Fuckin right buddy! tool and mastodon reign supreme as my fav metal bands, anything with that inquisitive progressive stoner style doom riffs, you should check out SLEEP there the guys who started the stoner metal scene
Jordan Mayer sleep is fucking awesome. holy mountain is one of my all time favorite albums, and my god dopesmoker has to be one of the heaviest, trippiest songs/albums i've heard in some time. nothing like smoking a bowl (or taking a dissociative if you are into it :P) and laying in bed with the lights off to that shit. hehe PS - you all seem to have fine tastes in metal :)
The Sword is hands down one of the best bands around right now. I hope in 20 years a different generation looks back on them as the Sabbath of this time
10 years* I discovered this band trying to find something that gave me the same vibe as Sabbath, it's not exactly the same but it's close enough for me
All their music has powerful, precise, and complex yet clean and simple riffs, the opening to Warp Riders has to be one of my favourite from these guys
they tap the roots of what is called metal and once you become aware to that you will see that all The Sword's music no matter how mellow it SEEMS is heavy as a waterfall
+thericeman97 I think it's funny you say you hear BLS instead of Ozzy since Zakk Wylde has been Ozzy's primary guitar player after Randy Rhoads died. A lot of Ozzy is going to sound similar to BLS or vice versa. I'm not trying to be an internet douche it's perfectly possible that if you aren't 40 like I am you aren't as familiar with Ozzy as BLS. But yeah that Sabbath doom is in there and the riffs are musically close to Zakks style (minus the pinch harmonics)
AJSTITAN14 i meant its a mix of zakk wyldes voice with the instumental style of black sabbath. Hes almost spot on with zak more than ozzy. This is coming from a huge sabbath fan btw.
Saw them at The Wild Buffalo in Bellingham WA a few weeks ago. Tiny venue for a big band, and they had that place rocking hard. Great crowd, great show! The Atomic Bitchwax was great too.
First listening to this band when winter wolves came out...just a pleasure to see them progress into the band they are today. Never a bad tune, always rocking!
TheZOMBIEJ then why comment at all? The song is indeed about Isis, it’s a bit more complex than just that... it’s called ‘double speak’ look it up! The song is about the Middle East... the black pill she took was heroine which comes from the East, the poppy flower like in the wizard of Oz... the terrorist group ISIS takes inspiration from the statue in France called the veil of Isis... again it’s all very complicated... to make it as simple as possible, even though it contradicts much to what we have been told about in history... the Saudi Arabian royal family and the Islamic state own the entire planet earth! They own America, the own Canada, they own Asia, they own Africa, they own the British royal family, they own the pope... ALL of it!
I don't know it this is public knowledge so sorry if everyone already knows. But, I discovered that by not updating my adobe flash player commercials can't load on youtube and it just skips to the video. I haven't watched a commercial in over 6 months.
Irish Jake Don't let these jokers stop you. I saw them in OKC and it was the best show I've ever seen. Not a single missed note all night and I've listened to all of their albums dozens of times.
As the Night arrives the Day concedes her crown In the dying light the shadows grow When the world is dark and still without a sound That which was hidden is shown Tears of sorrow flood the land All that has been shall be again The dead will rise and The living must depart And what if all you've seen are lies When the veil lifts from your eyes And you face the infinite With fear in your heart? The wind blows cold and the days begin to wane The lord of the dead assumes his throne When men have gone and only ghosts remain That which was secret is known Tears of sorrow flood the land All that has been shall be again And the moon shines over the sea As the mother of man Somewhere seven ships collide And seven sailors lose their lives But their voyage continues On the other side As above, So below Queen of Heaven She who knows
Just seen “Hellion” a 2014 movie w- Aaron Paul. A few young ‘hellion’ teens wore Sword (and Slayer) shirts. The soundtrack for this movie is great! Sword, Slayer + Metallica. Sadly I haven’t heard Sword, since late 80s, so I enjoyed this movie.
Saw them 2 weeks ago in Minneapolis, MN god damn they rocked my socks off, crowd needed to get their heads out of their asses and have some fun they even played an encore into Arrows in the Dark was epic \m/
+Spencer Dude I just saw them this week and they kicked ass, but the crowd was a bunch of stale fish. I felt out of place for my uncontrollable head banging.
that they sound like Sabbath (btw, that is how you spell it) is one of the reasons why I enjoy this video and their music. Nothing wrong with it at all
I'm really loving this classic metal revival movement..... I guess you can call it Stoner Metal, but bands like Elder, The Sword, Witchcraft, Torche.....
I Like this band very mich . Cool Sound. I' m a Sabbath Fan. So..this music of the sword ist the next Answer vor the Future. I Hope to see you next year , after Corona , in Wacken.👍👍👍
If you think that the prime moment in their career was opening up for Metallica, you've already missed more than half of their band's life thus far, and should look even further back.
you do realize how many sub genres there are of metal right? people actually refer to death metal as growls. he is right. just depends on the type of metal and whether you have growls, screams or clean vocals.
The Sword and Clutch are pretty much the best bands that still play great old-timey rock music.
the sword is right up there with tool and mastodon as one of my all time favorites.
u have such a fine taste!

