    James is a great DJ no doubt but after hearing the 'loop tightening+fader cuts' more than a couple of times in a mix i wanna unplug His CDJs, same goes for the endless 'Noise Effect+cutting' shenanigans xD
    It gets so old so quick, much prefer hearing a little scratching with Vocals or Vocal loops ect.

      @LeeJaaijMusicTV 3 года назад

      in every video he does the same, and it feels like he does it with every track. sure he got the skills, but sometimes less is more

    • @bigdaz7272
      @bigdaz7272 3 года назад

      @@LeeJaaijMusicTV Dude is hella talented no question what so ever and he deserves all the success that goes with it, he has 4 decks playing a hell of a lot of the time which is hell a hard so he got the skills for Days. I remember hearing James speaking about starting as an open format DJ with Serato and Turntables and he says he was pretty awesome at but moves to CDJs as he wanted to be known as a House DJ/producer and that was the format that was accepted for clubs ect.
      So dude obviously got those creative vocal loop scratches/cuts/drops down for sure, they sound so much better than endless Noise+Fader Cuts ect. My 2 cents. Who am i to critique anyway, he obviously killin it doing what he is doing so.

    Watched this video again this AM. While the visual cue points are VERY useful, if I go away from a song for a while and come back to it, I often forget what I originally set the cue points for. A helpful tip that I picked up along they way (maybe from you) is to go into your DJ software and name the cue point by the action I need to take at that cue point. For example, "Cue point A" becomes "Play Next" and/or "Cue point B" might be "1 beat loop", etc, etc. The notes you can add for the cue points are limitless.

      I have the Hercules inpulse 300 and I do James hype style routines like this every day. The volume faders and cue buttons are still like new after 5 months of hard abuse from the fast loop cutting and cue drumming songs. It will stand up to the abuse when as you progress. As a beginner though it has a “beat match guide” which really helped me to learn the basics. For a beginner or intermediate DJ you can’t go wrong with it!

    When the loop gets tightened using the platter, is it still tightening by 1/2x?
    The denon prime go doesn't have the ability to tighten the loop using the platter but it can tighten further by 1/2x. I was curious if the effect was the same using the platter vs the loop tighten button and if it's just personal preference?

    • @djcarlo
      @djcarlo  Год назад

      Pretty much yes! From, let's say, 1 beat. Tightening it goes 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 etc so half of the previous one. But I don't think the Prime Go has that unfortunately

    Can't you just use the Vinyl Break Release Pad FX? 3/4 beat perhaps?
    It feels easier cause you can just let go of the button to stop the brake.

    • @djcarlo
      @djcarlo  3 года назад

      Shalom my man! Thanks for being a fan, really appreciate that!
      With your acapella, there's a chance that the program might've made a mistake in mapping the beat grid. Try manually adjusting the acapella to the 4 on the floor beat of the EDM track, and edit the BPM from there!
