Other videos showed them just muscling it free; yours is the right way - gotta be smart and not make things worse! I have watched 7 or more videos on this same process----but you are the FIRST person to show that the new cap over the prong assembly should be separated and placed over the connection LAST!!! This is the 2nd time I've replaced one of these sun visors in my car and all this time I thought I was incompetent! The other videos just show men doing what I call "strong arming" the assembly into the slots. Sorry but I guess I'm just a weak gal because it didn't work for me. Then I watched your video and it made complete sense! If you have to remove the cap first before removing the clips with the arm attached, then you have to replace the assembly in the same manner. But since the manufacturer sends all the pieces together you may be fooled into trying to install all the components together in one piece. Anyway, thanks again for your great detailed video!!

Got a nice cheap replacement. The attachment cover came on when I received the visor, and it was a pain to get off. We eventually did. Then we put the clips through the ceiling and they do catch, but how does the attachment cover go on that easy? There does not really seem to be an angle for that attachment cover to fit in and if I could just get the attachment cover back on then I would be done with the fix. Any tricks to get the attachment cover back on?
i replaced mine, too. however, i tried 3 of them. you cannot flip or even more these replacements without them coming right out of the roof. the cheap clips, even just like original, will not hold unless you don’t move it. but, since these clips are the same as the original visor, I think the problem is is that all of the ones I bought and I bought and sent back three of them before I kept the fourth one which was just like the other three - the problem is they’re so stiff that they rip it right out of the roof. please show you flipping yours toward the windshield a few times.
I have this same problem. The visor stays up, which was the main issue, however these clips appear to be too weak/loose to move it down and to the side. Limited functionality, in other words. If there were a few screws instead of the clips, this wouldn't be an issue
@@thomaszlotnicki6896 hi. i am the same guy you replied to: the solution: the outer upholstery plastic cover! that you “see” once it is installed. you must push that outer cover up into the clips!!! THAT is what holds it up in the roof snuggly. (the stiffness aspect is actually normal, to keep your preferred positioning when using. so forget the stiffness! PUSH that outer plastic cover piece up hard into the clips. So, put the whole thing in the roof, then PUSH that outer piece up hard into it. whether it expands the clips or not i don’t know. but that is how it all works. I paid a dealer tech about $57. for that info and installation. i made him take it out and do it again to prove what he said. he said not to take it completely off, let it hang below as it will; but i do not think that matters. UNBELIEVABLE. and all fixed.

I was able to replace the driver visor with no problem. I ordered the replacement for the passenger side and thought it would as simple to replace and it was not. I could not get the clips to catch. What am I doing wrong on the passenger side? I tried hammering it. I lost 2 clips in the ceiling. Please help. Thank you.
You want to put the visor in first without the cover, then before moving anything put the cover back on and push it up. The cover helps the clips stay firm. I believe he removes the cover first to make it easier to put the visor with clips in, then slide the cover on and pop it in. It should hold.
it turns out, the cover for it is what holds it tight to to roof. apparently, the cover expands the clips… idk. the replacement visor (i tried 3) were so STIFF that moving the visor ripped it right out of the roof. i could not figure out WHAT IS THE SECRET, or are they all defective. went to the dealer today. boom, snug and tight - yes visor was very stiff. i thought for sure they could not do it. mechanic told me even he had ask chief mechanic. so, if you tun into that bit of trouble, the secret is the outer cover, THAT cover is what holds it in the roof securely, so you can actually use the visor. cost me $57. to find that out.
@@GarageBoys Sorry, I agree, it's not a fix, it's a replacement. I'm looking for a fix. My friend's visor hangs down a bit, won't stay in upper position. I thought maybe squeezing the pivot clip on the arm might help, but have not tried it.
He was speaking clear and the audio quality is fine maybe you need a better device? Also you can change the speed to slower on youtube so use that ... MATE

Mine is still loose after putting on the cover. Is the cover the key? Does the cover and it's white squares somehow secure the clips?
Some models have the vanity light wiring attached to a plastic white clip. Are you talking about that?

I want to know why a brand new 2018 has sun visors that won’t stay in the up position. Our last Camry was the same GD way.

i bought one, too. but the clips won’t hold it securely in the roof!!! (same clips as original clips, but new)
