Kitei - as taught by Sensei Nishiyama

Kitei (compulsory form) was created by Sensei Nishiyama with the help of Master Mabuni of Shito Ryu & Master Kisake of Goju Ryu. It has elements from Naha Te & Shurei Te.
It is used in the Fukugo competition event, where the athlete has to perform both kata & kumite, with the idea that a person should not focus only on one or the other, since kata & kumite are like a hand and a glove.
In all other kata we accept that there are variations and interpetations, in kata Kitei there should be no variations.

Thank you, sensei. I was just thinking about this the other day. Please consider: Perhaps moving the camera slightly right or left of the centerline would allow viewers to better see some techniques.

Great instruction, i remenber when i learnd this kata, i was so excited ir was new (to me) and was a kind of a mix of Shuri te and naha te, right on the spirit of Funakoshi Sensei.
Your videos always give me, interesting details.
