I was only born in 97 but its so funny how people back when i was a kid would say "ford is trash". I really dont know where that notion came from. Even in other countries looking over here. I think it's because there were some crappy cars in their lineup throughout the years but generally they were pretty reliable. American's don't take care of their cars as well as others do in general as well. Honestly ford even nowadays is "decent" vs the competition. Definitly the most reliable American brand at least. Their ecoboosts can last 250-300k which is impressive for tubrocharged engines.
You guys are lucky that the Autobahn can even exist in your country because your citizens actually care to understand how to drive on a 3+ lane highway. Hoovie you're the man you just made crazy D's whole decade bro!!! He may be subtle and not going crazy about the gift but when he sat down in it you could see him just fill with joy!
Just googled it, unpainted replacement part is $200, less from a wrecker where you might even find a color match. He can sell his old truck for more than that. I wouldn't be complaining. What I would be doing is dropping the oil, changing the air, fuel and oil filters and putting fresh oil in it, then getting on the phone to ring around some wreckers to find one that had been rear ended. Once I found one I'd probably go looking for a shop manual for my 'new' Lincon to see how to swap the bumper cover out.
@@SoLDMG Quite a lot of people need a car for work reasons in dispersed areas where there is not much (or any) public transport. The problem is the jobs often don't pay well and many prospective carbuyers on a very tight budget just do not have the knowledge to know which old cars are a sensible choice, reliable and not going to bankrupt them. So yes, 'Homes for Hoopties' could be a very good idea indeed.
This is a charity we can all get behind. Too many people start charities for the “look at me” factor or to make money. This small act of kindness made a huge impact on someone’s life and kept a perfectly fine vehicle out of the crusher. Hoovie out there touching lives and saving the environment.
I have a 99 with 74k miles, clean title second owner and honestly these are really great boat haulers. Smooth soft sofa on 4 wheels. It's a daily, getting 10 a gal but it screams reliability.
EDIT: even though you’re not keeping it, I can think of no better purpose for this Navigator. I hope Crazy D and his family enjoy it! My mom leased one of these brand new when I was a kid! Very nice move giving away the Lincoln to someone who needed it. Lots of miles left in this vehicle, and looks like the new owner really appreciates it. Nicely done!
Back in 2011 I bought a 1998 Buick Park Avenue Base model for my 100 round trip mile commute, My wife complained about little things on that car like the seat belts, dug into her neck and you could only pull the seat belt out slowly because the mechanical retractor would lock if pulled out quickly. I drove that car for 175,000 miles and when I retired I sold the car. When I sold the car and signed off the title I just handed all the money to the wife. First she said to me was she like the car. For seven years all she did was complain about that car. She said the luxury of the car was what she liked.

Thats very true what he said, “ford will go down the road broken more than anything else”
3:23 "they were crazy about badge engineerring to make sure nobody mistook it for a Lincoln"
Ok Hoovie👴
"Highway speeds"
*German laughing in the background*
You guys are lucky that the Autobahn can even exist in your country because your citizens actually care to understand how to drive on a 3+ lane highway. In America it would never actually work because you would just have some idiots staying in the left lane and not moving over, and then everyone else thinks the middle lane is the "travel lane"
I grew up in the back of one of these things and they hold a special place in my heart. Many beanie baby’s were hauled in that thing. We were a ford family. 2002 Nav, ford Taurus, 1997 mustang gt convertible)
ahh my dad has this in the early 2000s, can’t forget the huge chrome spinners, huge subs, and a built in PS2
Anthony Mawe must of had a cool 😎 dad
Good man, spread the joy, feel the love. Merry Christmas to you Mr Hooptie, hope you have a good one.
11:37 You can see he's trying not to cry of joy, he's really happy. 😃
Nice truck, glad you didn’t murder it. Also glad someone who needs a decent vehicle got one.
props for passing on that Christmas miracle onto someone in need!
Hoovie January 2019: you will no longer watch many new purchases as I'm building my new house this year...
Hoovie December 2019: yet another purchase for the month fellas, $400 Lincoln...
