Remarkable album. Saw the world Vengeance Tour at the New Haven Coliseum, 1982 this album was savage when it came out. Iron Maiden opened for them. Priest’s performance will never be topped.
3rd favorite Priest album. Phenomenal album! I saw the 50th Anniversary tour where they played 4 tracks from the album, amazing show, best show I’ve ever seen
Vengeance was my first Priest tour as well. Front row. The Aussie band Heaven opened the show here in Michigan. Still one of my favorite albums and concerts. 🤘 As for "You've Got Another Thing Coming," Halford was talking about it a few months ago. It was a last-minute track they saw as a throwaway song. It was the record label who chose it for the first single. They argued against it but lost out.
My judas jaws n brother!!!! Another great review that can only be great do to your approach and passion for the most superior metal classics, anything less could be labeled pickle metal
Another one would be awesome is Bon Scott's Best selling Album, Highway To Hell VS Brian Johnson's Best selling Album Back In Black. 10 songs vs 10 songs one year apart.
Love love love this album. I saw the tour as well with Heaven ( Bent?) as the opener. Still have the jersey and it's in fantastic shape. Anyway. for me, not a bad track on the album. I really like Point Of Entry. At the time it came out , I didn't see it as commercial but I can see it today. Still a great album to me. Oh, and I saw them with Ripper and they started the show with The Hellion / Electric Eye. He did a great job on it.
The Electric Eye intro (The Hellion) and the Bloodstone intro are the most metal and incredible intros ever! I can listen to both of them over and over and often do. Of all my albums there are 2 songs my wife will actually ask to hear, You Got Another Thing Comin' and Kiss I Was Made For Loving You. Not sure how I feel about that. lol. Priest does rule. Saw them on Defenders the first time and that also is a slammin' album with some seriously iconic intros (the Sentinel, Some Heads are Gonna Roll). Great review!
Just saw Priest a couple weeks ago and they played a lot of Screaming. I was really happy to see them play Devil's Child, always been a favorite of mine and Halford hit all the high notes it was great
You got to see the very best Priest tour IMO. Great album and awesome review. I have many great memories listening to that album. I also loved Stained Class. Les Binks is just an amazing drummer. Dave isn't worth talking about after his sick escapade. Bloodstone, Devil's Child, Riding On The Wind, this entire album was gold for me.
Saw them play Riding on the Wind, Devil's Child and of course, The Hellion/Electric Eye and You/ve got another thing coming (also my least favorite on the album) Tuesday Night in Buenos Aires. Man, what a rush!!!
In 2024, not sure how we can truly appreciate and value the ridiculous impact 'Screaming for Vengeance' had in 1982. It was epic. MTV just starting to click and radio was still King. So, Priest simply ignited Heavy Metal and no one was even close. Thank Priest for paving the road.
Man!! After I finish watching this video I have to listen to Take These Chains....so many fucking good memories with my friends in the early 80s listening to this album... thanks for reminding me!!! Schmackemegob!!!...( Correct spelling? I don't know...lol!!!).... Cheers from Canada!!!...
10 songs 1982 vs 10 songs 1982 Screaming For Vengeance VS For Those About To Rock? Please do a track by track war. I want to see which one you end up liking the most.
Ok so I'm back after listening to Take These Chains....still fucking amazing after not hearing it for almost 35 years... don't know why I haven't heard it in that long but I'm just glad I heard it now!!...took me right back to my friends basement, I could almost smell the half filled beer bottles and stale hash smoke... hahahaha!! Thanks again!!.... cheers from Canada!!!
This album was central to my entire youth and seeing this concert was so damn epic. I always felt that during that time Priest was head and shoulders above the rest.
Screaming For Vengeance is EASILY my top-favorite studio effort in Judas Priest's discography! Devil's Child is not only my top-favorite track on the album in question here, but also my top-favorite Judas Priest cut overall! 😊
Oh and one last thing, I will also agree that Defenders of the Faith is a better album... I think Priest hit their stride with Screaming for Vengeance but Defenders knocked it out of the park...to be honest I've always thought of it as a double album that was a year between releases...kind of like the Beatles Rubber Soul and Revolver... you know what I mean?...of course you do...lol!! Cheers from Canada!!
I came to Judas priest on Defenders. Though I tried to get Sad Wings and Sin After Sin but my dad thought they were devil worshippers. He was born in 1919 and didn't like most Rock. Queen Bohemian rhapsody & Devo whip it. That's it.
1. The Hellion/Electric Eye 10
2. Riding On The Wind 10
3. Bloodstone 9
4. (Take These) Chains 10
5. Pain And Pleasure 8
6. Screaming For Vengeance 9
7. You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’ 10
8. Fever 10
9. Devil’s Child 9
Total: 85/9 = 9.44 out of 10 ⭐️
Electric EYE 👁 ✨️ 👀

My second favorite priest album 🤘
What is your #1?
This album is pure metal magic.🤟🤟 Screaming and Defenders go hand in hand.
They are real similar albums in construction n such.
Definitely 2 companion albums. Defenders is just a touch weaker in my opinion.
@@michaelseay9783 A lot weaker as for the material I think, actually.
@@LarryFleetwood8675yes, it really falls flat last half of side 2.

Saw the Screaming tour and the very next year the Defenders of the faith tour another killer two great albums back to back
Same here. Both killer albums and killer tours, epic times.
My judas jaws n brother!!!! Another great review that can only be great do to your approach and passion for the most superior metal classics, anything less could be labeled pickle metal
So many great songs on this album. Riding on the Wind, Electric Eye, title track, Take These Chains are my favorites.
I'm gonna go on a limb and say that this is the greatest metal album of all time. What a masterpiece.
Love British Steel, but this is better.
Ralph, your dislike for Hagar is epic and legendary!😆😂🎸🎸🤘🤘

One of the first bands I saw live. Pure metal. The purest sh$$&-----t. Rock on!!!🎄
Just saw Priest a couple weeks ago and they played a lot of Screaming. I was really happy to see them play Devil's Child, always been a favorite of mine and Halford hit all the high notes it was great
Never appreciated this album at the time but hearing it now its rapidly becoming one of my favourites. Awesome!

Out of all the 80's albums, Defenders will always reign supreme in my world

Great album. The Hellion/Electric Eye and then Riding on the Wind and Bloodstone: Brilliant!
Hands-down my favorite Judas Priest album! This album is in my top 3 favorite albums of all time.
Favorite priest album. Thanks, Ralph!
Killer album! I put it as my second favorite after Stained Class.
my freshman year in high school. what a yr more music
First Priest studio album I bought. Still my favorite.
I did own Unleashed In The East first though.

This album rules! Classic Judas Priest Heavy metal!
Good one man...The Metal God !!! 🌠
Oh and one last thing, I will also agree that Defenders of the Faith is a better album... ScreammmmminnNn! Best part I agree
Love Maiden but overall Priest RULESSSSS 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I've said it before and I'll say it again: The Hellion into Electric Eye is the most metal thing ever recorded
I came to Judas priest on Defenders. Though I tried to get Sad Wings and Sin After Sin but my dad thought they were devil worshippers. He was born in 1919 and didn't like most Rock. Queen Bohemian rhapsody & Devo whip it. That's it.
So classic it hurts!
Calling it hair metal is dumb because even songs like Take These Chains and Fever are chunky and doomy very gnarly riffs
Seu
I like Defenders of the Faith more than this one as well.
