What do you think about an occasional less edited vlog update like this one? Editing takes a lot of time and that’s been really hard with the baby lately 👶. Also I love the idea of my channel recommendations at the end - today’s was @Flip Aquatics!
for your macs i would suggest using RO water and ph under 6 using ph down which is fine because tds about 50-60 so ph will be stable otherwise eggs wont hatch. just extract eggs put in tumbler with that parameter
Vlogs are good and I'm interested in your recommendations. I'm already familiar with Flip Aquatics. Smaller/lesser known channel recommendations would be great!
Thanks @sandpai! I feel like I've tried everything. I make my own low TDS water and my PH is around 6, its been like this for months. I've also tried stripping the eggs into a tumbler (3 times now from 2 different pairs) but the eggs have all fungused every times. Talk about frustrating!
Taylor, you have done an incredible job with your fish room. Your Bettas look amazing. The wide variety of food available for your fish definitely contributes to their overall health and care. I wish I could manage my time as well as you do. Thanks for sharing. Wishing you continued success with your fish.
You have some gorgeous bettas. And I personally think the sign of a good fish room is the clutter and mess. As long as the fish are healthy. And your fish are certainly that. Take care.
Hi Taylor Can't imagine your workload with younglings of all sorts, house to keep up, and business. Thank you and love your updates. YOU ARE AWESOME !!!
ive never seen anyone ever so excited about worms lol. ur fish r beautiful and VERY well cared for as we can all see, im glad you're working out how to manage ur time better, and r getting to enjoy ur fish a bit more. This is very interesting little vlog, keep it up!
I hear you with busy life .... wow i am amazed at all you have! My Betta education has just begun and im just in awwwe of your set up and all your beautiful bettas. When we have an extra tank ill have to grab a betta from you! Lots to learn! Thank you for your videos!
Love the new fish! I've been looking for a halfmoon to get back into aquariums after a long break after my 5 year old betta died a few years ago. Thought who better to support than one of my favorite channels! I'm so glad you are feeling better and that you are taking it a day at a time. Just remember to be patient with yourself!
Hi, i've recently found you on RUclips and love your videos, Love the contents. Love that you are NORMAL in the sense that you don't make people think that everything is perfect all the time. My wife and i own a Pet store here in New Brunswick Canada. I wish i would have the time to have a spawning and growing fishroom, but no space for such a thing. And doing it on my own at home would be to much to handle, But i can dream and enjoy other people fish room. The Betta rack is very nice well though out and well made.. We bought one for the store and it was no worth half of what we paid for and it was so bad we don't use it anymore. Ok, i'm a French guy that can talk a lot so i'll let you go back to your busy life that we all have i guess. Keep it up. Tu es magnifique.
One day, and one task at a time!! Be gentle with yourself, mama. I have a 4.5yo and she is super busy. It's hard to balance chores/hobbies/kiddos/hubby and time for us. You're doing a good job
I really enjoyed you taking us through all of your fish room and your beautiful fish!! Thanks for taking the time out of your very busy day to share with us!
Hello Taylor! I'm your fan from Brazil. I love your videos, your tips, your fishes, everything. Keep this great work. I'm sure you're an enthusiastic. Big hug! 👏🏼🥰😍🐟🐠
Absolutely loved this video, great to have you back. I’d love one of your fish but I’m in the UK. The fish here aren’t the same standard of yours, lots of plain vail tails. Keep up the vlogs, they are very interesting x
I like the trash can sump. I've been wanting to do that for a while but haven't because I only thought about those big circular cans. I'm going to find a thin one like that.
Hey I love ur channel :) here’s a recipe for a treat I like to give my betta fish, it’s hard boiled egg, so all you do is make a hard boiled egg and then you take out the yellow part (the yolk) and dice it up super small and then let it get hard and then for about 2 days you can give to all your bettas as a treat! :)
OMG! I miss your channel so much! I finally got my first wild bettas, a pair of smaragdina coppers :D . I’m hoping you have an easy and happy time especially in these trying times :D
Absolutely love your videos. This one with the live foods was excellent. I will becstarting my micro fish room this month and realized I should start NOW with live foods. Thanks.
I also have a little baby and a 7year old stepson keeping me busy and I want to start keeping bettas again really soon! You’re super inspiring, idk how you keep up with everything. But I would love to order from you when I’m ready :)
Loved this video!! Love this style and I LOVE your fish room!! It's all so very inspiring to me!! Thank you for sharing everything with us!! I'm gonna go window shop your website and think about setting up my fish rack again *squeal* 😆😆😆💗💗💗🐟🐚🐌🐡🦐
