Although I have watched my fair share of RUclips instructional videos, this is the first time I have ever written a review. Hands-down, this is the best instructional presentation I have seen on RUclips. No wasted time. No talking about himself. No unnecessary filler. No distant shots of what should be up close. Instead, the presenter jumps right into it and then clearly and professionally demonstrates the process. Wham, bam, here's what you need to know. Just awesome.
_Hey Yeah! And don't forget hit that like button, _*_smash_*_ that subscribe button and pound that notification bell and mail a notarized copy of your birth certificate and an IRS Form 5471 to report your controlling interest in a foreign corporation! In the meantime, just watch this three minute generic video intro that adds absolutely no content or context to anything you're here to see!!!_
I appreciated that this appeared to be more/less off the cuff and he spoke at a rate that didn't feel like wasting my time. Most instructional vids on YT get played at 1.25x, 1.5x, sometimes even higher....
This helped so much! Thank you. I managed to install this setup with my mobile phone as a second camera for my son's piano lessons which are now mandatory remote due to Covid-19. Now the teacher has one view of his hands and a full view of him at the same time.
@@rachelstone3079 I don't have an iPhone or Mac (I don't do such mistakes :)). I have an Android phone and use an app called DroidCam. You download the app on the phone and a program in your PC. This connects both devices via USB or wireless and it essentially creates a second webcam on your PC (second device) which you can switch from and to in zoom. There should be similar apps for iPhone I guess though.
I've been looking for an easier way to switch between cameras. My initial thought was to buy a USB switcher, but that would only solve switching between two external cameras, and not my internal cam. Thanks for the tip!
Hi there, thanks for your video introducing the duo cam function. However, I wonder if it’s possible to put up two cams sharing a similar space on the same screen, say half and half?
you could do that by spotlighting the two cameras for everyone -- this will give only those two views when a viewer sets their view to "Speaker View" I use this all the time for small group discussion inside larger meetings.
Hi, thanks for the tutorial. I use my main camera with the hdmi capture. For the other cameras, I use iphones and have them join the meeting. Now I can switch between cameras by pinning which is an extra step. But the extra step is better than having the switch dip to black every time you switch cameras. So if you are doing an interview with numerous iphones or people, the cuts are clean. Just a thought.
Hi-thanks so much for this! Two questions: Will the audio feed only come in via the main camera (the webcam in your video) so that there is no funky echo/feedback? Also, is it possible to use a mobile phone as the other camera?
Just want to thank you very much for this video! I was diving into Zoom help and got "lost" in zoom rooms. But Lucily I found your video, that made it a breeze to understand. One thing I needed som replays to get, was the "switch camera" button, wich I would suggest could be highlighted, since the area and mouse pointer are so small. But 4 times repeat and I noticed :-) . So thank you, and thank you again. You made my day, I will follow you! Best of luck to you!
Thanks for the easy explanation! This really works well! In my case, although I do already have the Elgato 4K CamLink, I don't need it because I'm using the free Canon Webcam Utility Beta app and my Canon 90D DSLR camera (or my Canon M50 camera) as my primary camera and the Logitech 4K BRIO webcam as the second camera. Yes the share screen and switch camera button in Zoom works well. In my case, I have multiple other cameras in my Zoom menu, so when I press the switch camera button, the Zoom app toggles through several different camera choices in the menu, so that's not practical for me to use that switch camera button because it cycles through camera choices that I don't want. So for me, I just click on the arrow manually to switch back and forth for the 2 camera views that I do want.
Thankyou3403 How do you disable the laptop camera built in? I’m using Mac book pro... I have three cameras but I only want to use the two better cameras and not the one on the laptop
I want to do two cameras at the same time. This is for teaching piano. I want the zoom screen split horizontally because a piano keyboard is long and narrow. And the other screen with my face in it to make the human contact while talking. I've seen it done by others on zoom, so I know it's possible, but I don't know how.
hey thank you for the video, how do i change which camera is my shared camera? i was attempting to use OBS but it's too complicated, i just want to share my webcam on my mac and my external webcam
Thanks for this! I love that you got right to the point. I need to set up a ZOOM meeting with my boss where I'm demonstrating something on a table in front of me, and this is exactly the information I needed!
