Hey man, would you be able to do a video on the subtleties of dunking? Not necessarily the dunks themselves, but the footwork/explosive technique required,if you get my meaning.
Coach idk if you remember me but Ive been a long time viewer! I realllyyyyy need your help!! Can you please make a video on handling pressure defense!! Like man to man full court pressure defense, i have watched a lot of film and worked on improving it but i want to be 100% sure im solid before i go to practice in a week or 2 🙇♂️ i love your breakdowns and guides so if you can do me this favor i would realllllyy appreciate it because if i watch your video with the examples and all and see how its done and it confirms im doing it right then my confidence will go wayyy up 😎
i had difficulty playing against that full court man to man press because i was missing some fundamental concepts, i did learn a lot of them but like i said you can prob teach me a little bit more than i got just from watching film! im going to play for a national 16u title soon so i realllyyy need this brooo 😢😢🤣🤣
@@iy5531 I'll definitely put a full-court pressure vid on my to-do list. It might be some time until it gets released though. If you tell me a little bit about your situation. 1) What kind of pressing are you facing? Trapping, semi-trapping or purely man to man? 2) What does your coach want you do to against it? Always set up a play? Sometimes set up? Or is he okay with you attacking the pressure and getting a 5v4 or trying to create? Most of handling pressure comes simply with experience, getting better, learning from your mistakes and studying film. But there are some tips and tricks you can use for specific situations. Do you have any gametape of you against full-court pressure?
@@CoachFrikki Purely man to man, my coach usually just lets us go 1v1 against the man to man press to bring the ball up. I havent been able to so we just let the other guard bring it up. For sure! Experience does make you a lot better overtime but im in a unique situation where i started playing 2.5yrs ago so i have a few fundamental concepts missing. Im a super skilled ball handler so i have no difficulty beating my man in a half court but full court i have no confidence in myself. I dont have game film because its my first team but they are really good and are 2x regional champs so i want to be able to be a reliable option to handle the ball for the whole shot clock. I really really appreciate you for replying and those tips and tricks would be 💯 From what ive seen mostly its mainly just 1) making your defender slide and continously changing your angle of attack to keep him off balance. I also seen where 2) you attack and make him ride your hip then pull back the ball through a snatch or however and that creates a few feet of room to set up the offense. I also seen when 3) the defender gets too close they just blowby or go body to body for a hip swivel or just counter with a spin, wrap, etc. Then obviously sometimes they 4) get closer to the defender and then just use that negative step to get by and most of all in all these examples you always want to keep the ball protected with your body or in a protective stance. ^^ thats mainly what i have deduced from my film watching and i think i can handle it real game situation but im not 100% sure and im the type where if im not 200% sure then im not confident. But that video will be clutch for sure Coach Frikki 😎 i tried finding more film to watch myself of good ball handlers and i found enough to deduce that but its so hard to find clips of ball handlers beating a full court man to man. Thank you again and im looking forward to it !!! 😎💯💯
@@iy5531 Getting by your man in the full court is the same thing as getting by your man in the half court or at the three point line. In fact it's much easier because you've got so much (sideline-to-sideline) space to work with. 1) Wave your teammates away if they're close. You want space and no help defenders. 2) Dribble 100% straight towards your man. A common mistake is shying away from that tension, zig-zagging and turning your side to your man. Then you get in trouble. Face him completely. 3) Attack right or left depending on which way is more open. Simple moves. I'd recommend a hesitation or in&out for attacking the ball side, and a push cross for changing directions. 4) Sprint by him (put him on your back if you want), playmake or start your offense. It doesn't make any sense that you find full court 1v1 harder than half court 1v1? Do you struggle with that sprint dribble after your move?
@@CoachFrikki this makes more sense now and it does seem easier but i think its mainly my confidence 🤔 i just have this bad thought that i am going to get ripped somehow because i used to get ripped a lot when i first started playing.
@@abbyik7357 Not really something that should be "drilled" on its own. It's more about having an active off arm in every dribbling/driving/finishing and even shooting work you do. Visualize a defender and grab/hold/swipe/bump or push off with your off arm in every single move/drive you do. Learn to put your off arm in front, to the side, and straight back. Study clips of players like Trae/CP3/Schroder (or younger guys like Jahvon and Sharife Cooper) for inspiration and ideas. But it's always best to practice 1v1. You can't really develop that feel for the game on your own.
Always excited when u post a video. Can't wait for part 2!!!

thanks you so much
Was just thinking about Trae Young doing that when going for the finish
He is so good at using his offarm. It's key for undersized guards. There will be Trae clips in parts 2, 3, 4 and maybe more.
@@CoachFrikki Must have! I’ve been developing by myself the last couple of months and I was wondering about drills to develop my off arm alone?

You should make a off foot version lol.
make sure it looks natural and minimal or else its an offensive foul unless you play in the nba.

It should be banned in basketball
