@@arsenioharris827 3 month and above. But I recommend 5 month old. Because at that age, the eggs being produced are a lot.

I find this very interesting! I'm 70 years old and as a young kid growing up my brother and I had five fish tanks. We had a lot of live bearers we only tried once to breed egg layers... with lots of little brothers and sistersit priced to be too difficult!!!! I ended up being the oldest of 12 children we didn't have the means to be successful and were unable to breed. We had a friend though... a neighbor who did breed betus and he bred 3 spotted gouramis they both built bubble nests. So I find it fascinating in my old age to find out so much information on RUclips that I couldn't find in the library or through fish magazines. Thank you so very much for producing this video

Antigamente a informação era muito difícil. Não digo nem tão Antigamente como a idade do senhor. Há 30 anos atrás já não tinha informação nenhuma sobre criação de Betthas. Hoje se encontra tudo. Hoje sabe-se sobre a necessidade de sal na água, retirada de cloro, tipo de ração, retirada de amônia, produtos para retirada de metais pesados e detritos, etc.

Thank you Dexter for the pointers. I've bread 3 of my high dollar males to 3 exceptional F1 females successfully. There's roughly 400 6 week old fry that are thriving. I lost about 1/3rd from hydra by feeding brine shrimp. When the survivors got big enough, they consumed all the hydra and had a big growth spurt as a result. I’ve always been so fascinated by betas ever since I was a kid I would sketch them and make my own little book on the different kinds
What I liked the most about this is how healthy the fish look... the ones here in America look unwell most times and have they usually have very weak immune systems if bought at the wrong places... I have 3 bettas: 2 males and 1 female... I love them very much but fin rot and other issues are very likely when you buy them from stores like petco and pet smart.. luckily my babies didn’t have that issue but I made sure to give them the right tank conditions
those colors are beautiful. sadly no place anymore for a little group of bettas. greetings from the netherlands

Oh haha we have a lot of swamp in the US, not everywhere, but it is very diverse- I used to live in the tropics and those mosquitoes were not so bad as the US south 😄, I should do well (I was literally siphoning daphnea when he said that)

They are $20 here, ive found young females on sale for $4, but the imported nemo koi fancy special ones can be 40+
No nemo koi is expensive here in philippines it's 5000php for pair it's like 100$

Bettas are like 5 cents each here in Indonesia,nemo koi bettas are like $2, $1 for regular koi bettas, male and female kois costs the same while regular females are like a penny...

For the mosquito larvae, get a rectangle tub and put a framed screen over the top that just fits the container (the screen can overlap the tub). Every few days, before you open the screen, lower it into the water for several minutes so it drowns the flying mosquitoes.

After watching this I feel like the US fish market has us taking care of fish the wrong way... our 10 gallon tanks with filtration and meds can barely keep a guppy alive, and here we have 1000's of them in an old fridge. Very interesting stuff!

Sounded like he said as long as the Bettas stay together you can keep them together even as adults. Its when you remove and separate them that they become aggressive. We have some hot summers, thinking it would be possible to breed outside in a small pool in a shaded area. Here in the States only about once a year if that do they sell females. I guess you could order them.