Smashing video as always, Taylor! Really do enjoy catching up with you whenever you upload. Also, I really love the shout out idea too! Very nice touch to the channel! 😃🌟💙🌈
I love your channel and would watch it no matter how you want to do it. I am hoping that you may have some bettas for sale in the fall when temps. Hopefully cool down as I would love to get another one from you, I just don't want to get one with the temps possible being to hot. I also am subscribed to Flip Aquatics and have been for a few yrs. I also love his channel.
I love your fish room I have one small rack that has seven tanks on it and sometimes I feel like it’s a little much for me, but I would love to have more. I want to start breeding my own bettas and maybe someday actually do my RUclips channel as I had lots of ideas I just wanted to share but I feel like I’m procrastinating! I’m a mom too, but my 6 year old loves our fish! She loves “helping” me with them!
Yay so happy for an update :) I always get more motivated to work on my lines haha. Recently I’ve had all my spawns end in fungising eggs and got super disheartened 😭 hoping you try again in two weeks!
Hahaha. You talking about how your fish room is so hot kills me because my “fish” room is so cold. I breed axolotl’s so my “fish” room is always below 70. 😂
A 300 gallon stock tank sitting outside in the shade. Heavy guppy grass, wisteria, and floating water hyacinth. One male betta and maybe a dozen females. Mosquito larvae, infusoria as a natural and constant food source. Let summer and nature (next year) work their magic. The idea of a betta breeding pond intrigues me. But I only have a Brooklyn fireplace. But how about you? Thailand on your lawn experiment.
That would be neat to be able to have a nice big pond-type setup like a lot of Thailand/Indo breeders. My temperatures are too cold though, even in summer, so I would spend a fortune on heating it ;)
I could watch you work in your room every day! It's so informative!! If you ever have a free minute I'd love to have feedback on my son's room... he has 7 tanks and I need advice on water changes.
I’m so glad you are trying to get things sorted for you. I hope you are able to find what works. Also vlog style less editing is 100% stars Kay with me! No need to add more to your plate!
fish at 6:31 i wouldnt suggest breeding the spine is short and spoon head. same as your favourite samurai id be really careful with that as an f2 spawn will definitely give you over 50% with spine issues just my 2 cents
Thanks @BettaFx! Most of the fish from this spawn have pretty severe spoon heads, which is too bad. I really want to continue for an F2 so I can try to control the pattern, but it makes me a little nervous because the form might really suffer. Yikes! I wonder how long it would take to get nice topline offspring from poor parents through just strict selecting. Thoughts?
@@SimplyBetta in my opinion I'd suggest an outcross from a really good male and pick your top females from your spawn. Because doing an f2 will amplify this bad trait although you may get nice colour. Personally not worth it. With an outcross you can choose best imported male with your best F1 females and diversify the genetics. otherwise the original pair can try to breed again and hope you get over 200 fry to increase the gene pool anything less than that usually a small% is good and isn't the best indicator of the potential of F1 Hope that helps😁🙏
Love your enthusiasm! Any material you have to share is good. What are your thoughts on betta sororities? I'll have to check your videos to see if you have anything on that. Be sure to take time to take care of yourself and not get burned out!!
Yay! A new video! 😁 I love being able to see your setup. Each of my three daughters have their own betta and they have been begging me to try breeding bettas. I’ve been slowly gathering everything I need to make sure I don’t find myself in a panic trying to find something I need. For your tannins, are you making your own or using a Brightwell product?
Hi Craig! You totally should try spawning bettas, it would probably be a pretty fun experience for kids. My own daughter is bored of it though hahha. For tannins, I make my own and also use blackwater extract (mine is from Brightwell) in a pinch. Indian Almond leaves will degrade naturally in a tank and slowly release tannins. You can make a "tea" out of a few Indian almond leaves - pour hot water over a leaf in a container and let it come to room temp, you'll get a nice dark liquid you can add to tanks slowly (slowly as in gradually, since tannins can affect PH) Sometimes I'll throw a few IAL into a crockpot full of water and let it steep for 8hr, which makes an awesome dark tannin water. But sometimes I don't have time or energy to think ahead to do these things and I want tannins RIGHT NOOOOW so I use products : )
I want one of the galaxy koi bettas! Female koi bettas are my absolute favorite bettas ever! I don't have any yet but they are definitely in my future plans!
In my opinion keeping bettas in jars are perfectly fine so long as you change the water regularly according to jar size, most hobbyist here in Singapore and South East Asia do it. Its much easier to monitor your fishes behaviour in an empty tank than a big planted tank.

