  • This is a video showing the build of the Lego Boutique Hotel Modular, my first Lego corner modular, with some Lego stop motion and my thoughts on this particular Lego Modular and placement in the Lego City.

Great Stopmotion work, would be nice to share how you plan the steps as you, as shown in the footage, anticipate multiple steps and parallel build (multiple bricks per frame) which i really enjoyed.
    Great job!

oh and btw, the Boutique hotel is the whole reason why I got into modulars, it's by far my favorite, funny how each person has different tastes when it comes to modular sets!

Thanks Joe, I’ll give that some thought. The parallel build I found very hard and I don’t know if I could do the same again! There was a lot of looking ahead in the instructions and counting of bricks to make sure each stage had the same number of steps, sometimes doing multiple steps on one build to equal a single step on the other so that the levels went up at the same rate.

Hi I’m just about to start building my first modular, Birch Books and the town house! I’ve also got Assembly Square to build then this was going to be my next modular purchase.

Sounds like we have the same taste! You won’t go wrong with any of those. I absolutely love the bookshop, perhaps just because it was my first modular and Assembly Square is just brilliant. The hotel is growing on me! I keep looking at it from across the room and I’m pleased I’ve added it. I hope you enjoy building them!

Its a nice set, but its definitely not a great set. I plan to make it a non-corner building.

Hi Barista !Did not build my BH yet, but you may put a road in front of your modulars but also separate this one with a 90 degrees crossroad, so that it is visible from all sides. The difference in style between this one (looks like Negresco Hotel in Nice IRL) and the others that are more classical buidings would be perhaps more appealing. just my 2 cents of course. Road roads roads you are right ! Thx for the review. Take care.

Loving your videos . What modulars have you got built now. Are you buying them directly from lego? I am going to start soon too .

Thank you so much! So far I have built the Bookshop, Assembly Square and the Boutique Hotel. I bought the hotel from John Lewis as they had 25% off but the other two came from Lego. Now just need to decide which one to build next?!

I just can’t commit to this modular either. The color scheme is not for me. Mixed feelings for the Santorum as well.

I wanted it and the overall design is good but the colours are a bit grim! Perhaps I could swap out the first and second floor colours in the future. I do want Sanctum Sanctorum in the city…
