My cat had nasty nasty fleas. A family member bought some insecticide from the pet store, it almost killed him, I washed it off him with dawn dish soap and he survived. The vet prescribed this (selamectin) and the fleas died off within an hour, and my cat stopped scratching, pepped up, went to get a bite to eat, was purring, we continued to give it to him as a preventative and he always pepped up. I was so impressed with this stuff 10 years ago I wondered if there was a version for humans I could try 😂 found out about it on the news, not easy to ask for now.

I’m glad you mentioned the part for your friend and his cat with the bald spot! My cat kitty struggled with that for two years and even the vet I see doesn’t know what’s wrong. Tried this the first time last night and hopes it’ll help so much!

This does work but is not as effective on dogs as it is cats because it actually absorbs in the cat's bloodstream to the skin where that does not happen with the dog

A month ago I moved from California to Louisiana and the day I arrived I found out that my roommate was allergic to cats so they had a friend that is a cat lover, but unfortunately he lets the Stray Cats from the neighborhood come in to eat. Yesterday my Vet gave me a dose of Revolution for Kling-On...that looks like Maximus

Revolution always worked fantastically and I never had a problem with fleas, until recently when the name seemed to change to stronghold. Now I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on the stuff and there’s still fleas everywhere. Dogs are chewing the hair off their asses. Fleas are jumping in my socks still and it’s been over six months, with regular dosing as indicated on all animals in the house, and flea shampoo baths, vacuuming, yard insecticide spraying, and flea bombs to boot. I’m thinking the company changed their name and the new CEO cut down the dosage percentage to ineffective levels or something.

Thank you for the video! Curious if it has a strong odor? My vet gave this to me for my thinking she has mites. She was also over grooming her tummy and inside of back legs and also bottom of her feet. I was nervous and hesitate to do so after reading some reviews of bad reactions. Also, if the odor was strong since I have another cat and she tends to hiss if her sister cat has a different scent (like when coming home from a vet visit)
Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

If one cat has mites the other highly likel6 dies as well. They are like bedbugs in cats ears- multiply exponentially! Treat them both with Revolution to ensure you eradicate the earmites.

Yes, but it can possibly take up to three months before they are completely wiped out. That's what my vet's office told me.

@@msbonz4145 Just google "Sierra Pet Meds". They are in Australia and need no rx. To save the most money, buy the large dog size. It is double strength from the cat formulation. You will have to do some math but it is worth it. The cat dose is 3mg per pound. So a 10 pound cat needs 30mgs. The dog size I use has 240 mgs. It is for a 44-88 pound dog. So one 2ml vial does 8 cat doses (240÷30=8). They sell 6 vials for $64 (or $8.50 per vial). So that is $1 per dose versus $18 at the vet. If you have more than one cat the savings really mount up.
I also recommend getting some precision blunt needle syringes from Amazon (about $10) so you can safely measure precise doses. You need to convert the mgs to the amount of liquid you need. For instance the 30mg 10lb cat size is 25 ml/100. That is 25 marks on the syringe. It might sound complicated but once you get used to it it's easy. Just stick the needle into the vial and withdraw 25ml/100. Take the needle off the syringe an apply to the cat just like normal.
      ********************
Here is the formula that simplifies everything.
Cat's weight x 2.5 = dose measured in one hundreds of a milliliter.
      Example: 8lb cat x 2.5 = 20 ml/100 (or 20 marks on a one ml syringe)
      **********************
I worried about getting it right at first but I had read an article that said vets at cat shelters do it all the time to save money when they have to deflea lots of stray cats. Also, up to ten times overdose still won't hurt the cat so even if you make a mistake it wouldn't make it sick. But doing the math right and measuring with the syringes prevents even that. By the way, notice that the cat size is 45 mg and is for a cat between 5-15 pounds. So a 5 pound cat gets the same dose as a 15 pound cat. That means the small cat gets 3 times as much per pound. That is why it is more accurate to use the 3mg per pound. The 5 pound cat only needs 15mg, not 45mg. Hope that all helps.
By the way get Stronghold instead of Revolution. It is the exact same thing and is also made by Zoetis. But it is even a little cheaper. And pay with Paypal instead of your card if you can because it keeps you from having to call you bank to approve an overseas transaction.

It has had absolutely no affect on my kitten !! It has been almost 2 weeks now and she is still scratching and we have seen at least 3 fleas on her, that is just what we can see. We did not hve a massive flea problem when she was treated. I was told that the flea has to bite her before it dies. That was not told to me at the application and exam. So do the internal parasites have to bite her inside ? This video does not apply to my situation, as a magic wand !!

    • @shrimpymuscles8413
      @shrimpymuscles8413 3 года назад

@@amberlilly4101 I don't trust all the toxic flea meds. They poison the cat and fleas still survive. Fleas also survive in carpeting. Many years ago I had fleas all in the carpet. I sprinkled toxic flea powder all over the rug and vacuumed it up and tossed the bag in the outside trash. I put my cats in the bath tub and washed them in regular cat shampoo. I kept them in the tub for 10 min, drowning all the fleas. I continued flea combing and regular baths. My cat that I have now doesn't want to go outside at all. I haven't put anymore flea meds on her since the rash she had from revolution. I don't bathe her. She has no fleas.