DasGutenFilth deezusOFnazerath I agree Das Guten Filth deezus of Nazerath, and dont forget THE life-enders, Gojira.
Richie Trott I got to see them yesterday at shiley acres with clutch
One of the best bands currently around that not enough people know about
Considering they have a music video, id have to disagree with that
Shh
Don’t ruin it
I totally agree! The Sword are badass!
5 years later... still a true statement.
5 years later... still a true statement.
The band is unbelievably great. Haven't heard great rock like this in over 3 decades.
King Buffalo
In 30-60 years this song will hang as legendary melody
The Sword deserves more viewer and listener. They're great
couldn't agree more :-) i'll certainly be spreading the word
Face melted off. 11/10 would melt again.
Found them on a surf channel guys carving up waves to this 😮
Outstanding retro rock. This is what Rock 'n Roll sounded like 40 years ago, with both a concept and musicianship.
The Sword is hands down one of the best bands around right now. I hope in 20 years a different generation looks back on them as the Sabbath of this time

Replying ten years later, YES!
All their music has powerful, precise, and complex yet clean and simple riffs, the opening to Warp Riders has to be one of my favourite from these guys
I simply cannot stop listening to The Sword. They're like the children of Trouble.
is it just me or do i hear ozzy and a black sabbath influence? Pretty freaking sweet if you ask me.
I hear a mix of sabbath and black label society
they tap the roots of what is called metal and once you become aware to that you will see that all The Sword's music no matter how mellow it SEEMS is heavy as a waterfall

+AJSTITAN14 i can hear influences of Ozzy, Sabbath, And BLS, but in my opinion, this has a close sound to Mastodon

Very happy I discovered this band, The Sword And Crobot are my Favorite New bands, well new to me! Gotta love this style of Metal! \m/
Bought this album at my local record store yesterday. IT SLAYS!!! Can't wait to see them live in november when they open up for Clutch heheheheh
Just discovered this band through a friend.
Pretty much everything I want
Matt Turner exactly
These guys got ALL the riffs 🔥 🎸
saw them in birmingham AL on Nov.19. they played a very good show
They kicked ass in Atlanta last week...definitely worth seeing live if you get the chance
First listening to this band when winter wolves came out...just a pleasure to see them progress into the band they are today. Never a bad tune, always rocking!
best since sabbath...looking forward to seeing you@boston hob this sinday...my church..
When I watch The Kingdom or Viking I mute the Tv and play The Sword. Goes perfect! 👌🏻
Love the still frame of "ISIS" as the thumbnail.
TheZOMBIEJ then why comment at all? The song is indeed about Isis, it’s a bit more complex than just that... it’s called ‘double speak’ look it up! Bruh, put the heroin down. The pill is just the charlatan "giving" your own divinity back to you. Nothing to do with the Saudis lol.
I don't know it this is public knowledge so sorry if everyone already knows. But, I discovered that by not updating my adobe flash player commercials can't load on youtube and it just skips to the video. I haven't watched a commercial in over 6 months.
Great song! Heavy and well done!
agreed\m/
This is one of my favorite fucking songs and band.
Hey this song gave my puberty a sequel. Thanks buddy.
I would eat my foot to see them in concert.
Seriously..
Brutal
I saw them in Nashville last year. They were really good, but their set only lasted 45 minutes with no crowd interaction.
Irish Jake I was so, SO disappointed when I saw them in Flint, MI. And I was SO excited. Still think they're awesome, tho!
Cannibal, u need help,
Irish Jake Don't let these jokers stop you. I saw them in OKC and it was the best show I've ever seen. Not a single missed note all night and I've listened to all of their albums dozens of times.
These guys were great live. Saw them when they toured this record and warp rides. Baller
Gets me fired up to go surf. Every time
screaming vocals arent bullshit you just cant appreciate the complexity and skill that goes into it.
2011 found this song, and i comeback here now to listen this legend
the sword, red fang, and orange goblin are my favorite bands.
As the Night arrives the Day concedes her crown
In the dying light the shadows grow
When the world is dark and still without a sound
That which was hidden is shown
Tears of sorrow flood the land
All that has been shall be again
The dead will rise and
The living must depart
And what if all you've seen are lies
When the veil lifts from your eyes
And you face the infinite
With fear in your heart?
The wind blows cold and the days begin to wane
The lord of the dead assumes his throne
When men have gone and only ghosts remain
That which was secret is known
Tears of sorrow flood the land
All that has been shall be again
And the moon shines over the sea
As the mother of man
Somewhere seven ships collide
And seven sailors lose their lives
But their voyage continues
On the other side
As above,
So below
Queen of Heaven
She who knows

Very good band here ... Just discover and thats real nice
song hits me harder than my alcoholic father does
Best comment Cameron Fisher
hahah
Saw them 2 weeks ago in Minneapolis, MN god damn they rocked my socks off, crowd needed to get their heads out of their asses and have some fun they even played an encore into Arrows in the Dark was epic \m/
+Spencer I was there man and I agree with you. Crowd sucked.

