- This is a free (and copyright-free) PO-32 kit I made with Sonic Charge's Microtonic (amazing plugin, by the way). I know there are plenty of TR-808 kits for the PO-32 aka PO-32 Tonic out there and so you might be like “dude, why should I choose your PO 32 kit?!” Well, the answer’s actually quite simple, really: I haven’t ripped the sounds in this sound pack off this one famous Microtonic preset bank…I actually made these sounds from scratch, comparing them to the sounds of my own TR-808. This way, I tried to recreate every single TR-808 drum hit. So if you use these sounds, you won't be running into any kind of legal issues because you used copyrighted material. This is a free and copyright-free TR-808 PO 32 kit, after all, right? The software sibling of the PO-32 Tonic - the Microtonic - is super useful when it comes to replicating old Roland drum machines...well, let me put it another way, the Microtonic is not just great when it comes to replicating drum machines, much more, it is a monster of a drum synth! So, if you want to create PO 32 kits or PO-32 sound packs yourself, check Microtonic!!!
Anyway, all you have to do to get this PO 32 kit is follow the on-screen instructions I have included in the data transfer section at the end of this video. I'd recommend using an audio cable but data transfer should also work just fine without a cable (you might have to boost the volume, though). Have fun with this PO 32 kit!
While we're at it, why don’t you grab my free drums sample pack as well:

Feel free to check my other packs on gumroad as well:

All my samples and kits are copyright free - you can use them in your own productions, videos, whatever. The main thing is: have fun with this kit (or any of my other kits or packs)!!! If you make a cool track with one of my kits or sample packs, let me know!

