- I'm back with some more betta fish unboxings! I have beautiful wilds, stunning imported domestic fish, and my SECRET dream fish. Try to guess what it is : )
You might notice a theme in this video - I've been very low on time lately. I've promised a video on selecting betta fish for breeding and I promise it is coming - editing is just hard right now! Especially when the baby is teething, please send HELP.

Someone asked me if we're sisters so here I am, watching videos about fish I don't have. But I've been considering a betta for months. I'll take this as a sign from the universe. 😂

I was suckered into getting a glo-betta too. She’s such a little firecracker, and I love her to bits. The only good thing I see coming from their “creation”, is that they’re marketed as needed 3 gallons, whereas the other bettas are marketed as only needing .5 gallons. Hopefully big box stores start heading in the right direction with proper betta care!
I work at a Canadian PetSmart and I never sell a betta fish to a customer unless it’s in a 3-5 gallon heated set up. I let them know why they need to do this and the proper nutrition they need. It’s important to let them know information like this, and 9 times out of 10 they’re happy that I explained why. Same goes for all of the animals we have. We are allowed to refuse customers if their set up is bad for fish or animals. Like putting a comet goldfish in a 3 gallon tank. It’s fun for the kids, but a terrible environment for the fish.

I'm so excited to see future videos with the new fish! Give me all the messy vlog videos you want, they will still be fabulous. I just recently looked up a bunch of betta Instagram accounts, and holy cow there are some gorgeous betta fish! The galaxy ones especially so I'm happy to see you get some of those.

My daughter insisted on a Glo Betta and he’s really fun! I didn’t realize he was a baby until he suddenly hulked out after we had him for about five months. I’m glad, because I know we’ll have him for a nice, long time. 😊

Every pet store ive seen here in australia (at least in the past few years) have really good betta set ups small jars but water drips into them, they have heater mats under and sometimes they have little plants.
And half of them still look super sick and stressed
Pet Barn has some real sad fish. I work at Pet City in WA and our betta have the drip system and are in 10 litre tanks

You are awesome. You opted to take MORE on after making a video about handling too much 💕 Hope you can sneak some sleep in here and there. Gorgeous fish, most beautfiul baby (those LASHES! 😍). Just remember those babies will be teenagers that don’t like you one day. 😂 I have to hunt mine down in their bedrooms and sometimes don’t see them for 5 minutes all day. You’re amazing, thanks for sharing it all with us.

Great video! I love to see your vlogs with your day to day things! I just combined 4 tanks into one big 40 to save me from doing 4 smaller individual tanks. QUESTION! Has anyone recommended restaurant containers for you? Google the clear polycarbonate food pan! They come on a variety of sizes and styles and I think the clear ones would be best for you and the best thing is you can also get lids for them and THEY STACK! I come from a family that owned a restaurant for a long time so to me it probably seems like maybe something like these would do you some good! They can withstand cold and heat And the best part is they’re easy to buy in bulk for as little as $3 a container! I hope you see this comment! And I hope you have a great day!

I love your honesty.. you're always honest with us I hope you don't get any hate for getting those wild caught fish because.. if they were caught out of the wild and shouldn't have been what better person to have them and help not only that particular pair of fish but the whole hobby benefit from that unfortunate situation.. it's not like they can be re-released into the wild after their taken from it but I've heard you talk about the importance of leaving wild fish in the wild and breeding those fish as fish keepers and I know all of your followers know where your heart's at on that! I started keeping fish to help with my PTSD... Helps better than the other things I've tried to help cope.. I've been tattooing for 13 years since I got back from Iraq and I look more like a sons of anarchy than a fish keeper... But your channel is my favorite and it always puts a smile on my face with the positivity and honesty you show up the ups and downs of the fish keeping hobby.... Watch me avoid them so I can keep it all 100% positive and I am so appreciate that really happy for you and your family and just keep being yourself and doing what you're doing.. please :-)

There is a whole debate on wild caught vs tank raised and if collecting wild fish is actually bad, I'm not sure what to think anymore! I do believe that endangered species should be able to be preserved by experienced fishkeepers, but those species should also be left alone and their dwindling habitats be protected too

Square tubs that stack try polypropylene gastronomes there a commercial catering thing so food and fish safe variable dimensions all stack and come with lids. I use a big one as a grow out for plants.

Just a heads up ... smaragdina are the most amazing jumpers I’ve ever seen. Don’t leave any space they can jump through. I had about 6-7 gallons in a 10 gal tank along with a lid and the feeding hole was covered. The one tiny sliver in between the filter and lid ... was a mistake. I had a pair, the first female jumped out and that’s when I lowered the water level and covered the feeding hole. Two months went by, everything was fine and then one morning I woke up and the male was laying on the bottom super stressed (from the female) and then when I tried to quarantine him he died. The next night that female jumped out the tiny sliver. I’ve gave up wilds last year after it happened and I’m not sure if I’ll ever get more.
Do you keep females and males in the same tank? I was just kinda curious as I have two tanks one for my sorority tank and one for my male.

Hi I've got a question? When you buy bettas do you buy them from overseas? I'm an American living in Taiwan and in the last two years I've had 55 bettas.
Only five of them have survived.
Took me two years just to figure out we had Frozen bloodworms.
eight of my betta is our new and my tanks have been cycled of course for a long time. I have ten tanks and each betta has tank.
Only two of my fish have lived for a year they're both female and when I bought them they were kept in a tank that was medicated
I got these fish immediately when they came in so there was no problem.
I'm just tired of making videos of my bettas just to have a reference that way when they die I can remember them.

also when you get a New Baden what is it you actually do to help them not to be sick if you think they are?
For example I think one of my betta has fin rot. it seems like the edges of his tail or becoming clear. He has an orange body and his fins are mostly like a reddish color
I put him in methylene blue for 15 minutes but I don't know how long I need to continue to do that.
I just wish I can get my bettas to live because I'd like to be able to breed my own bettas one day and have a store
Oh my, sorry about your fish losses. Do you know why they died?
If your fish has clear edges on his fins, it should not be fin rot. Fin rot has a black edging and the fin will slowly get eaten away by infection. Clear is a good sign, and even new fin growth from healing can be clear

I can not believe you found another pair of channoides 🙂 your so lucky.. Mine spawned twice 6 the first time then 16 the second time and the my female disappeared.. I have no idea where she went. I have a lid on the tank. They are in a 4 foot tank which was divided and one day I just couldn’t find her so I put the male on her side knowing she would come out for him but nothing. So I guess she died?? But we never found her and I spend hours on that tank every day. I’ve been looking for a new pair for a new bloodline but so far no luck 😔. I just love watching them they are so Placid and have such cute personalities.

Wow are those your bettas that you bread. I live in Taiwan and all we have is a good pellet. My sister sent me a container of Omega one. which is good because I have a beta that doesn't like the Taiwan brand. Even though it's really high quality.

I noticed that there’s no air going into the containers. It look like they were to go containers but didn’t have any air circulating.
Technically there doesn't need to be water/air circulation, if you do regular water changes. Also, Betta have a labryinth organ, meaning they breathe air from water surface.

You can still get good quality fish, just don't do too many generations of inbreeding
