Interesting indeed - glad you got the noise levels down! Still super interested in these but also waiting until the still unreleased (I think?) Gen 2 Asustor 12-bay Flashstor Pro comes out as that might be even better...
I'm a bit puzzled. You review this as a NAS, but you use it as a DAS. Could you elaborate on if you purely use it as a DAS (with direct thunderbolt4 connection) or if you somehow also make use of it as a NAS, and if so how?
You have NAS Can your team edit video With Apple laptop desktop, windows laptop desktop? With I pad , with Linux desktop laptop, All with NAS support . With your favourite editing software. Is this a review or a commercial? How about making a chapter on who this really suits: 1) Laptop anyone who is still clinging to the denial that they actually use it outside of the desk-space and over paying for the triple tax that illusion incurred on available storage space, and; 2) People who have zero idea on “professional workflows” who try to pound a round peg through a square hole using a laptop…, and 3) Think that using “proper” proxies is too time consuming…; and 4) listens to people who milk every product seller for a plug on a dysfunctional workflow… I’m gonna have to stick around for a while. This is a classic case of a guy who is more interested in getting free stuff, and faking it BADLY on the knowledge side. “A little knowledge is more dangerous than none, or a lot” Oh boy….
@@TheTrinityProjectinc My “workstation video card” not only costs more than this dribble… I think it is more useful. This POC is only relevant for laptop users who are in denial about proper workflow. It is now clearly apparent why he was so hung up on the thunderbolt 4 problems on the ProArt motherboard… Because he is totally enveloped in a fantasy workflow that revolves around T4. It is EXACTLY what I thought it was on those videos, and this is just the proof. You can even see the MacBook in the background! Don’t preach “professional workflow” and show up with a MacBook and a blacked out gaming rig…. Then add an NVME T4 butchery…. It’s a joke. Can’t even identify real world metrics…. If you don’t know… Don’t teach….
Nice heat sink tip for the manufacturer! 🔥
I dig the new setup. Looks like a cool lab.
I think I need to get one of these too soon !! You could put a thin strip of Aluminum on to each SSD that would help remove heat too !
Yeah, true with a thermal pad. I left some in the description!

How well does tb4 work with windows laptops? I've heard there are a lot of problems.
Hello, Can I use it just with a Thunderbolt cable with my Mac Studio as a DAS to edit 6K footage without Ethernet functions?
