Have you tried it yet? You totally should, it doesn't hurt to try. I'm not patient and I don't like super tedious things but I lover embroidery. It's a good break for busy minds.
I was shook when you used all 6 strands, that is probably a bit more difficult to pull through the fabric and the needle. Most use 2 or 3 strands of the thread.
It all depends on what project you're working on, but for most 2-3 strands is preferable yes. However with a woven wheel 6 strands makes the build up much faster.
With 2-3 threads you spend more time filling the areas (such a tedious work ) and also it looks more neatly than with 6 threads (i think it looks a bit rough)
I can never get it to pull through the thread when I use more than 2-3 strands, I'm afraid I'm going to tear the cloth when I am pulling it through :( Maybe I need a bigger needle??
@@chawntelh well not everyone is gonna know the perfect way to do something when they start it, you can't expect someone to know how to perfectly flat wash a background with watercolor if they've only done a few paintings lol
@@chloewalker214 We aren't talking about something difficult like THAT! This is basic common sense! As you are "pushing" the thread thru the eye of the needle, her brain should have kicked in and realized that there was AN EASIER WAY...🤦🏻♀️ I don't care what you say, I'm so sick of people defending people that do shit like this! People are getting dumber and lazy! There is NO excuse!
Aww, this makes me want to get out my embroidery supplies. Highly recommend the book "Doodle Stitching" or any other titles by Aimee Ray. Tons of cute patterns and stitches as well as how to turn your personal doodle style into embroidery.
There's a better way to use the threader tool! Pop it through your needle first then put the thread through the tool. Pull the tool back through the needle and it will pull your thread through with it without separating the strands of the thread. :D
I always sketch my design on paper with a pencil first, then go over it will a strong black pen. That way I have created my own pattern! So I can use it multiple times without having to try and recreate a sketch
Just a little tip from someone who's been sewing/embroidering for years: if you put the threader through the eye of the needle first and then put the thread through it, it's easier than putting the thread through the threader before you put it through the needle
to make a knot at the end of your thread you can wrap the long part of said thread around your needle a few times and pull the needle through the coil of thread you looped on there
Poke the threader through the needle hole, then put the string though the needle threader and pull it back through 😊. Your work is so beautiful! I just started embroidery today but my mom thought me how to use a needle threader.
Hi Paloma! I would recommend a water erasable marker, so that you can still see your design without having to use a pen, it is very efficient and can be simply wiped away once you're done. I really loved the way you did this piece, it inspired me to continue embroidering. :)
This was really helpful in helping me think about how to design my own embroidery patterns! I’m awful at drawing, but the little doodle-y flowers and leaves are so charming and don’t seem too hard, and I could probably manage to copy (or, lbr, trace) a reference pic like you did here. The music you picked is also so soothing! I’m glad this popped up on my feed☺️
AHHH this is so cute. 🐝 I loved the change at the end and the little rust flowers. This makes me want to break out the kit that has been in my craft cupboard and do something fun. 🌈
All your videos are really well done. An amazing editing, the best music for the moment, a voice over (I am not sure if that's the way you write it), that is relaxing and you also explain it in an excellent way.
I just tried embroidery today and i love it it’s such a cute and unique hobby! this is perfect and even if i’m a beginner i will definitely try this! ❤️
I recently bought embroidery supplies but haven’t been able to start bc of school! but now my school year is over and you post this at the perfect time! this whole idea was so easy to understand and very calming. idk the last time I sat through a whole yet video without fast forwarding until now lol, but I enjoyed the entire video! your work turned out amazing!
What if you tried to paint the background white or pastel pink to make it look like it’s on a flower to cover that pen smudge ☺️ just a thought 💕 lol I’m a Virgo so that smudge would NEED to be covered for me 😅
Rita Sharp’s advice re: using the needle threader tool is correct, whether for the flexible wire-type like you have or the types that are a circular piece of aluminum with a small hole at each end used in tapestry, needlepoint, or bargello stitching. Push the wire (or hole) through the eye of the needle so that the wire opens up enough to slide your thread into the wire. Then pull the wire back out of the needle’s eye, which pulls the thread through the eye.
Have you ever tried the frixion markers for your patterns? They are heat and friction sensitive. This means that they stay until exposed to extreme heat, like from the sun or a hairdryer
For threading the needles, it's easier to put the needle on the threader first, pull the thread threw the metal hoop thing, and then pull the needle off, and its done
if you want to take the ink marks off, take the embroidery out of the hoop and put it in the washing machine in a gentle circle. It will clean it and you can still put it back on the hoop later
omg yes paloma! another video! I’m absolutely living for the consistency! how do you do it? because I’m struggling atm to post videos twice a week (my computer just keeps crashing :(
One thing I'm impressed with is your choice of music. Very nice and fitting to relax by while doing this relaxing hobby. I am addicted to embroidery.!!! So many times, I stop watching videos because of the annoying, loud, obnoxious music. You've inspired me on how to use all of the aida cloth from my cross stitch years...which I no longer do.
I also need the needle threader but I first put the threader through the needle's hole and then I put the thread through the threader and then pull it out :p seems to be a little easier than your method :) you're very talented and I admire your work a lot!
Invest in frixtion or erasable pens they will come off when ironed and then you can have a clean background even if you decide to change the design halfway
I'd suggest you try out evenweave fabric instead of aida for hand embroidery. It's a lot less stiff and the threadcount is higher than aida, so you can do much smaller stitches and can make it up into cushions, etc. I tend to only use aida for cross-stitch that I intend to frame.
You are the first person I've found who specifically says Aida fabric for embroidery and I bought it not knowing and I thought I was only going to be able to do cross stitch
Lovely bee! There is a similar pen from Michaels, but instead of the ink going away after a few hours, it stays on the fabric until you soak it so you can mess up without it being permanent.
I use graphite paper to transfer a picture to my fabric. It's similar to carbon paper, but it doesn't smudge the way carbon paper does. It can be found in hobby and craft stores and, I would imagine, also in art supply stores. It can be erased with effort, and by using a kneaded eraser, rather than a "regular" eraser.
I really like that you just do what you like and you don't necessarily follow all of the embroidery "rules". It goes to show that you can really just do it how you want and wing it and it will still turn out lovely. I have stressed myself out over doing things "right" and it has taken the fun and relaxation out of learning embroidery at times. As long as you are enjoying yourself, who cares!
I’m sure someone else already said this but you’re supposed to put the threader through the needle then the thread in the threader then you pull it through the needle
Wonderful project! The bee design is so charming. When transferring designs on to fabric you might find the 'prick and pounce' embroidery transfer method helpful. We have a few videos about this on our channel if you are interested.
what i learnt from my grandmother who was a seamstress is that you should put the needle into the needle threader first then only you insert your thread
You are using the needle threader wrong. You should put it through the eye of the needle empty, run the thread through it and then pull back through the eye. It would make it easier to use.
Im a little confused on threading the needle, do I not tie it off anywhere so that way my thread doesn't slip back out of the eye? Is it just hanging, or am I supposed to knot it somewhere?
split the thread so instead of 6 strands, you use 2 or 3 strands of thread. Also I thread my needle by getting half the amount of thread and pull it through the hole of the needle so both ends meet. then I tie the knot w/ both ends. I'm late but hope it was helpful
The needle threader goes through the eye of the needle, then you put the thread through the threader opening. Once you do that you pull the threader back through the eye of the needle and the needle should be threaded 🪡 👌🏾. I hope this helps in the future. I’m not the best at explaining lmaoo
this is a stupid question, but when u thread the needle, do u only tie a knot on the end part? how about the part that was in the needle? wont it fall off when i stitch??
I loved the video!! I wondering tho, your footage seems a little foggy :( Maybe you puted your finger in the lenses, idk, i hope im not being rude, its just a heads up
Re: threading your needle. Push your needle threader through the needle first, then push the thread through the threader, then pull the threader back out to pull the thread through.
If you put the needle threader through the needle, insert the thread into the threader, and then pull the threader through. Itsll pull the thread through so much easier.