What kit do you want me to do next? POLY SYNTH or TECHNO DRUMS?
Poly Synth!
@@thekanehall poly synth💪
Oh jeez, man, what a question. I am really into deep synth at the moment. Have two synths feeding back through each other. At least two (reverberating) filters. (SYNTHS: Crave + WASP)
Ok, then I guess...POLY SYNTH is the winner...
Techno drums, anyone?
Great sounding kit, those jams are classic and spot on!
Thaaaaaanks!!!
Far out another kit that sounds great, I think the tonic will be my most used machine soon haha thanks so much for making these kits mate they are awesome 🎆🙌
Glad you like them!
Excellent! Great stuff for old school beats! Thanks!
Yeah! Glad you like it!!!
It's 2024. I just got a PO-33 and I'm looking at some small synths and drum machines. I'm thinking Volca Beats, PO-32, or Roland T-8, or using Drumsynth on my MPC One+. PO-32 with Microtonic is looking mighty fine.
Yeah, it's a great combo...also, Microtonic is freaking awesome...the UI may seem a little out-dated but it's one hell of a drum engine!!!
Thank you for sharing this kit. Very clean and punchy.
Thanks, mate! Glad you like it!
Nice one. This is a feature of later POs. Have been working with the Tonic and KO in a similar fashion.
Glad you like it, mate!
Yeah this is great, cheers. Haven't got microtonic but I'm certain I wouldn't have the patience to engineer sounds like these. Quality stuff mate.
Yeah, you're absolutely right - creating these sounds and/or patches takes an awful lot of time...but hey, I really love doing this kind of stuff😎 Anyway, glad you like the kit, mate!!!
I still can't get over the sound quality of these Pocket Operators. Nice one!
They're amazing, righ?
i’ve had the three pack (tonic, speak,ko)for years from amazon and just realized how wonderful and powerful these are..
thanks dude!
Yooo sick kit man thank you !
Yeah...thanks, mate!!! Glad you like it!!!
amazing sounds!
THANKS!!!
Nice, like that bass line!✨
Thanks, mate!
It’s Alive!!! Thank you
Yeah! Glad you like it! Have a good one!!!
This sounds great! I like how the sounds all are within a useable range.
I'll throw that on my PO-35 soon. Sadly I don't have the 32 anymore (gotta get it again).
One idea for a kit would be a trap kit with some drums and a few 808 basses to choose from.
Keep up the great work! 👍
Oooooh great idea! Thank you so much, mate!!! Have fun with the kit!
@@CNTRRNDM My pleasure, looking forward what you make. Also another idea would be to try to recreate the drums of a certain producer/song!
@@SONWU thanks for sharing all these incredible ideas, mate! Any suggestions as to what "in the style of kits" you would like to see?
@@CNTRRNDM Kanye is always good ;)
@@SONWU yeezy🤘 what a great idea!!! What would you prefer...Gold Digger Yeezy or Yeezus Yeezy?🤔
Thank you !!
You're welcome!
thank you
Yeah! No biggie, mate! Glad you like it!!!
So good! I will load it right now on my po-32 🙌
YEAH! Glad to hear that!!!
Ich hab eine Session mit dem Kit gemacht 🙌
@@wiggesobk cool, check ich gleich mal!!!
😇 dope
YEAH!!! Thanks, mate!!!
Hi mate. A quick question if you don't mind? Do you find that the po-32 is just a tiny bit lacking in the oomph of the drums. Or maybe it's something I'm doing wrong, or maybe I'm used to compression being added in samples etc. Or maybe it's that analogue touch. Great kit BTW much appreciated.
Mmmh, yeah...that's actually a good question. As much as I love the PO-32, I'll have to agree with you on that one. I think it all comes down to the fact that you can't really affect the master output - as you already mentioned, compression would be a very nice feature to add here but as Magnus Lindström stated in an interview with Cuckoo (it's here on RUclips, you should check it out, it's super fun and pretty insightful), the PO-32 is pretty much all maxed out; there's simply no storage space for any additional FX left.
However, I add most of the "oomph" in the DAW...I'll often use a combination of compression, multiband compression, and transient designer to get the drums to sound how I want them to sound.
So, if you want to, you can send me a PO-32 recording and I'll check if your PO-32 sounds "normal".
Great work mate! Thx for sharing :) Is this an old operator or a special edition? Greetings cya
Thanks, mate! Erm, nah, it's just a regular PO-32 Tonic.
quite an achievement!
Yeah! Thanks, mate!!!
Don't mind if I do! Thanks dude!
Cheers, mate! Glad you like it!
I just purchased a used PO-32 today! 😅👍
Welcome to the team, mate!!! Hope you enjoy it!
@@CNTRRNDM Well darn ... but thanks to this video I was able to double check and confirm that the seller mislabeled the Pocket Operator ... it is not a Tonic but rather a K.O. so I requested a refund. Shame too. :(
@@HazeAnderson well, sorry to hear that...BUT the PO-33 is amazing as well...so you might as well keep it!😁
@@CNTRRNDM that's the thing ... I already have the PO-33 AND the PO-133 xD
@@HazeAnderson oooookay, that sucks! Hope you get the refund...fingers crossed!!!
WOW
This sounds great!
Can't wait to grab one of these
Seems like a more reliable replacement for my tek.drum. it's way too easy to hit wrong button on that one. I want to get a micro drum machine that can load samples and this or PO-33 seem great.
Which one do you like better?
Glad you like it, mate! Well, it depends, really. If you can afford both, I'd say go for both because then you get the best of both worlds (ok, why do I sound like Hannah Montana, all of a sudden?)...sampling and drum synthesis. In combination with Microtonic, the PO-32 is my favourite. However, if you decide to go for a PO-33, I'd recommend you the PO-133 because it's very much a PO-33 but on steroids (when it comes to trimming samples). The important thing to note here is: you can't go wrong! Both devices are amazing!!!
@@CNTRRNDM could you explain the difference between po33 and po133? i have the 33 and was always wondering if it is the same with different samples/"display style" or if there are major changes
@@monatooo hey...erm, yeah, so basically, the PO-33 and the PO-133 are absolutely identical...the only difference is that they seem to have improved the trimming algorithm/functionality. I find that trimming samples on the PO-33 - let's be honest - is a pain! Trimming points keep changing, they freeze where you don't want them to and stuff like that. On the PO-133, however, the trimming process is easier, less tedious and more precise.
@@CNTRRNDM interesting, thanks so much!
@@monatooo anytime!!!