And give it away for free for a person in need. I think it's a few exceptions that we can let that slide
@@1985toyotacamry Definitely a great gesture on Hoovies side. I was just making fun of the fact that he contradicts himself so much hehe
He can purchase some of these cheap vehicles with the income he gets from the videos. No big deal
You always seemed like a genuinely nice guy this just sealed the deal. Great video!
"Good guy hoovie buys a good condition luxury truck for 400 bucks. Gives it away for Christmas"
My first car ever when I turned 18 was a 96 burgundy Lincoln town car with those exact seats and I sold mine for 400 dollars with 140k miles keep spreading the love .....
This thing still has more equipment than some modern cars 😂
Like what?
@@po.russki My 2010 Yaris with crank windows and no power locks.

Po Russki heated and cooled seats.
"A Ford will go down the road with more wrong with it than anything else."
I know that for a fact between my two second gen Exploders XD
Many old Ford's on life support these days...
Lol my grandpa had a 2nd gen explorer with lots broken and had 350k miles, still going strong when he traded it in for a new navigator 😂
I had a ford contour with the v6 and it had 263k miles, had 13 different codes, some transmission, engine, power steering, fuel, emissions, ect. had issues but i drove it on a 400 mile round trip without real issues. Have even droven it with only half a jug of coolant in it without overheating when it takes 2 jugs. I remember it once wouldnt shift out of 1st or second so i drove it 7 miles back home at 4600rpms, and it didnt get very hot, despite going up hill a 1/3 of the time
One of the cars my father owns is a year 2000 model ford falcon AU2 sedan that runs on LPG from the factory. It has done over 800,000km and still runs but is at the point where things are falling appart and probably at this point has almost no value.
Lawrence Lentini I drove a second gen explorer with a cracked exhaust manifold and a check engine light for over a year with no probs. It was a little loud, but that didn’t bother me. 😅
Had one the exact color but 2002. I myself needed the room that the big guy needs. Awesome gift ! He is stoked !!

So Generous
“Big Dave Needs a BRAND new vehicle”
U r VERY generous.. that must be the Kansas/ Mid West style of gift giving. Such great people
J J does the wizard pay him
$4 an hour???
SonnyGTA
$4 sounds about right HAHA
mayb he is an indentured servant, and he needs to by his freedom
I definitely like this one, it made my day. It always pays to be a blessing to others. Side note: He does remind me of John Candy...especially from Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
I have a 2006 Mercury Mountaineer Premiere V8 AWD, and I love it, all leather seats heated, nav in dash, 3rd row, rear temp control, mine is set up as like a perfect dad overland vehicle. Great off road, great for towing up to 7klbs, and great to clean up and dress it up for a nice night out.
The Wizard is like “wait, you actually bought something that isn’t a train wreck?”
It's so nice to see this car get a forever home. lol
In my Matthew McConoughey voice:
"Do I have a fleet of hoopties, or does a hooptie fleet have me?"
Ahh best comment ever!
💯
That was a very beautiful thing you did for that man. Made my day!
"In the arms of an angel" ran through my head when I saw his dog
Thats a really sad song. Makes me cry...
I love my 1st Gen Expedition 5.4 - 2VALVE the best engine for long term service. I have 162K on mine and my sons Expy has 222K with all the work done to it and serviced properly and smooth! well done on the 1st Gen Navy.
You're a good man! That was very nice of you. Happy holidays to you and your family.
This is the reason why I love Mr. Tyler Hoover! Greets from Germany!
Hoovie you're the man you just made crazy D's whole decade bro!!! He may be subtle and not going crazy about the gift but when he sat down in it you could see him just fill with joy!
At the garage: Tyler.: “when I give him the keys, make sure you’re standing in front of the broken bumper and bug deflector!”
Wizard: “Sure thing”
Wizard: Orrrrrrrr, i could break out the duct tape
Just googled it, unpainted replacement part is $200, less from a wrecker where you might even find a color match.
He can sell his old truck for more than that. I wouldn't be complaining.
What I would be doing is dropping the oil, changing the air, fuel and oil filters and putting fresh oil in it, then getting on the phone to ring around some wreckers to find one that had been rear ended. Once I found one I'd probably go looking for a shop manual for my 'new' Lincon to see how to swap the bumper cover out.