I didnt think I would either but it rlly doesnt get boring or anything and it seems like it goes by pretty quick, you should try it out
if you have the patience to watch people do it you probably also have the patience to do it yourself
You can finish a project in a couple of hours. That's what I love about embroidery.
Have you tried it yet? You totally should, it doesn't hurt to try. I'm not patient and I don't like super tedious things but I lover embroidery. It's a good break for busy minds.
It’s so calming I just started last night. You never know until you try😁

With 2-3 threads you spend more time filling the areas (such a tedious work ) and also it looks more neatly than with 6 threads (i think it looks a bit rough)
i think using 6 strands is the proper way but most people split it in half to save thread. im not sure though
I can never get it to pull through the thread when I use more than 2-3 strands, I'm afraid I'm going to tear the cloth when I am pulling it through :( Maybe I need a bigger needle??
@@AlllegroPresto maybe you need a more pointy one!
You can get Frixion pens instead of a standard pen. You just use an iron or blow dryer to blast the pen marks away.
they can sometimes fade back if you live in a cold climate, be careful if you aren’t doing a full coverage project as the lines may show through!
Push the wire through the needle first then put thread through the wire and pull through
That’s the correct way💯
I was coming to comment to say the exact same thing. Lol

It's said "i" "e" "da" lol. Aida is used for cross stitch. For embroidery you should use an evenweave fabric such as linen.
Jennaiii although a lot of crosstitchers use linen instead of aida...i used some black linen recently...and here it is said ayda