Is it possible to have two cameras active at the same time? I'm trying to figure out if I can do a set up for piano lessons, with one camera overhead to show the hands, and a wide shot that captures the player in more or less a profile view, such that you can see the whole person, head, hands and feet.
I've had the same question, Allan. I see that that only one camera at a time can be used per person signed in. So in order to have a split screen, with both cameras showing at the same time, you'd have to sign in as a new participant on the other camera, for instance on your phone as a new participant, and then you will be seen in 'Gallery View' side by side, or on top of each other, depending on how wide your screen is. Both of them are you, but coming in from different log-ins at the same time. Hope that helps!
Also, I just found this guy who shows an easy way to share multiple windows (though not with multiple cameras): ruclips.net/video/UEABW3ddZkc/видео.html
Hi, what camera did you us above you and did you just hang it from a hook or something? Looking to give some kids some directions to play a game, so need to know those details. Great video! Thank you so much!
Huge thank you for making this! Whiteboard interviews are so difficult when going from conversation to time at a whiteboard, back to conversation, and setting up a cam on a whiteboard then using the MacBook and having the same audio line (headset, lav, whatever) makes this totally seamless. Life saver!
Fantastic! I am expanding my knitting lessons to include Zoom lessons. This will allow me to situate a second camera to teach different stitches and techniques. Thank you!
This is awesome! I looked everywhere on the zoom website and this simple trick did not exist - Can you use the same thing for 3 cameras? Or 4? is there a limit?
Great feature. As was also mentioned by someone else in these comments, if you have multiple platforms used (like OBS, mmhmm etc...), they all show up as cameras in the pull down/if you cycle through, which isn't ideal if you're going to be in a live presentation. This is something I hope to see addressed by Zoom at some point. But it's a nice feature. Cheers.
really good video. I have a few questions... 1. Can I disable a camera ? I can see my computer camera which I do not want to use 2. can I use 2 webcam cameras ? or even 3? 3. can I also add an iphone?
Hi, Thanks for letting the community know that we could use 2 DSLR cameras for high quality video presentation. May I ask, how about I still want to share my powerpoint presentation, will this work as well?
Very helpful thank you - one more question! Is there a gadget that would allow me to switch between the computer and the iphone camera without touching the keyboard? I am teaching movement classes and cannot go back and forth to the computer ! Also, would this work using an iPad and iPhone as well as laptop and iPhone?
Hello, absolutely great, clear, excellent presentation, thank you! Is it possible to do this same thing but using my iPhone 6S as the second camera with Zoom?
Good information. What's your audio setup though? It sounds like you're using a good-quality external mic, but the says you're using PC audio. I can see how this setup might not work the best for switching between two cameras with talking head shots, since the audio from the on-board mic will be noticeably out of sync with the second camera's video. The whole HDMI lag issue makes audio sync a big problem.
Awesome tutorial. Just wondering if you have a tutorial on how to use a capture card. I have a Fujifilm X-M1 mirrorless and I think it has a mini HDMI port. Can it double-up as a 2nd webcam? Thanks!
thank you for the video! can you tell me what happens with the recording of the meeting? does it capture all cameras or only one of them? is it a seperate video recording for each camera? and also- is there a way for the participant to choose on which camera to look into or is it only under the host control? thanks again
Thank you. Our HS Tutoring program will like this a great deal. I already do a live streaming event weekly; so I have all the equipment I need for this. Nice and Easy.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I do online tarot card readings for people and this is super helpful for people to see me and the cards. Sending you love, light and good karma!
Great Video. Question: I want to make the 2nd camera my iphone, but that doesn't seem work here. I have used the link with cable and AirPlay but it shows me that info on the top and bottom.
