I've played with a lot of the lcsv2s. They do REALLY well in almost any enclosure, not as picky as many other subs. I can throw 2 12s or even 10s in my sedan in any box and get 140+dbs on 1300.
Great final thoughts. It's so easy to get caught up in the numbers, but I throw the meter on the windshield once in a while and honestly I rarely listen to it over maybe 125
I have 2 dd audio redline hd 10's in my super duty im happy with them pushing them with a kicker key 500.1 in sealed box they sound great haha and in my other super duty I got 4 sundown sa8's pushed by a audioControl 1500.1 also sealed the dd sounds a bit better but the sundown's pound lol when I change out next time I going to try 4 kicker l7 q class 10's if I can make them fit lol. thanks for sharing
DD FTW. my in home setup has 2x dd 506 subs and vo b1 tweeters. in my car i run 1x dd 712 on a SD 3kw evo4 amp and it handles it easily. mids/highs: dd vo m6.5 + dd ex6.5 (rear) + dd CT28 tweeters on a SD 400.4 evo4 amp. very good SQ and it gets loud and plays lows very nicely
They both decent subs but i think i would go with the newer sundown lcsv2. The best budget sub is still the crossfire c3 12. The ones i got my wife are still bumping and sounding good sounded better after i installed the jp8.
I have heard both and the DD is a much better sounding sub. That being said I love Sundown, but your comparing a company that makes Ferrari's to one that makes jacked up Diesel trucks imo.
I personally like the way that dd sounds. I have 2 sl612s in my truck 2 2508s in my vette 2 818s in my tahoe and are presently building a truck with 3 9915bs. I have heard a lot of sundown and they are a quality brand. Just don't understand why people brand bash. "Can't we all just get along"

The statement made by DD was not in relation to an entry-level sub. It was in relation to the super charging of highet model subs using a method that DD used for many years and is now used by Sundown.

Sddn is not the highest end sundown sub, there is the nsv6,the team ferrite, the team neo, the compact neo, and there the inhuman, plus the zv7 in the works. Super charging is not a dd exclusive thing. Many other brand still do or have offered the super charging option. Twisted sounds, crystal audio solutions, and the cab audio ultra v2. Are just a few i find it really odd DD and there fan base took offense to sundown doing it. Like whats wrong bruh skerd sundown is gonna make a better sub

You must have a good sub that basically has good sound and doesn't color too much. Then you have a good starting point and it is easier to get a good sound.

Both are pretty badass sub manufacturers. BUT I still like the Sevard Rap line of subwoofers for an entry level sub. Even the 8 inch Rap sub hits 20 Hz - 500 Hz! Now they do need some power as they are not the most efficient, but still 20 Hz!
Thats a 4inch coil coil vs a 3inch coil. The sundown would take it based on efficiency. The only 4" coil sundown sub i know of is the team. But even at that the sddn would be louder on less power than the 99 series or the team series
I just went from 2 Rockford p2 subs to a midrange dd and my god the sq is amazing. Rockford hits hard but the sound is rubbish. This single dd sub puts a smile on my face no matter what track i listen to.
I have volume control on my Sony ZV-1, but the Rode shotgun mic was only rated for 130db so it was on me. I typically use another deity mic that can handle a bit more

I love sundown, but in my daily now i have a DD-redline 10 with gas pro 1000d amp. Also have 2x GAS GPX300D1 with a to small box with 8 aeroport so i can have low and high hz and use litihum bank from vw up as battery and sundown SCV4000D. Have also ssa spl meter and aiming for 150db+ on the 2x12 :) Also have a box with 4x6.5" box, mby something fun in that later :D
@HifiVega you have the knowledge and tools to make this a proper comparison. You should have pulled the TS on both drivers after the break-in, then build the best music box for each. By using the same box for both. now you have people saying the box is too big or too small for the drivers and we all know the box is 90% of the equation.
Let me address all these assumptions separately. 1. I have a full time job that leaves me only the weekends to spend time with the family and work on video. I spend every Sunday working on video wether it’s editing or capturing video. 2. Both of these drivers have the same recommended enclosures 3. If you’ve ever really built a lot of enclosures you’d know manufacturers recommended airspace’s are usually not optimal and when you pull the specs you find they need something outside the recommended space. 4. I’ve tested over 40 subwoofers are you suggesting I should have spent money on the wood for each one not the mention the time to model each one and build the optimal enclosure? The cost of materials is one thing, but the time is much more valuable to me.
@HifiVega I know it's a lot of work, and I truly thank you for your time. I know there will be people saying you can't compare this over that because each driver performs better with different boxes. Maybe I missed it in your video where you mentioned the test box was within the MFG recommended size. Do keep up the good work and I appreciate you replying back.