The mad 🐟 scientist has utilized every square inch of the fish room. Very impressed, keep up the good work✌
Haha thank you
I’m glad to hear that some of my tips have helped you!
Yeah! I got myself a whiteboard calendar and some wet-erase markers, haha. And I'm going to focus better only on what I like the most
Simply Betta Nice!
I really appreciate the fact that you show people that fish rooms do get messy, and it’s ok to have messy tanks if the fish are healthy and happy
They are gorgeous. I love my Betta. She has a personality & loves her new home. Such a cutie
Taylor, you have done an incredible job with your fish room. Your Bettas look amazing. The wide variety of food available for your fish definitely contributes to their overall health and care. Jamey Craig I have some :)
Maybe when you end up cutting back some of your more over grown tanks you can put your cuttings in with your beta jars
lets take a moment to appreciate how hard she works to give us these amazing videos. Great job!
I agree🙂

Awesome tour of your fish room! I loved the crypt tank with the whiteclouds. May I ask what crypt that is?
Hy @Ryo Watanabe! Those are wendtii : )

Yay! That is great, I hope you enjoy it and I hope it relaxes you when ever you look at it ;)
I have also been thinking of putting endlers in the tank as a little breeding project what do you think

I Love Betta to

Greetings from Germany.
I like ur channel,.. so i subbed! Idk why haven't ever seen until now?? anyways good content!!
My fish room (read the garage) is a mess. We are still sorting out all my late step-father's "stuff". And I have been slowly setting up my tanks :D
"Mess" is the natural state of my fish room, lol.
In my opinion keeping bettas in jars are perfectly fine so long as you change the water regularly according to jar size, most hobbyist here in Singapore and South East Asia do it. Its much easier to monitor your fishes behaviour in an empty tank than a big planted tank.

what a wonderful fish you'got there..
Hey Taylor! Great video! Still wondering how you juggle it all. Your fish rooms are amazing!! What is your favorite fin type?
wowww...nicee..😍😍😍
done supoort..🤗🤗🤗
Edited, unedited doesnt matter we like your videos because they are educational and entertaining. You inspired me to buy a betta. it is a blue mustard.
I wish I can help you editing (which im not really good at) I just love all your contents. You inspire me everytime I lose hope keeping my bettas. 😬
loved the tour .
I really liked it! Keep doing nice vlogs labya
Thanks ;)
Great fish room tour, what are the sizes of your glass jar that you have on the racks, I think you have two different sizes.
We are official bucket spawn buddies. For me what helped is completely leaving them alone... which is sooooooo hard because I'm nosy and wanted to keep checking on them
In love w the black samurais!!! Let me know if you’re gonna well them please :)
Thank you! I am keeping a few with the pattern I want to continue with, but once the rest get larger I will put some on my website ;)
Simply Betta thank you for the reply! Your bettas are gorgeous. I just lost one yesterday and your video definitely helped
Hallo simplybetta...u have been strong being youtuber+bredder+pro Aquarius lovers...go job keep maintain u lifestyle....hope u not boring to give new konten story...1 like from Malaysia
Where did you get those jars, I like it very much
You not add the pothos to the top of the sump? That way you can use a desk lamp for light
Love your videos........keep up the work u do 😁
I just got my bettas from Frank. They are amazing. Highly recommend for wild type bettas!
