    I use the dd 1000.1 and 1000.4 in my side by side and they rock crystal clear sound. It's so loud and clear that it doesn't sound loud until you try to scream. Plus these amps are waterproof so it just doesn't get any better 👍😃

    We need a video that tests the most efficient sub amplifiers for everybody who can't upgrade their alternator. Also a video with diy ultra lightweight sub/box combos for performance cars that suffer when 200+lbs of subs/boxes hurt their driving performance.

    But I like that 12” DD enclosure for the Chrysler 300 also!! 🎉

    Where’s the box video?! I just measured and the trunk of the 300 is 15” high and 34” wide, but the DD box measures 15x24x15”!! That will literally fit perfectly behind the seat and still allow one side of the split rear seat to open all the way thru!! 🎉

    There are plenty of budget amps that will pump out 600 for less. I’d easily pay $230+tax if it gave me those results at 12.8v. Good Amplifiers are doing rated power at lower Voltages. They are a little pricey, but hey… buy once, cry once 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Do these small amps tend to run hotter & are they geared mostly for bikes ?

    • @blakebrockhaus347
      @blakebrockhaus347 3 месяца назад +3

      typically a mini amp would have poor thermals due to the lack of heatsink. We custom tooled a much larger heatsink and used more efficient parts resulting in better thermal management than many of our larger amps.

      Not trying to put the DD down by any means, I'm just saying...
      @@blakebrockhaus347
      Straight from DD Audio website for this product:
      "For the SS Series the main design focus was to pack as much full-range stereo output capability as possible into as compact of a chassis as possible. We utilized discrete circuit class D technology for ultra low distortion levels that rival class AB designs. The resulting amp is capable of driving multiple driver mid-range and tweeter arrays while consuming less current, taking up less space and delivering more power."
      So... It's a "full-range" monoblock that's "meant for mids and tweeters" when its frequency range goes upto 250hz...? Y'all might want to rethink that.
      Oh, and for reference, the Apocalypse ATOM-700.2 (which actually could power mids and tweeters if intended) is more powerful at only 2 inches wider and costs less, has a fan in it for active cooling rather than a passive heatsink that'll still get hot with nothing cooling it, and the Atom line-up has been on the market for years to draw inspiration from, so it's not like you've reinvented the wheel...

    If you're running stock electrical, you won't get those numbers. Back in the day, we would look at what voltage the manufacturer rated their rms power (usamps rated their amps at 12.5 volts) because you are basically only going to see 13.5 volts on stock electrical with 120 amps of auxiliary equipment, and really, i wouldn't go over a 100 amps on stock electrical

      In order to make an amplifier this small without thermal or reliability issues you need to use high end parts, which cost more. An early version was about half this size and cost and made basically the same power. but the thermals were total crap, it would overheat and run into issues very quickly.