+Spencer Dude I just saw them this week and they kicked ass, but the crowd was a bunch of stale fish. I felt out of place for my uncontrollable head banging.
If they get any UK dates I will check them out, ive listened to some of there other music
The voice continues on the other side to where those seven sisters are sobbing by the shore...
I love this band/song but that last minute or so is absolutely one of the most crushing pieces of music ever written. Holy fuck.
When I heard "Freya" off of Guitar Hero II and found their 2006 "Age of Winters" album, I knew these guys could only get bigger and bigger.
That riff at 4:50 gives me goose bumps
Dude, that riff could crush bones to dust.
This music video confirms my suspicion that at least 50% of The Sword's music is actually about taking drugs and tripping balls. Most excellent ;)
There are 2 bands, Sword and The Sword. They play the same damn style of music. And I fucking love it.
Looking forward to seeing these guys with primus on their rush tribute tour.
This song is so fuckin' rifftastic that the two best parts are at the end after all of your other favorite parts
that they sound like Sabbath (btw, that is how you spell it) is one of the reasons why I enjoy this video and their music. Nothing wrong with it at all
One of my favorite "new" bands, even though they're not really new anymore.
I'm really loving this classic metal revival movement..... I guess you can call it Stoner Metal, but bands like Elder, The Sword, Witchcraft, Torche.....
+Cole Jordan Check out Red Fang, I promise you won't be disappointed.
QuikSlvr223
Yo, I LOVE Red Fang!
+Cole Jordan red fang is fucking awesome too
Glowsun is pretty awesome too
I do believe they are on tour with them right now so I'd go out on a limb and say yes.
So cool, they sound exactly like early 70's Sabbath, I hear Snowblind in several of their songs.
seeing them in January, can't wait
Sharon Osbourne is filing a lawsuit as this song plays.
That bishes Ozempric prescription just ran out.
I think it has a huge Thin Lizzy sound in it myself but see the Sabbath comparisons neothepyro mentions also!Proper tune!
4:30 PURE AWESOME!!!!
CANT STOP HITTING REPLAY!
this song gives me chills
Think these guys grew up listening to Sabbath?
affirmative, good call!
Chad Van Oostendorp reeeeeeally?
Maybe man, just maybe.
Not only sabbath, but thin lizzy, iron maiden, mettalica...
Actually thats a main inspiration for them, theyre categorized in terms of genre as stoner rock, metal, and folk rock.
wow I feel really exclusive being under the first few to watch this video this is awesome!
wow! great!! one of the best videos for me!!! enjoy!!
at least someone can still make kickass music
There is a little Ozzy in the vocals but it's a pretty good song, and a great video to boot.
I Like this band very mich . Cool Sound. I' m a Sabbath Fan. So..this music of the sword ist the next Answer vor the Future. I Hope to see you next year , after Corona , in Wacken.👍👍👍
I would disagree with you, but you're completely 100% correct about that.
super unique video. wish more artist did that.
he does ,its class
Great sound. If you are an old school metal head. Its repetitive, but brings back the Sabbath sound...
This band is soo awsome
This makes you wanna do something! That video 😍 sweet af.
a like all your music material bros! fu.. thanks!!!
lml
the sword is the best band out right now
3.42 pure power of metal on display!
I gave this more than once chance.
watched u lads in adelaide soundwave, flawless performance
have quickly become one of my favourite bands!
Love thos song.....
saw 'em live yesterday, they're fucking awesome! rarely seen something this good. never actually. well, until now of course.
ad-block, mi amigo. its a life saver.
I’m 58 and gotta say HELL YEAH to THIS.🤟🏼
that riff at 3:43. Jesus christ
That was tiiiigght. Thank you Sword for not sucking.
I saw them at the hellfest, in france, they were the best band out of the mainstages :D
Great tune from a band I only just heard of a year ago. Very "Corrosion Of Conformity-ish!!" Daddy digs it.
lol @ guys who call themselves daddy
Very old school!
It s awesome song and the video....
:-)
Haters should just go sit on their thumbs.
Underrated.
You bind a Goddess at your own risk. Woe to you when She awakens.
Interesting.I will check it!!!!Thanks!!!!
If you think that the prime moment in their career was opening up for Metallica, you've already missed more than half of their band's life thus far, and should look even further back.
seeing these guys in July, fuck yeah
Good song, real good band !!
and beautiful song
if this stuff was on the radio it would cause a metal re-genesis maybee even a return of rock/metal stations
The Sword!!
she makes a merkaba at the end...there is a lot of dark symbolism in this video
The best doom/ heavy metal band alive!
it´s kinda cool, I like the song
you do realize how many sub genres there are of metal right? people actually refer to death metal as growls. he is right. just depends on the type of metal and whether you have growls, screams or clean vocals.