Lcs V2 is leaps better than the V1. Maybe a redo with that since I doubt they even produce that V1 anymore… that being said I’m still with DD 😂 across the board.
I've been to a lot of shows, and I've never been in a DD build that made me want to tap. I don't like the surround design either. I know they functionally are fantastic, I am staying visually only, I do not like the DD surround. I've heard a lot of both companies, and from all of the shows I have been to, sundown demo builds have been better. That said, DCFTW 😁
Dd has way better engineered subwoofers. Pound for pound coil for coil dd takes the cake. Epically with the esp and supercharged options. When you talk about flagships... The dd z4 is and insane piece of technology. And it hits soo hard it's unbelievable.
Anyone who is educated about them, knows that DD is a superior company, brand. Sundown is just rebranded Chinese branding. The redline is made in China, but uses DD engineering, research, and patents. I am a big fan of DD audio, but I will admit the entry level Redline stuff is not anything great. The brand new Redline series is improved though also. DD mid tier stuff and higher end stuff is exceptional quality.
dd is top of the line! sundown startet cheap but now the have a name and the charge for the name! sundown market is only use. DD sells to the hole would! and to the mars when elons rocked lands!
I have a 99 Dd 18 and two sundown xv3 12s now the xv3 12s is 2000rms for 650 each now my 99 Dd is 2500 rms but it can handle 10k at burst The Dd motors are way stronger and they have more control when it comes to excursion Dd for the win

You know the Skar IX isn’t that bad of a subwoofer for the money. I don’t know that it would compete with these, but then again I haven’t put them side by side either 🤨
@@HifiVega you know what to do. I mean for $59.49 it’s half the cost of the dd redline. I just want to know how it will compare to them in a real world comparison. I’ve cooked them daily on 700 rms a piece so that should tell you they can handle the power if it’s clean.
The only brand that’s gonna have a cleaner hit than DD is JL audio but if you want to go full spl and be loud with quality sound you go with DD all the way
I have not tried the entry level, but I’ve tested the Tropo 12 extensively and imo both of these subs sounds better. Now if you just wanna get loud then yes the Tropo will beat these both
Thats pretty easy sundown currently holds the world record. Plus that new sddn and that are always making improvements to all their other products not to mention the compact neos and the inhuman. And dd got all but hurt over the sddn thats not to say i dont like dd stuff i own a pair of 9512s there stuff is just over priced
For me I say DD is better because none of their products have failed on me. I’ve had probably half as much sundown audio gear as my DD stuff and have had 2 sundown amps fail, they’re trash.

The sensativity in the dd is 2 db higher so it will be little louder on same power

Cool. We use the Zoom for the band and it is crystal clear, and 4k video. Built in stereo mics too.
DD is alot tighter sounding than sundown subs from my testing.

Lcs V2 is leaps better than the V1. Maybe a redo with that since I doubt they even produce that V1 anymore… that being said I’m still with DD 😂 across the board.
I've been to a lot of shows, and I've never been in a DD build that made me want to tap. I don't like the surround design either. I know they functionally are fantastic, I am staying visually only, I do not like the DD surround. I've heard a lot of both companies, and from all of the shows I have been to, sundown demo builds have been better.

Dd has way better engineered subwoofers. Pound for pound coil for coil dd takes the cake. Epically with the esp and supercharged options. When you talk about flagships... The dd z4 is and insane piece of technology. And it hits soo hard it's unbelievable.

Anyone who is educated about them, knows that DD is a superior company, brand. Sundown is just rebranded Chinese branding. The redline is made in China, but uses DD engineering, research, and patents. I am a big fan of DD audio, but I will admit the entry level Redline stuff is not anything great. The brand new Redline series is improved though also. DD mid tier stuff and higher end stuff is exceptional quality.

I have a 99 Dd 18 and two sundown xv3 12s now the xv3 12s is 2000rms for 650 each now my 99 Dd is 2500 rms but it can handle 10k at burst The Dd motors are way stronger and they have more control when it comes to excursion Dd for the win

@markfrederick5012 I'm not a street shop all I have is a 4 channel ct sounds amplifier I haven't heard anything negative about this company they are down here in Houston and I haven't ran across anyone with their subwoofers all I own is DD PSI FI SUNDOWN AND MASSIVE AUDIO I would go with Dd first then Fi then the rest To be honest with you Jl audio is a good sq subwoofer but I'm not giving them that kinda of money 💰

You know the Skar IX isn’t that bad of a subwoofer for the money. I don’t know that it would compete with these, but then again I haven’t put them side by side either 🤨
@@HifiVega you know what to do. I mean for $59.49 it’s half the cost of the dd redline. I just want to know how it will compare to them in a real world comparison. I’ve cooked them daily on 700 rms a piece so that should tell you they can handle the power if it’s clean.

The only brand that’s gonna have a cleaner hit than DD is JL audio but if you want to go full spl and be loud with quality sound you go with DD all the way

It’s all about perspective. DD Audio had many championships when I was competing before Sundown ever existed.

I have not tried the entry level, but I’ve tested the Tropo 12 extensively and imo both of these subs sounds better. Now if you just wanna get loud then yes the Tropo will beat these both

@@mashutaki Yes. Sundown takes alot of power to sound good. I owned some before. DD are better sounding and better engineered.
Thats pretty easy sundown currently holds the world record. Plus that new sddn and that are always making improvements to all their other products not to mention the compact neos and the inhuman. And dd got all but hurt over the sddn thats not to say i dont like dd stuff i own a pair of 9512s there stuff is just over priced

For me I say DD is better because none of their products have failed on me. I’ve had probably half as much sundown audio gear as my DD stuff and have had 2 sundown amps fail, they’re trash.
