I’ve got two kids myself and have lived here my whole life. There are pockets of the city, mostly near downtown where homelessness and hard drug use is a real issue - much like most cities this size and larger. The majority of the city is suburban residential neighborhoods and feels very safe. I have no problem with my kids walking to school or to the store alone. We rarely even lock the doors to our house during the day. Hope that helps.

Thanks Craig! I’ve been here my whole life - I think it’s a great place to raise a family and I love how close it is to all the bigger cities in the GTA. Where are you now?
I laugh at the proximity to bigger cities, but I guess that depends on definition. I'm from Oakville originally, but lived in Brantford for a few years. I have fond memories of Brantford and visit it when i can. After 16 years in Vancouver, I am in Edmonton. Edmonton is my home now, and I love it here, but Brantford still has that place in my heart@@JeffThibodeau
I have lived here my whole life and can say that its becoming more and more not worth it to stay here, too many people coming are turning it into a bigger city than brantford can handle. I miss old brantford but its now turning into hamilton very sad 😔
@@JeffThibodeau me and the family have been eyeing a place out east of brantford a bit very affordable and retro however i dont want to post about it online its kind of a hidden gem
Purchased a house here 8 years ago. Came here from Hamilton. We have 2 kids now with one in the public school system and one starting next year. Brantford is a great place, but that lack of energy, especially downtown is quite palpable. The standout reason to move here is bang for your buck and central location. Plus, some big box stores are finally on there way… if you’re into that kind of thing.
I've lived here since 2000....Brantford has gone downhill in a lot of ways. Biggest issue is the drugs and homeless problem. The city needs to deal with it instead of turning a blind eye. The riverfront should not be a skid row!

@@GodsgraceishEcho Place is a hidden gem in Brantford. Lots of nice older homes in mature neighborhoods and a few newer construction areas. It’s a great location for access to the Highway.
@@GodsgraceishI guess if your living right next to one you may notice and impact. Most of the residential areas are not near the commercial streets where motels are located.
What can you say about the drug problems in the city? Is it a safe place to live with Kids?

$1300 for a room?? We can help you find a better place to stay. I just rented out a 5 bed house for $3k - that’s only $500/room.

How do I reach Hamilton or kitchener
Are you looking for public transport options from Brantford to those cities?
Yes
You can take a GO bus to Hamilton.
Can you tell us the Costco’s address
Costco is not built yet. It will be at the Lynden Park Mall property right near Hwy 403 and Gretzky Parkway when complete.
Information about senior apartment
For sure. What type of care level are you asking about? There are options for independant living and facilities with different care levels.
What part of the city? If you mean just a rental I can help with that.
