"Bus Stop" is a song written by English singer, songwriter and musician Graham Keith Gouldman and performed by British Band The Hollies in 1966. "Bus stop, wet day, she's there, I say please share my umbrella..." Graham Nash is a founding member and joined the band "The Holies" since September 1962 until December 1968. Graham Nash left the group in 1968 to form the supergroup Crosby, Stills & Nash, CSNY (with Neil Young), and solo career. This acoustic version of the song is amazing and has the collaboration of Shane Fontayne (born Michael Barakan), English rock guitarist, session musician, audio engineer, and collaborated as a guitarist and producer in 2016 Nash album "This Path Tonight". Memory is living. Worth.
007scallywag ~ Graham Nash WAS The Hollies. He was a founding member in 1962. He left in 1968 to form another band that you may have heard of: Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
Yes, @@TheGalwayFarmer that was a real surprise. Discovered that fact this evening as I listened to Graham Gouldman perform Bus Stop on acoustic guitar.
Thank you, Roger for your kind words! We agree, Shane is a great musician. He has his own RUclips channel: ruclips.net/channel/UCh3g5dPwqB1ycBuWrgtCpPA?view_as=subscriber. Had the pleasure of watching Graham and Shayne play this in Halifax this week. It was a brilliant night. Also, Grahams book related the story of how he and Allan Clarke went to a young Graham Gouldmans house to listen to this and “Look through any window” that the young man had written. They snapped them up but missed out on “ No milk today”. That was promised to Peter Noone 👍🏻

Graham tells the story about going to see a young songwriter to humour the songwriter's mother and he plays this, Look though any window and No milk today. not sure if the story matches the history but it is a great story. BTW they wanted No Milk today but Gouldman had always promised that to Peter Noone.
The guy only wanted to know how green was the "grass" in the other side of the puddle... otherwise he would never have returned to The Hollies as he did afterwards... when his carer with CSNY was finita because the excesses.
Great story HOW the Hollies came across this song.... Their manager pestered them to visit his Neighbour. who wanted the Hollies to hear their 15 year old sons songs... That turned out to be Graham Gouldman..who became a founder member of the band , 10 cc .
Same song, sung acoustically by Graham Gould - the guy who wrote ''Bus Stop'' and MANY others. Outstanding version. ruclips.net/video/86GtSP6XBeU/видео.html
They're playing in the key of A minor. Graham plays the open Am chord because he doesn't have a capo. Capo on the fifth fret with an Em shape is Am in a different voicing, which is what Shane plays.
Come on. I broke out laughing. You may prefer them but 1000 times? I’m a huge fan of Stills. He was the real deal in that group. Southern Cross is a wicked tune.
@@ollielindsay§ The Hollies were fantastic so were CSN common denominator Graham , I may be bias as he is my cousin but there are millions that would agree
Femai Ben Rigiel a song performed over 50 years ago and you insult the man who is still singing it and has done a damn good job? WOW,you are a real downer aren't you.
WinterCity Knight. Not really. I think he did well. His legacy will be respected and no I am not a downer you said? I am only expresing my opinion... I adored his voice even though when some jerks stated that he only was a sort of "stuffed" voice when he was with The Hollies and even when he was with CSNY. Times goes by and this is not the beutiful voice he had once. Greetings.
one of the greatest songs of all time
Chilling and haunting…. Beautiful song and rendition of this!!! Graham Nash is SO AWESOME!!!!! (And the other gentleman as well)🤠👌👍❤️
I have loved this song since 1966❤️Great job, Graham❤️🎤🇬🇧🎸😱

I love this song, so nice to hear this acoustically.
This is a great song never really given its due. The original version by the Hollies was outstanding.
The Hollies were a great band, very underrated.
actually written by Graham Gouldman of 10CC fame

Shane Fontayne really should be credited in this clip. Great player.

Yes Shane Fontaine sings so in harmony with Graham Nash.
Love this !
Loved the Hollies..
Graham Gouldman... amazing song and performance
This is my song Bus Stop I've been at the Bus Stop so many times.
From the very same Louisville, I love this! It’s on my set list!
I feel very relax when ever I listen in this song . simple lyrics, good sound .
Graham Nash sure has aged well and still has an incredible voice! Thank you for posting.
Nash sounds great.

Sorry couldn’t get any photos, but a great night was had by all 👏🏻
Happy Birthday, Graham!
Absolutely Wonderful
Always happy.😊
Brilliant!!
So impressive and nostalgic.
Lovely song. Beautiful sweet and romantic.
I saw Graham Nash and David Crosby when they were touring a few year ago. Dean Parks was playing guitar with them. Still great after all these years.
Love this !!! ❤️❤️ 3:31
Killer tune
Magnifique
Graham Gouldman and his father were simply song-writing giants.
I didn’t even know who the guy was. Just read his Wikipedia page and yeah, he wrote a lot of hits.
2022 na veia
for all this years still good looking
最高です。
My Nash is still Kicken it! Love him so much growing up!!!

Muito boa música. Até hoje é executada no Brasil.
❤❤❤❤
Shane is a perfect accomplishment for Graham. Kiddos!
Graham and Joni which was soon popularized by Crosby Stills & Nash.
You guys Rawk!. Still!.
Muito bom. Excelente.
Yes legend !!!
❤☂️
Hated when Graham’s left the Hollies but when he ended up in CSN all was forgiven- just brill.
Good version but give a nod to Allan Clarke the lead vocal on the record.
You are right. Song is not the same without Allan Clarke's voice. He was the original lead vocalist on this and many other Hollies hits.
Legend
Great , I understand but wish he would have stayed with the Hollies. That was a sad time.
I think he got a lot more artistic fulfillment in CSN (and sometimes Y).
The guy only wanted to know how green was the "grass" in the other side of the puddle... otherwise he would never have returned to The Hollies as he did afterwards... when his carer with CSNY was finita because the excesses.
Song starts in earnest 0:13.
♥
Hello I think the other guitarist and singing was in the Hollies too .
Cooooooooooooooooool

Graham Goldman was likely 19 when he wrote this song. Graham Nash has told the story that he was 15, but this is very inaccurate.

Shane Fontayne !
If bus stop is in key of Amin with a capo at 5 what key is it. Eminor?
They're playing in the key of A minor. Graham plays the open Am chord because he doesn't have a capo. Capo on the fifth fret with an Em shape is Am in a different voicing, which is what Shane plays.
Still class...
Wonderful! ? Tommy Emmanuel's brother with Graham Nash. . . .?
I thought he looked like tommy.
@@jmack619 It's actually Shane Fontayne - great player from USA
@@RJ4960 thank you Roger. from canada

My mother and father in law were friends of his.
If you study the lyrics it's more about the umbrella than the bus stop!
I would not make a man as fine as Graham Nash wait until August. After a week at the most, I would ask him if he could warm my lips for me.
Hollies more number ones then any other band ever
The Hollies were 1000 times better than CSN
Come on. I broke out laughing. You may prefer them but 1000 times? I’m a huge fan of Stills. He was the real deal in that group. Southern Cross is a wicked tune.

nice
Nice teeth, Gram
He has grown old and his voice too. He used to have a beutiful voice... Once. Years seem not spare you Nash. All the same good try.

What's all this umbrella stuff? Antifa?
England is always in rain
English, and boring.
Is it just me...but I close my eyes...I can hear the 21 year old voice singing just as I remember in the back in 1966
