I have 4 cats and the application once a month is nothing like this.. It's hide and seek first, followed by "catch me if you can" and then wiggle like crazy, and 2 of us are doing this, and at least one of us gets scratched. Please show how to do it on a wiggly cat~

Wait till your cat is calm...like when it is just waking up or after play & eating, when it's getting sleepy.....it's almost impossible to put it on a cat in hunting, prey, and catch mode!!
My advice for applying Revolution to an uncooperative cat: Try to do it when they're asleep. If you find them sleeping on their belly, grab the vial, have it handy and then go to your cat and see if you can gently part their hair on the ideal spot without them reacting. If that happens, then BAM, that's you're opportunity. Get that Revolution on there real quick and quiet. Emptying the vial only takes about two seconds. Your cat probably will wake up, but the whole process is so fast that it doesn't matter. If you're cat wakes up woozy and confused and not seeming to know what just happened, you're golden. They'll probably just go back to sleep. If they wake up aggressively, that's when you distract them with petting, playing, neck rubbing, treats or whatever your cat enjoys.
I have the wildest cat ever who won't even let me pick her up. Today was treatment day & it went flawless. If there's even 1 place in your house where your cat allows petting use the week prior to practice parting her fur while petting her. It's not so much about you as it is getting the cat used to being being touched there. I left a larger than usual pile of her treats on the floor & while she was eating I got the entire tube on in less than 4 seconds. Once she realized something was on her she left the treats & went running but we were already done:) Hope that helps someone.
I got my son to help me. Lol. My dog really helped a lot by barking almost the ENTIRE time I was treating 3 cats.! lol. But we did get it done and cats are hiding out now. I have the use of both arms. Now I just have to keep said dog from licking any of the cats for at least 2 hours. good thing I'm off work today. 😃

Yep, I have 2 indoor cats - they start squirming when they see the box..., I have an outdoor cat I am trying to transition to an indoor cat, and if he doesn't, he still needs flea meds and rabie shot - he goes bonkers if I do this. 99%, if not ALL of the medicine goes on the fur, not the skin. I took the 2 indoor cats to the vet's office - a vet tech held the cat and opened the fur while the vet applied the stuff to their skin. Impossible for one person to do. Revolution is 100 times better than that cheap stuff that you get at Walmart, etc. I've been using it on all of my cats for years and years. It even gets rid of the earmites my one rescue cat keeps getting, better than the oily stuff my vet made me try.
i literally knelt down and cried to my cat pleading her to not fight me when i applied the medicine. can this world please have videos of how to calm a nervous and feisty cat to give meds? this is more traumatizing for humans.
Revolution is an excellent product..but some cats are really hard to apply this or any spot on pipet...Mine are!!!...They smell it from miles away and freak out!! ...SO I FOUND that if you put a little cat canned creamy food they love, like salmon puree or liver puree etc..on top of his nose....(just a little!) this will keep your cat busy and happy and smelling something they love instead of the strong pipet odors they hate and fear...!!! Do this a little BEFORE you open the pipet....Keep some cans in store for future sessions...and good luck!!! Don´t forget to reward your cat after the business is done!!...
I actually give my cats a treat before application and they enjoy eating the treat while I apply it. Maybe some tuna or smoked salmon. They usually don’t care and maybe wiggle a little. In fact when they see me getting out the Revolution come over

I have a feisty cat. In the past there was no way I could do this until one day I decided to try doing it as they were eating. Worked like a charm. Didnt even notice I was there. The key was feeding them later than thier regular time to build up an appetite.
My cat licked it off in that area. It was a nasty foamy mess. I watched another vet suggest drawing an imaginary line on the cats head, from ear tip to ear tip, and put the drops on the skin right in the center. They said that no matter how flexible your cat is, this area cannot be reached. Wish me luck, because that's what I'm trying next.
Excellant video! Cat is gorgeous! I have two lovely bengals now about 7 months old. I simply adore them and they adore me. They live indoors but I allow them to go outside in the daytime if they like. They do not like this application but I carress them and tell them it's OK and they seem to know that I mean them no harm and it's really not a problem with application by myself. Hope this helps! Hello. I recently took my cat to a vet due to excessive licking/grooming for his tail. After she diagnosed him, she verified flea dirt using a flea comb and was diagnosed with flea allergy dermatitis. After giving him a shot of an antibiotic and steroid, she prescribed Revolution Plus. Previously, my dad would give flea baths and flea pills to treat possible fleas. However, the vet recommended to NOT give flea baths during the 6 month course of Revolution Plus. The staff also advised to not give flea pills and just focus on giving the Revolution Plus in the meantime. I just find the no flea bath puzzling, but I assume it's to prevent an overdose of flea treatment in order to prevent negative health side effects such as seizures or possible death. I would like to know your professional opinion on the matter. Thank you.