Homes 4 Hoopties. A Hoovie chartiy.
This is a good idea to be honest. Plenty of “hoopties”, cars that run and drive fine, and people that can’t afford cars but do need them.
awwww, sniff sniff sniff..............................
Hoopties4Humanity
Expedition nowhere comes near the engine this car has, ride comfort, best thing I ever did was buy it and it does what I need it to do which is pulling the boat off the water. It's a daily, getting 10 a gal but it screams reliability.

You could hear his voice start to break 💜
I love a happy ending. Merry Christmas!
it's a WONDERFUL LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EDIT: even though you’re not keeping it, I can think of no better purpose for this Navigator. I hope Crazy D and his family enjoy it!
My mom leased one of these brand new when I was a kid! She loved it so much, she leased another right after the first one expired. Even as a kid who didn’t know/care much about cars, I knew the Navigator was something really impressive. For one, it was MASSIVE. Also, those second row seats were so comfy and luxurious to 8 year old me. Doug’s video earlier this year brought back some great memories, and now yours too. I hope you keep this one around for a while and enjoy it. 🙂
That's bad ass ! It's a great vehicle for Crazy D ! Merry Christmas !
"The Sarah McLaughlin of hoopties" - I spit my coffee all over my phone, thanks Tyler!
The dog close-up at the end cracked me up LOL
My newest favorite Hoovie video. Such a great gesture man! Very cool! When I first met Hoovie on a Watch JR GO video,I thought Hoovie was kinda of aloof jerk, but over time I've discovered that he's really a cool guy and has a heart. He has been blessed and he's thankful enough to be generous to others. Hoovie is a class act!
I loved this video! The smile on his face! Merry Christmas Hoovie!
Honestly people who would dislike a Christmas miracle
let's call it the MIRACLE With the HOOPTIE FLEET!!!!!
Willie Urus we are disliking the obvious fact that the wizard doesn’t even pay his office manager enough to buy a used truck.
@@SonnyGTA was it said he has 7 mouths to feed
I have a 2001 Lincoln Navigator for 19 years (American car) people talk bad about the American cars... let me told you that my BEAUTIFUL 2001 American car still runs like a champ with no problems on the engine or transmission... I LIVE IN AMERICA ..... I LOVE AND DRIVE ONLY AMERICAN CARS!!!
We must protect hoovie at all costs!! Haha love this channel!!!
Very nice move giving away the Lincoln to someone who needed it. Lots of miles left in this vehicle, and looks like the new owner really appreciates it. Nicely done!
9:40 “Ford will go down the road with more wrong with it than any other vehicle out there”
Coined the term "Buiilt Ford Tough!"
Facts. Ford's got more lives than a cat
False. Everybody knows nothing runs as long as a rough running Chevy will
Johnny Stewart No it’s really only the group of chevy owners that think that...
NinevoltModz well those group of Chevy owners will make it home at night so no biggie here lol
Key requirement in the automotive world: The wife likes it.
Been married 22 years my wife has not liked a single car Ive owned. Not one
Caw Schwarzraben nah if the wife doesn’t like it she can go lmao
Or be single and buy whatever the fuck you want.
Women will NEVER like what you like.
After watching many of your vlogs, I have determined that you're one of the most generous and down to earth person.
Many people who have attained a status such as yours don't give a hoot about others.
Kudos to you.
PS I come from a gearhead family and really appreciate your expertise. Thank you! 😃‼
Oh, that's so sweet of Hooptie to do that for someone else !
God bless him.
Best decision Tyler ever made on this channel!
that and getting a home garage for the fleet
Awesome Tyler!!! That SUV is awesome that everything's WORKING!! The first hoopie you give away has nothing wrong with it!!!!
Good on you sir
Hoovie I have a 98 Lincoln Navigator, still runs with 262k miles.
It's seeing actions like this, that make me want to follow Hoovie's Garage even more. In most of his videos, he self-deprecates as the "dumbest channel in all of RUclips", but he clearly hasn't viewed many obscure YT channels. I love his wit, and honesty about bad choices and exceptional luck, and how having an honest automotive genius like "Wizard" at his beck and call, is what keeps his channel alive. Tyler, I salute you good sir!
