SagittariusCorp Thats a stupid reason. I just tried a couple times this morning and just decided to check in later when i realized it wasn't available to watch.
Pains me to explain everytime why I love this game. Many people still think fighting games are all button mashers or just about knowing long flashy combos
Well yeah, when top players are locked in mortal combat, they either come out dead or alive based on the strength of their finely tuned killer instict.
Keenan Robinson Lol it's cause the video was up for a while but you couldn't watch it, said it was unavailable for like th first couple of hours it was up
I have met Ryan in person, he really is a lovely person. He saw me playing Dudley for the first time and gave me some pointers on how to improve.....this was YEARS ago when folks were still chilling in the arcades together
The video was released but IGN did not make it available. Basically, you could seemly thumbnail, but the video was not playing saying IGN did not make it available.
I'm really going to have to grab Tekken 7 for myself. I've been enjoying it a lot more than Street Fighter unfortunately until it comes out I only can play it at the arcade.
Actually RZA is a big fan of the series and theres this article on method man and RZA trynna buy a cabinet of tekken in the l8 90s unscucessfully also in his ama on Reddit he stated that he plays MKX the more u know! *flies away*
Thanks for producing content like this. This video series looks like a great way for new players to learn the basics of this game. Also you don't need a fightstick to play Tekken at a high level. Pad works extremely well for Tekken, so stick to the pad if you're uncomfortable on a stick.
This is amazing. I really like Ryan as a coach not just because of his accolades, but he embodies all the aspects of how being an avid and effective gamer in general can benefit you with knowledge and thinking ability. It sheds a much better light on gamers than the clowns you often see paraded.
Even though I'm watching this a year or two after it's been released, I have a lot of respect for my guy wanting to learn the game and also that apple catch 🔥🔥
I totally get the catching the apple thing. When I first started playing fighting games (SSF4:AE) I was at a fast food restaurant and had my window rolled down. I needed to keep the receipt for expense purposes and it was loose in the car with my window down. As I was pulling out the wind began to whip the receipt around the inside of my car and I instantly reached out and grabbed it while driving out of the parking lot.
The Illuminati Yeah it definitely takes years to get good. However, if he's practicing everyday for two weeks. He'll at least reach his goal of holding his own in tournament and convincing people he plays
there's no way you could "get good" at MK or DOA or at any serious fighting game in two weeks, Every game is technical in its own way, i know Tekken veteran that can't win in Street Fighter despite their knowledge of the game and decent training
Wow I'm actually really surprised on how well done this series has been so far. It reminds me a bit of the earlier days of G4/tech tv. I hope to see more videos like this
This was actually super fun to watch, I can’t wait to see the rest. You should try this series with other fighting games like street fighter, Guilty Gear, and smash. That’d be so great!
This was a lot of fun to watch. It's like a higher production value version of Super Couch Fighters' Dojo series where once a year they take someone who hasn't played a fighting game and teach them how to be great. They're hour long episodes of in game lessons though. That series got me into SFV competitively.
I have a UK gaming magazine from 1998 that talks about Ryan's accolades as the most winning'ist fighting game tournament player in history. So he has remained at the top of fighting game competition worldwide for the past 20 years. He did a great interview too where he went over his fighting game history up to that point. He is literally the Jedi of the FGC.
I remember my first time playing Tekken was back on 2004. It was Tekken 5! Hahah WOW. I remember practicing breaking grabs and air combos! My Tekken pals are still my friends now and this has help our friendship a lot.
That pro player teaching him is Ryan and he is like pulling off some nasty combos along with acting skills? This dude have a side hussel in commercials like what? This video was so awesome and how people who play fighting games should introduce these types of games; the fun way..
As a Tekken Noob, this is awesome. Pre-ordered and now beginning my learning. I think I might have to switch from my choice of Steve as my main. His juggle combos are mad technical. I played T2 vs AI back in the day on PS1 and played a little of Yoshi on T5 vs an okay Xiaoyu player. Good stuff. I need Ryan at my house to teach me....and a stick.
All of the knowledge and training this guy is receiving less than half of the tekken community still hasn't learned or been taught. He has a wayyy better shot. I'd love to see someone try to learn everything on their own and try to make the pros believe em!
"So what brings you to the interest of learning Tekken?" "IGN came up with this idea and here I am" is the honest answer, so why force him say anything else?
Damn. My first thought was that the opponent is most vulnerable right after their attack has been blocked. Then I remembered the loading screen tip, still before he answered the question. I'm still a Tekken noob. Almost forgot about the series. It was only last December when I saw Tekken 7 on steam winter sale. Didn't even know it had came out on PC! I was so hyped, had to buy it that instant. Always liked the series, ever since I played Tekken 3 at my friends house as a kid. Soon after buying the game on steam and playing through the story, I started watching some tournaments, streams, youtube guides etc. and learned about frame data and all that jazz. This game is way more complex and awesome than I ever imagined as a kid. I'm so disappointed that we didn't have internet back then, if I knew the game was this deep and we had online play, I would've fallen in love with it 20+ years earlier. Didn't really have any friends who played the game seriously and sadly my parents were really strict with violence in video games and didn't let me get the game for myself - Tekken kind of just faded from my memory.
ryan seems like such a cool guy! man crush! by the looks of things, a world class gamer and also such a great teacher. need more folks like that gentleman.

