I was thinking about getting Wii Fit because Balance Boards are now only $15 at GameStop. Now I know what I'll spend my next $25 on! As for online, I'd rather not have that in a fitness game. Sure something like Miiverse would be great, but I don't want losing weight to be a contest. I just want encouragement. Adding leaderboards to weight loss would be upsetting when all of a sudden someone drops a ton more weight than you in the same amount of time.
I got it today at Costco too for $17.79 - and we love it. It seems to be well worth the money and right on the mark with the main review above. I love that the kids can easily switch off from one to the other (multi-user) and we had fun (and a workout) trying to measure our less-than-cooperative dog, and they love the skateboard game a lot. So far, I'd say it has been well worth it!
This game is great ! I really recommend it to people that want to lose weight, I lost 1 kg in 1 week (also because I focused on my diet too) but wii fit did help me alot :'D
Last night I realised my height was still 4'11'' and the Wii kept calling me 'at risk of overweight' and I was like 'Um no?' so I got my height changed and I'm finally properly in 'Healthy Weight' ;u; (I'm tall for my age lmao don't judge me.)
my bathroom scale is also completely thrown off, because it's so old, but you bodyweight can vary throughout the day, so unless you've been weighting yourself on the scales a short period in between, trust the balance board if it's standing on a flat surface
Yui well In your bathroom the tiles might not be at the same height like a tile might be 1mm up Go to somewhere where there is flat and then yea if it shows 136 it’s broken and the wii has electronic pressure pads that are very hard to trick
i LOVE this game. Because of this i lost so much weight & when I play it, i dont want to stop its just so much fun. The only annoying thing about it is the trainers they stress me out alot sometimes. but other than that its a amazing game. Ever since I started playing this people at my school noticed I looked skinny : )

Yes conventional excersise is good, however one people have busy lives and sometimes do not have the time to go to a gym, and some people are on a more restrictive budget and a wii fit as a piece of equipment in the long run is cheeper than gym membership. Aside from that its more fun than conventional excersise.

Um that's another thing. Zelda never had an issue when it came to the Wii controls of Twilight Princess. You could aim much more precisely with the wii remote, swing the remote every so often for battles, and that's really it. The rest of the time, you move around, switch easily your items in your inventory with the D-pad and minus button and just explore. I see where you are getting at, but you should have established this argument a while ago, with the "balance between mashing and motion"
oh ok. Good. I agree. But don't ever think the wii is all "wavy-wavy". The good Game Developers haven't forgotten the "button mashers", and as for choice, yes I love the gift of choosing. In fact, I plan to get a PS3 Slim soon, not because I'm "tired" of my wii like it's a generalisation, but because there are certain games I really want to play that I cannot get for the Wii, and...well...I am a Playstation fan too.
actually if you want a proper bike for some excersising it'll cost about 800-900 dollars depending on where you live. besides those 80 year olds are still in pretty good shape.
@MrHossCartwright It might be the answer. The only way to lose weight is to choose a way,and stick to it for a long time. I lost roughly 26 pounds in 6 months,and I'm very satisfied now,although most of this was done at a gym. The problem with a gym is that you don't have to go there,and it takes more time for you to get there. With the wii fit,you can exercise whenever,and I like that a lot. I don't think that I'm gonna go for like an hour when I start exercising,but usually I do.
@MrHossCartwright Anything that has you eating right and exercising regularly is the right answer! If a Wii game is going to get you to do that then it's for you.
no you need the balance board. there is a program called my fitness couch that only cost $20 that all you need is the disc, and not really any equipments unless you want to get some of your own. ex. exercise ball, weights, etc.
@CALALAMILA You need a copy of the game and a balance board. They come packaged together but are also sold separately, so be careful not to get the game on its own.
I like EA sports active people should try that game because it gets you sweating faster than wii fit, there are trophies to unlock,there are more variety in the activities, you don't need a balance board(it's actually better not to use one in this game)and it was designed by a pro trainer

I have this game....love love love it!!! I think my favorite is the Island Cycling! The Bird's Eye Bull's Eye is fun as well...but man, does it make your arms hurt!!!
I got the wii fit plus for everyone on Christmas. It's fun as hell, my wife has been using it like crazy and actually dropped 4 pounds since Christmas. I'd absolutely recommend the wii fit.
I agree. I am moving out of town into the "boonies". This will help keep me in shape when it will be hard to get to the gym. I have paid for memberships and they usually are a waste of money.

you need to excersise for a half hour to 45 minutes per day to burn substancial calories, start with. 10 pushups 20 sit ups then, a ten minute jog, if you get too tired walk for 10 seconds, then start jogging again. work your way up to a 30+ min jog. Getting to sleep by 10pm, no alcahol and proper diet help a huge amount.
im not 2 sure but wii fit plus might be just an upgrade for wii fit.. which means i think u have to have wii fit (1st disk) to use it.. im not sure, ask your favourite games store or wherever ur buying it...
My only problem with this is how does the game stop you picking up bad techniques? I mean sure they can give you instructions on alignment and such.... but it is hard to see it yourself without a mirror. Anybody know how well the game stops this happening?

its pretty good, especially the cardio exercises the blance board games give a nice break to the traditional exercises and you fell like you are having fun while exercising
the wii and wii fit are not a gym.you want to get in shape go to a gym or do a home work-out for the best results don't buy this with the idea of "im gonna get in awesome shape just by doing what it says"

BMI might be a method of measurement that doesn't take enough into account, but I don't think it should count as a "minus". If they just used kg that wouldn't work either... Pretty sure Wii Fit U will use it again, just like medicine does as well.

I love that they have more balance games. They are a lot of fun in the original and they do make you work out and move while you're not even noticing.

wii fit plus is honestly the best thing i have ever bought. It may not have helped me lose any weight, but it has made me heaps stronger and fitter.

You make your own "self" a Mii in the Wii main menu, you can customize it however you want to look.
BMI Is purely a relationship between weight and height. It does not differentiate between fat and muscle (which weighs 3 times more than fat)

Well, I ate light meals, all the healthy things, and did a workout set on the game with cycling and jogging. I did a LOT of jogging.
