Founded in 1966 and spread across 133 acres in Griffith Park, the zoo is a sanctuary for more than 2,200 animals, covering over 270 species, with a noteworthy focus on the care of over 60 endangered species, including a variety of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish.
The zoo's mission extends beyond displaying animals, strongly focusing on conservation, research, and education. It actively engages in animal care and promotes environmental learning. Known for its substantial role in conservation science, the L.A. Zoo actively participates in international efforts to preserve wildlife and restore habitats. Its diverse educational programs are designed to foster environmental consciousness and responsibility among visitors of all age groups.
Moreover, the zoo is distinguished by its botanical collections, which include a wide range of global plant species. These plants are carefully integrated to form naturalistic animal habitats, offering visitors a unique and informative experience that deepens their connection to nature.
The Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens have been a fixture in the city since its opening on November 28, 1966. The zoo also boasts a rich botanical collection with several gardens and over 800 plant species, amounting to approximately 7,000 individual plants.

I've been to Los Angeles last year in Christmas of 2022 when I saw 2 planetarium shows at Griffith Observatory. Thank you for showing the animals that are in the zoo. But most of all I like the aquatic mammals like dolphins, penguins, and Orcas in SeaWorld San Diego. I'm really sad that Sesame Street Bay Of Play Area has been transformed into Rescue Jr play area, along with their 4D experience at Mission Bay Theater that the park has decided to change 4D shows to stage shows, like Madagascar Live! Operation Vacation and other shows for SeaWorld Events. I really wished that somebody that you might find Sesame Street Presents Lights, Camera, Imagination 4D Attraction Media files with the video of the pre-show, the main show, and the post-show along with Theater Walk-in Loop.

I haven’t been to Los Angeles zoo in 16 years, but I remember my dad used to take me and Ben to zoo as we were kids.