munnypantz I swear I've heard that Daigo was the first gamer in the Guiness book
man, new VF would be great
makes him even cooler!! smooth guy
Number 1 is wrong.
Then he's the afro samurai?
"Where is the opponent most vulnerable?"
The head?
Bruh this ain't a FPS lol
yeah everyone knows the correct answer is the genitals
huckmart 99 well considering that he went on naming body parts I think you're wrong.
Hunting Hawk c
mohammed hgf that's debatable nothing your opponent can do in the air, he can still block in a corner
mohammed hgf he is most vulnerable in the startup or recovery frames, the biggest defense weakness is a bad attack
8:41 - Ryan was reading all 28 anticipation pose frames on Nino's throw.
It would be funny nino playing as Nina 😁😁
Nino's journey to the Tekken 7 Championships continues in episode 2, where he takes his training to the next level in a public arcade, before the final tournament in episode 3. You can watch them both below:

no one cares
honestly, i have no idea where the dislikes are coming from, i loved this video, and am excited for the next episodes!!!!
This was great, I'm not sure why there's so many dislikes ( I don't think most viewers even know why) but keep up the good work!
Sapphire Rogue it was inaccessible for 3 hours
i like this
For people wondering why, there's so much dislikes because IGn initially blocked the video (it was inaccessible)
SagittariusCorp Thats a stupid reason. I just tried a couple times this morning and just decided to check in later when i realized it wasn't available to watch.
L Hall its not stupid at all you noob, that makes them more motivated to NOT mess up again. Use your head!
🤔.........that guy☝🏽...is sad...
Roman Prokhorov Agreed
Sagittarius Modding not many people know that word😂😂😂
to anybody wondering why there so many dislikes is because the video was on their channel for 3 hours and the footage was not available.
probably couldn't catch the apple themselves lol
Man, I love that Pro Tekken players voice! He sounds cool af!
The noob guy is very cute.
He's a legend and he also speak Japanese fluently
Lobster222 the pro or the noobie? :) とにかく、面白いね!
the pro
It's like Morgan Freeman is acting the Tekken God.
"Can a noob fake it as a Tekken Pro?"
No, obviously not.
No
Yes, its obviously not

Have u ever heard of Leroy?
It seems like ign is doing more stuff like this. It's becoming more of an entertainment channel and a news channel, I love that.
I love how serious the Ryan Hart is while teaching the game, his technicality is so smooth. He’s like the Afro Samurai of Tekken with bandana n• 1
When you know how to play this game it really is extremely psychological. More so than any other game I've played.
kbg12ila You seriously have to love this game to put up with the psychological warfare of it all!
Pains me to explain everytime why I love this game. Many people still think fighting games are all button mashers or just about knowing long flashy combos
Unpredictability is key to be a decent player in Tekken :3
kbg12ila Not Soulcaliber, sorry.
same as fighting in real life. That's why this game is so badass.
I 'd love to be trained by Ryan. Hell, meeting him would be cool since he seems so chill.
When he caught the apple awesome!
Christian Studios 20 years of reflex school.
Christian Studios probably staged but yeah, awesome looking
Joan Ricart well that's possible but yeah still awesome looking
ELCNUmorFnaMehT Is there really a school for that? Lol and if their is dang!
"Reflex school", yeah most of us end up _missing_ it.

Jowiro03 this reply got more likes then the actual comment XD
Why are there so many dislikes? This isn't bad.
I'm guessin its salty people who lost to Ryan, then again it could just be people with a vastly different opinion from him.
Keenan Robinson it was uploaded very early and the video wasn't made available by ign. So it was kinda pointless till now.

The video was released but IGN did not make it available. Basically, you could seemly thumbnail, but the video was not playing saying IGN did not make it available.
Probably elitists like me, pro in Tekken requires alot not just practice and notes.
Ive been playing my friends so long I usually don't bother juggling them to death anymore cause they stop playing xD
You should teach them
Allow me to emphasize this:
*Tekken is one of the hardest competitive games known to eSports*
Easy to pick up, but really hard to master.
Tekken requires a very particular set of skills.
Also... it would be nice if you included the name of the guys in the description of the video so we can see if they have other content out there.
VZA The Tekken players name is Ryan Hart
Ali Behrooz i thought he was only a street fighter player
Kirby C He started as a Tekken player tho
my name is ninooooooooooooooooooooooo

A: Right in the apples.
