I loved days like this because I could use my fool proof system for backwash, when I was body surfing the Wedge I could see the backwash coming and I would stop by straightening my legs and move them towards my head making a V between my upper body and my legs, it acted like an anchor and kept me glued to the wave. Once the backwash hit the lip, I would then go back to the normal bodysurfing position and continue down the wave. Now this only work if you are down the face a little and not near the lip, but also while I was about to takeoff I could tell if the backwash was too close and I would back off and not take the wave.
dude its unreal how they have just normalized such a Knariy place. We watched so much blood and broken bones there 40 years ago. Even seen deaths. (walked up on them after the fact thank god) Cant unsee that.

@@seatechfoto I play with a Salty surf housing for my compact Olympus camera. Salty is doing well with housings for bigl RED video cams that I don't want to imagine handling in the surf. Doing quality water footage and stills strikes me as under-appreciated. I've had fun visiting the Wedge with my cam onshore with a light, handheld 300 mm prime lens, great optics, amazing image stabilization. Water's a different world.

When I go beach combing and picking up trash, I also pick up the famous local clam shells which I carve into hearts and wave forms. I'd be stoked/psyched to send you a clam shell wave necklace for your beach clean up services. Is there an easy way to do that? RUclips and VitalMTB are the extent of my social media.