A quick question. I am a guitar teacher and I need to work with 3 cameras. So on my face one, on my left hand one and on my right hand. So if I connect 2 web cameras would gonna work? And especially for zoom. Meaning would I see the 3 cameras (As we have it in 2:21 Min on the video) and switch between them easily? Thanks.
Hi. My screen doesn't show the 'switch camera' button. Maybe that is a paid feature? Anyhow you can also change cameras through keyboard custom shortcuts, but it cycles through all the cameras you have connected - in my case 4. Do you know if I can remove my iglasses and webcam, so I only have 2 DSLR's showing? Thanks for the video and help.
I also just noticed that as well. So this isn't all that awesome if you have multiple cameras set up. Quick q?: I was also thinking of the custom shortcuts (1st thing in fact). Where did you set it? I couldn't see it @ the Zoom app level. Did you dive all the way down in the system prefs?
OK, good point. But is this possible to have 2 cam when you are simple participant ??? without sharing your screen (which make your 2st cam in full screen for others participants..), juste to have 2 cam the same size than the others participants. Thanks !
thanks for a great to-the-point video. I'm not seeing the same options available to me, although I can easily switch between both of my usb cams, I can't stream both of them into the meeting. I was wondering if that may be because I am only using the free version of Zoom?
Thank you for that. I cannot cut from one camera to another as I am not seated as teaching Taichi and constantly moving about. Is there any remote switch that one can wear/use while moving to allow to cut from my front view camera to my back view camera? I am not seated and I need a camera in front and a camera behind me? If possible can you list the equipment requirement please. Thanking you in advance.
You have a new subscriber!!! thanks, exactly what I was looking for 😀. Just 1 question, can I use 2 webcams, or has to be 1 webcam and another type of camera?
Is there a way to set things up so that both cameras are showing in the call (zoom or some other software) and the other person in the meeting can pick which camera to maximize/minimize at each point? I would like to do a multi-camera stream of some tabletop wargaming, and it would be helpful if the person watching can pick which of the various cameras i have setup they want to focus on (as i will be stood up, moving stuff around on screen, rather than be sat at the computer all the time).
thank you for making this video! i tried this out today during my virtual class. i am using an external webcam as my 2nd camera, my MacBook pro is the latest version. i noticed whenever I share screen, my MacBook starts to heat up, making loud noises. My activity monitor showed that zoom at that point of time is using more 85% of the CPU capacity. Is there a way to solve this issue? this happens when I try to share screen on a presentation file as well. And the laptop get back to normal when I switch back to single screen. thank you in advance.
Great vid! I'm going to try in a conference room tomorrow. The question I have is will this work if all the gadgets are hooked up to a Crestron and feed into the PC, not directly connected like you have here.
Is there a way to use 2 cameras side by side the same size at the same time? Can I record both of the cameras individually and simultaneously? Thank you.
Thank you that is helpful. I have been using two computers and so this simplifies life. Do you know if there is a way to smoothly go between screen share and "dual camera mode"? In my solo test, I found that I can set up the dual camera, thanks to you, and screen share at the same time. However, when I go out of screen share, it also goes back to just one camera. For context, I am a math tutor. I find that I am consistently going back and forth between my second camera as the large screen camera and the screen share. I understand there may be technical limitations and so I just thought I'd ask. My previous workaround has been to have two computers and just log into zoom twice. Sometimes this is giving electronic feedback. So if you don't know how to do the first thing I asked, then a workaround for the other problem would be my second request. No matter what, thanks for putting up good content!
Is 2 Cameras the limit for Multicams in Zoom itself? Could you have multiple Elgatos? Is there shortcut keys to witch cameras while just in fullscreen not sharing?
This was THE most helpful video of all - thank you. A quick question - when you are in Zoom, does anybody really care that you need to switch to share your screen and change cameras for three seconds or is this normal for anyone who shares their screen. I want to use Zoom for art demos and as an artist I am not, like so many others, working with Zoom constantly. I do a lot with it, but switching to my webcam will be new - and so much better than using my IPhone. Any options about this or does not one really care as long as they get the content?
