I’m looking forward to spending time with family this holiday season. My mom passed 7 years ago at the young age of 64 and my dad passed 2 years ago at the age of 71; both had cancer. I remarried last December after being divorced for 9 years…and I am thankful for my dear in-laws- they are my family❤

Happy Thanksgiving all week long, Mary Ellen. I’m grateful for this You Tube channel that you have created for the enjoyment of so many of us. I’m looking forward to being with all of my grandchildren at Christmastime in December. Bliss!
Thank you for another "sisterly chat" as I call it. I am looking forward to December because I celebrate the holiday spirit the entire month by doing advent calendars with my loved ones, both here with me and afar, starting on Dec 1st and each day after for 24 days. I Facetime with my sissy and my 9 year old grandniece every day after she gets home from school and we each open an advent window/box from our treat calendar for that year, and I read a short daily chapter from a children's advent book that has part of a Christmas story to expand upon each day. This year we will be reading How Winston Delivered Christmas. We all love seeing what each of us received as a daily treat and love to hear the story unfold each day. In the evening, I Facetime with my mother, who lives in another state, and we have a cup of tea from our tea advent calendar and a piece of cheese from our cheese advent (we both have the same ones) and we open a window/box from our advent calendar together (we have the same one). I start my morning with a coffee kcup from a coffee advent that I do with my grown son and we text about how we liked that day's flavor. I gift a chocolate advent calendar to him and my lovie (same one) and hear about how they liked that day's yummy truffle treat. My dogs and cat also have an advent calendar to enjoy each day. It takes a little pre-planning to do this and coordinate it, yet it is so worth it. We all enjoy the little surprises each day and the connection with one another. It truly does bring daily joy for 24 days and helps us stay in the moment and savor the beauty, love, and connection of the holiday spirit.

I’m looking forward to watching my grandkids’ eyes light up as they open their Christmas presents. Last Christmas I purchased tickets to take them to see Taylor Swift’s Era’s tour. I watched All the Light we Cannot See on Netflix and cried my eyes out. I wouldn't say I enjoyed it but it was still brilliant. I've separated from my husband and this was my first weekend without my children. The silence has been so hard to deal with, I'm missing them terribly. In December I'm looking forward to Christmas with them and all the Christmassy events I have planned for us 🥰♥️ xx

Hmm in December… I love winter weather. Being retired I don’t need to go out in the cold. So I open the blinds and sit in my rocking chair and read. I sometimes turn on the fireplace and just think about how blessed I am to be able to sit there all warm and cozy and living life.!

In December, I look forward to our Christmas Parade of Lights here in my hometown. We have an evening parade & all the floats & entries are lit up! It’s a magical evening beginning with the parade, and then the local shops are open late & there are food vendors and all sorts of activities. I roam the streets visiting with friends I rarely see throughout the year. It’s a wonderful beginning to the Christmas season!

Hello MaryEllen, I am looking forward to having Thanksgiving in Mexico. My parents, and siblings will head to Puerto Vallarta again this year to celebrate. Our family has gotten so small over the years, and my SIL is a teacher, so taking off and enjoying a turkey dinner in Mexico has become the new traditon! I am looking forward to 2 weeks off school. I work with emotionally disturbed teens and we are still reeling from the aftermath of the lockdown. Hello. It is like meeting up with an old friend when I listen to you talking on your videos.
For years, Thanksgiving has been a huge dinner with family and a few close friends. My husband loves to cook and the tables are always loaded.
This year, his children are spending the day with their friends. So, we had a large meal on Saturday.
The year has also seen a lot of health issues between the two of us. So, it is going to be a day of quiet reflection, counting our blessings and being thankful ❤😊

Mary Ellen, in December my darling boy will be on holiday leave from the United States Army. He’s stationed in Texas and I’m in Michigan so I don’t get to see him often. He and my daughter have planned some things for us to do while he’s home like attending a Detroit Red Wings game and watching a performance of Frozen at the Detroit Opera House. I have had the same issue with my granddaughters boyfriends! One is absolutely worthy - he is now a future grand son in law. And another has had a wonderful boyfriend for 6 years and he recently asked mom and dad if he has their blessing to propose to my granddaughter. Definitely both Christmas gift worthy..
