    • @MuLife

      The first i did on this jaguar was replace the fuel pump. I managed to cut the metal sheet from above the rear seat and get access to it. There are drill measurements available online.

    My 2004 is knocking and I plan on replacing the engine, just wondering will the 3.0 engine from a later x type model still be compatible with my current 2004 ecm as long as the vin matches?

    Hie man, I am one of your subscribers. I dont know if you can help with this one. My jaguar x-type engine is losing compression and cant move uphill even on a flat slope. My mechanic is suggesting opening the engine and is suspecting piston issues etc. The entire job seems so costly and I am not a fan of opening engines as the performance of the engine may not be the same or worse. I intend to replace my engine instead as it seems cheaper and more safer. my problem here is that my Jaguar X-type is a 2.1L 2WD and I'm only finding either 2.5L engines or 3.0L engines. Will there be a problem if i replace my engine with a 2.5L or 3.0L engine since they look similar is size but differ as the these other 2 are AWDs? what else would i need to change if i am replacing with either a 2.5L or 3.0L engine?

    • @nrw34260
      @nrw34260 11 месяцев назад

      I had the same problem. It could be the actuator, blockage in the intercooler, or turbo. My problem was the the actuator lever he'd come off the turbo, because the circlip had come off. Virtually stripped the engine before I found it.

    I need to do both catalytic converters and I'm debating whether to go this route or partially drop the subframe. any thoughts?

    • @MuLife
      @MuLife  3 года назад

      Might as well try partially dropping the subframe first before tackling a big job.

    • @MuLife
      @MuLife  5 лет назад +2

      @@fresh55n9ne It is possible that it is an exhaust leak from the manifold or catalystic. Only way to find out is to trace the sound and see where the source is.

      Check the flanges that connect from exhaust manifolds. What worked for me was blowing air into the mufflers and using soapy water to find the area of concern.
