creative. Greater than great
I love nano tanks. This one is beautiful, great build
Use patio screen for your moss wall. It looks a little nicer
Lisa, Nicely done. Enjoy your channel
Holy smokes! When you said small, you weren't kidding. I'm not sure I'd have been able to get my hand in there to do any scaping at all other than my traditional pile of rocks in the middle.
It looks fantastic! So mysterious, I really hope you show us updates on how this matures! ❤
The moss wall turned out super nice!
What a outstanding Shrimp Sanctuary. You did a very good job on it. This video has inspired me to make a Shrimp Sanctuary. I just got a Aqueon 3 Gallon 9.25" Cubed Aquarium today for 50% off. I'm going to use some of your ideas for my Shrimp Sanctuary. Thank you very much for this informative video. 😊😊😊
Love this Lisa!! Great ideas.
You did a beautiful job on the tank, thank you. I never thought of putting a critter in my 2 and 5 gallon tanks. I use them to dip my goldfish in with salt or something. They go years without use. Great Idea!
very cute
Outstanding Lisa! I am going to do the moss wall in my Marineland 5G Portrait where my rescue betta lives. I think we are going to both be very happy.
Awesome job
I've almost settled on turning my 33 gallon into a shrimp tank. 😊
I love the tank! It looks like a tiny prehistoric world. 😊
I’m about to set up a 2.5 at my work office, also putting shrimp shrimp! 🦐
gorgeous tank
What a great scape! I have a vintage 3 gal tank I have set up and plan on putting shrimp in. I have never kept shrimp before so really informatie. I also have set up a 12 gallon tank and want to block the back walls the moss sreen is perfect!
Lisa, I'll let you in on a little secret. There is an abundance of arguments over pronunciation in the science community! The aquarium community might have an "established" choice, but microbiology is different!
This is good to know 🙂
@@rootsnwhiskers8351 also, holy smokes! That moss grew in like crazy! Love this little tank!
Where do you get the Tropica plants from?
Small tanks are perfect for betta fish and perfect for ornamental shrimp
Absolutely 💯 awesome you have some serious skills ❤
This looks great. I would love another update video!
love to see videos like this. inspires me to think of a second tank before I have set up my first one in many years
I have my eye on this because I think it would be so cool. Was just telling my hubby how I would love a shrimp tank setup. I would love some more ideas on setting up an original acquascape design for shrimp.
Lisa, I would love to hear a more in depth review of the Venti. There isn't many out there. I am especially wondering what others think of the filter that comes with it.
great video! I don't see a link to KG tropical for purchase :)
I butcher the names of plants, fish and inverts all the time. Join the club. Nice to see the Tropica products. Always wanted to make a moss wall. Keep creating the great art!
This is great!😃
I love this idea, thank you! ❤
Great video Lisa! I just got into keeping shrimp and I love them. I have just 3 bamboo shrimp right now but they are so interesting
Looks nice.
The exact video I needed, I currently have a 6ish gallon I'm putting together for some future shrimp. I love your tank 👏
Luv this Lisa video 😘
