Um..... they were a CANON couple on the show. And one of the characters died, someone asked the to create and scene in which the dead one comes back to life. There's no gutter to get out of. No one asked for porn, not even a kiss, just for the one character who died to BE ALIVE. People wanted a HAPPY ENDING to a CANON COUPLE, to a ship they connected with. Maybe you don't, but people usually want happy endings to the shows they watch. I certainly want the characters I watch for 5+ years to end on a good note. I don't like them when they die.
