The world is upside down, silly people get millions of views and talented people get none. Millions use inferior designs like a Floyd and ignore an engineering master piece like the Kahler. The market forces Kahler to keep the prices high, lack of demand.
You still loose the different tuning flexibility with a Kahler. I have had a few in my time. I know there are spring kits but simply adjusting the claw and if needed truss rod will give your guitar alot more tuning options should the need ever arise.
These are not so simple to string. I had to take mine to a pro cuz I couldn’t keep it tuned the way I strung it up
@@julesbailey6770you should take the time to understand and use the bridge. Everything worth while takes effort.
@@bluwng Hi, I have a guitar with a Kahler Hybrid, can you give me tips for better tuning stability and more sustain? I have already soldered the ball ends and it's way more stable than without soldering but still not perfect... I'd be thankful for any advice :)
@@Duevel follow, factory specs for tuning and for sustain understand the physics….there is no magic. Sustain comes prolonged vibration of the string and only tension and freedom of movement matter. Use a thicker gauge of strings under the same tension and your sustain will increase if that’s what you want. Changing gauge will require a new setup. Another path for sustain is artificial like a sustainiac pickup.
Nice build!
looks amazing dude, love it.
Very awesome guitar I have never tried a khaler bridge before and honestly they look cooler. Is it easier to set up than Floyd rose?
There's a process just like a Floyd Rose - easier? No. But once you have it it's a set it and forget it type of thing
"She's a beaut Clark!" Im diggin' your control layout.
Did you shim the sting lock?
Yes I used the shim made by Kahler for the curvature of the headstock
Hey bro I subscribed. I'd really like to see a video of you demoing the kahler. There aren't enough videos on yt. I'd really like to know how high and low I can go and what type of applications it has. I would also love a video talking about how you routed your guitar to fit the kahler. There aren't any videos on that either. I'm thinking of adding a kahler to my strat. I just found out about Kahler.
My next video I'll do a demonstration - thanks for subscribing 🤘
@@guitarsbymetaljay hey man, I was thinking of buying the kahler soon. I was thinking of using the holes from the stock trem as a marker. So I can outline where the trem would go. Would you recommend that?
@@Sl33zytheclown mark off the mid way point of the saddles on the existing bridge and try to match it up with the Kahler before you set it and make sure your string spacing is correct with the outer E strings
@@guitarsbymetaljay thanks I ended up putting a kahler. And it's Soo much fun. Thanks for the tips. I do have a small issue the strings seem to be a little high. Should I tighten the truss rod all the way?
@@Sl33zytheclown adjust it 1/4 turn at a time see what happens before you go any further - if it has the opposite reaction to what you wanted go the other direction
Do you have to make any holes besides screw holes to install a kahler?
There is a hole routed underneath to fit the spring cam it looks similar to a fender jazz master's bridge route before the bridge is installed
I cannot get my kahler to stay in tune.
Have it set up by a pro with some Kahler knowledge or watch some tutorial videos on RUclips
They have spring kits if your trying to tune out if standard. If an older guitar the springs might be worn. Try replacing the springs.
Use good strings ! I've only had problems when I used cheap strings . Daddario's or ghs work fine .
I have the cheap aliexpress version of this bridge. I don't know about the USA version, but had the same problem, flat when divebombing and sharp when going up... I tried all kinds of tweaks and it was always the same. I ordered a set of bass/heavy tension springs and it solved my problem, and it still feels like butter compared to a floyd rose. I hope this helps.