I got so lucky that my Sibeiran Cat let me do this to him, he just sat there on my dresser just like the cat in the video. My cat is indoor only but there are alley cat's that like to always pass by my backyard and chill by the sliding glass doors which is how I am sure my cat ended up getting fleas in the first place. Those things dont just go after pets, i got a few bites on my legs from them. Got rie of them now though. Thanks for sharing the video.
What if because they are struggling you can't tell if you got it on the skin but seems like a good mount got on fur. Should you reapply another one? It doesn't look like she is trying to wipe it off in any case.
No, the treatment is absorbed into the skin, and then within 24 hours will have spread to the entire body. I read the scientific explanation for it and didn't fully understand it lol. Anyway, online it says flea are killed right away, but in my experience and what friends/the vet said, its not immediate and the flea may get a chance to bite the cat, but will die before or shortly thereafter, and won't be able to continue the life cycle
I put this on today and I didn’t separate the hair with hand I just put the top to her skin on the back of her head and applied. I kinda rubbed it in the skin and hair at the place I applied so I hope that’s not wrong. Can this medicine get stuck in the hair and not absorb properly? Thanks
Thanks for the video. I have a problem however. My cat has short hair and I can't part it. I thought of shaving a groove through the fur between the shoulder blades but this is a former dumpster cat and he can get a little crazy.
@@Lashovadjs I finally resolved to just place the tip of the applicator on his skin and "plow" through the hair as I applied it. I was told by a pet groomer that this is how she does it and it worked for me. Good luck.
I have an extremely wiggly cat. I wait until he's sleepy or while petting it and I apply it without him noticing it. He does feel the liquid but I immediately distract him with a toy. It's the only way for me.
I wanna use this on my cats, but I’m scared that if I apply it on both of them they might lick each other (they always do) and they might taste the liquid and idk if it might be toxic. It’s sometimes hard to trust medicine when it comes to my babys 😿
If anybody is interested, we just made a video about applying flea treatment to our crazy *British Shorthair kittens*. Similar sort of advice but from a normal person with *normal cats* at home instead of a vet in surgery. *Our channel* is pretty much filled with clips of our cats being mischievous! They should include instructions on this damn thing to break the seal. Not one thing telling you how to do that on the package. Pretty piss poor packaging.
Ya gotta sneak up on cat. Whatever you do don't let him/her see the gloves, safety glasses and medication. Two people! Do not do this alone! (unless you've drugged the cat?) Practicing the steps below on any given day other than treatment day may be a very good idea! Person #1 Firm grip on the lower neck and front of shoulders. (If need be use towel to wrap cat in, if extremely unruly) While in this grip use thumbs and or index fingers to separate fur nape of neck. Make sure you see the skin. Person #2 Open medication where cat can't hear the snap sound. Apply medication directly to that area. Try and squeeze out all medication at once, if not. Person #1 needs to keep the firm grip until all is applied. Don't rub, pat medication down until it is all on surface. Release cat to find it's favorite hiding place. Do Not Let cat outdoors till dry. Dispose of all treatment equipment properly. Wash hands immediately. Well that's how we do it, and it works every time! PLEASE paste this info. and use on other sites where need be. My bad, could not paste this to another youtube vid, any ideas?

You can put her in a harness or wrap her in a towel/blanket. But it's probably best to do it quickly & quietly while she's knocked out in her sleep.

No, the treatment is absorbed into the skin, and then within 24 hours will have spread to the entire body. I read the scientific explanation for it and didn't fully understand it lol. Anyway, online it says flea are killed right away, but in my experience and what friends/the vet said, its not immediate and the flea may get a chance to bite the cat, but will die before or shortly thereafter, and won't be able to continue the life cycle

My cat has gotten more resistant to revolution because in a different weight class, the smell changed and got stronger and he hates it now 😂

I put this on today and I didn’t separate the hair with hand I just put the top to her skin on the back of her head and applied. I kinda rubbed it in the skin and hair at the place I applied so I hope that’s not wrong. Can this medicine get stuck in the hair and not absorb properly? Thanks

Thanks for the video. I have a problem however. My cat has short hair and I can't part it. I thought of shaving a groove through the fur between the shoulder blades but this is a former dumpster cat and he can get a little crazy.
How did you cope with parting the fur? I also have a short-haired cat and have been having trouble exposing the skin to apply the solution.
@@Lashovadjs I finally resolved to just place the tip of the applicator on his skin and "plow" through the hair as I applied it. I was told by a pet groomer that this is how she does it and it worked for me. Good luck.

Ya gotta sneak up on cat. Whatever you do don't let him/her see the gloves, safety glasses and medication. Two people! Do not do this alone! (unless you've drugged the cat?) Practicing the steps below on any given day other than treatment day may be a very good idea!
Person #1 Firm grip on the lower neck and front of shoulders. (If need be use towel to wrap cat in, if extremely unruly) While in this grip use thumbs and or index fingers to separate fur nape of neck. Make sure you see the skin.
Person #2 Open medication where cat can't hear the snap sound. Apply medication directly to that area. Try and squeeze out all medication at once, if not. Person #1 needs to keep the firm grip until all is applied. Don't rub, pat medication down until it is all on surface. Release cat to find it's favorite hiding place. Do Not Let cat outdoors till dry.
Dispose of all treatment equipment properly. Wash hands immediately.