How many camera can you hook to one laptop? Could I hook 3 usb webcams through a powered usb hub if I need 3 views, presenter, audience and closeup/overhead view? Just was curious if that’s possible?
Thank you so much for this. I'm new to Zoom and this has helped me more than you could ever believe. Really well presented in a concise and direct way. Big thanks to you.
I really appreciate people such as yourself that do these videos to help us novices. But as a senior citizen ....it always seems like there’s a race to talk just as fast as possible. It becomes hard especially if you miss a word or phrase .....zoom your way on down road in your presentation. If you just slowed down a little and then made sure on your key points that people understood. It becomes having to play the video over and over ...to try and catch exactly what you said ....spending 20 minutes on something that if you just slowed down & added 5 extra minutes to the video it would be easier to understand. Just some positive feedback on an informative video. Thank you
HI, great vid, thx! I have a question about the multicam - if I am NOT the zoom master (only one of the participants), can I still do this set-up for switching back and forth?
Great video, thanks. I have 2 USB webcams, and both seem to work fine. However, when I share my second camera view (using either of the webcams) I'm getting a blank screen - either green or orange. I've looked in the video settings, but can't find anything that seems relevant. Any suggestions please?
How do you actually trigger the switch to the other screen? Is it discrete with a key or do you have to drag the mouse to another page and click on an icon?

Does it work the same way with three cameras?
Hi, very interesting! Is there a way to view both cameras during a meeting? Thanks!
Is there a way to combine the views together from two different angles? Like for a gym court.

Short, simple, accurate. Perfect.
Thank you for all your advice! I will give it a go. Your video was very concise and helpful.
What if you want both cameras at once (one on teacher one on in-person students) and want to share your screen for slides? Need two computers?
Is it possible to offer a multi camera view in one screen? Say two or three cameras on one screen, simultaneously?
Yes, if you do gallery view. 😉

Is there a way to use 2 cameras side by side the same size at the same time? Can I record both of the cameras individually and simultaneously? Thank you.
Thank you for this. Can this work on Ipad?
You can also under (zoom) settings, cam switch under keyboard shortcut Alt N
Brilliant simple and straight-forward
I writing from Brazil, but I thank you a lot for your explanation. It helped me much. B/R
Any tips on overcoming leggy view on the shared screen on the viewers end?
This was THE most helpful video of all - thank you. A quick question - when you are in Zoom, does anybody really care that you need to switch to share your screen and change cameras for three seconds or is this normal for anyone who shares their screen. I want to use Zoom for art demos and as an artist I am not, like so many others, working with Zoom constantly. I do a lot with it, but switching to my webcam will be new - and so much better than using my IPhone. Any options about this or does not one really care as long as they get the content?
got this, do u know how to rename the multi cameras? thanks man
How many camera can you hook to one laptop? Could I hook 3 usb webcams through a powered usb hub if I need 3 views, presenter, audience and closeup/overhead view? Just was curious if that’s possible?
Thank you so much! That screen share camera view is just what I needed!!!
Thank you so much for this. I'm new to Zoom and this has helped me more than you could ever believe. Really well presented in a concise and direct way. Big thanks to you.
Can you use iPhone or iPad as a camera also? For me best would be using iPhone as a head camera (from above) and iPad for Face
Thank you
In RUclips settings (the gear symbol), you can choose to play the video slower or faster, which should address your concerns. Good luck!
Thanks for the excellent video! I didn't know it was so easy and built into Zoom :)
Very useful tutorial. Thanks for sharing.
Nice! Can you use an iPhone as the second camera?
Great work. Please tell me can I use my smart phoned camera.
How do you actually trigger the switch to the other screen? Is it discrete with a key or do you have to drag the mouse to another page and click on an icon?
Thank you for this easy to understand tutorial. Can I use the same instructions for WebEx meetings?
This was really helpful info. Thank you!
So rad thanks, going to use this for my wedding coming up next month.
