- Hey everyone. :) I'm really sorry I haven't been uploading videos this past half year or so. Big changes in my life have made it hard to have enough time for the whole youtube situation. There has been a lot of things i've wanted to share with you all, gardening with the bolens's is definitely one of them. I hope you are all doing good, and hopefully I will be able to put out videos more often. I miss you all, and appreciate all the kind comments i've gotten on my last few posts. It really helps. :)

Thanks man! Yeah, I can still watch them all, so its kinda cheating on my end. haha. But hopefully I will have the time to reply more to comments, and i can make them public again soon. I may let a few back into the mainstream. Some of them are actually helpful for people. Like working on three wheelers and such.

I m happy to see your back you actually made me want to get my own bolens I have 2 now and plan on getting more me and my buddys have a killing playing in the mud

Thanks! Yeah, we aren't being super diligent with any of it. So weeding is very sporadic, and watering is mostly based off of when it wants to rain. :) But it still pretty fun. Its our first year really trying any of it.

Thanks! Yeah it was really great putting the old beasts to work. Especially because my grandmother and grandfather had this place built, and took out a mortgage in 1968 for a Bolens to start a garden here. And gardened every year :) till my grandfather died in the 90's

I finally learned how to work on small engines. Just fixed 3 free push mowers and a echo trimmer for use or sale
Awesome! Probably feels pretty satisfying to be able to do that now. Figuring out how to do new things is kinda my favorite.

It is great to see a video from you and I hope you life is looking good for you. It is great that you used the Bolens for plowing and tiller work, we hope to do the same soon. The dixon looks cool and it would be great to see that and the bolens in action on the garden. Take care
Hey! Thanks man! Do you have any garden attachments for the ride-amatics? The 62 600 is awesome with the plow. plenty of power, but the front end is a little light haha. :) Still just so great to be using them. For almost 20 years all i really used them for was for off road action. Yeah, the Dixon is a really weird awesome little beast. Its funky.
@@tommartyn We have a great collection of ride-a-matic attachments although most of them need some love lol. We have a plow, tiller, two different front mounted mowers and front blade

Thanks! Yeah, it's been pretty dry here. Last year we did a really small garden, and didn't start till just a few weeks ago.

Thank you sir. :) Not as back as I should be. Hopefully I can work on that. I'd really like to post videos more often. It sucks... When I joined RUclips in 2006, I was one of like 3 people who actually had good video quality of doing the kinda of things we do. Now I only have my phone for a camera, and the quality is basically shit compared to what everyone else does. I need to get another basic Sony handycam to make it decent. Hope all is well man. :)

Yeah man! Really hoping to. Haven't started any plants yet which is t great. And the ground is super muddy. But trying to get the bolens all ready to do their jobs :)

ah thanks, Glad its not Just me. I keep driving around and seeing awesome tall healthy corn everywhere and was starting to feel like a failure.

@@tommartyn hey Tom. Just remembered an old video where you used a car battery to power a drill. How did you make that work and could it be done with other power tools?
Hey man :) yeah I did it with a few different drills, and one little cordless saw. The saw and most of the drills were 18v, so they were slower and less powerful then if they had their battery, but it worked pretty awesome, and was a fun project, people got a kick out of seeing them
@@tommartyn I was going to try hooking 2 batteries in series to get 24v. That otta give it a kick. I'm trying a weed eater first

Thanks man! Yeah, at some point for sure they will come back. I'm glad that the comments are still there! When i made them private, ALL the comments dissapeared from them. But when i made those few public again, All the comments came back, so that makes me feel better.

Ahh the weed garden. That would be awesome. I wish it was legal to grow it, because i'm not a huge fan of smoking it, makes my anxiety way worse, but it is a really cool looking and smelling plant. and it grows really easy. Maybe growing it will be legal soon.

Thanks! Yeah, I had some family issues and didn't have the time to donate to youtube, so I made all my videos private till I can donate enough time. If you watch my last video, Snow Talk i think its called i kinda explained it in that.

Most of my stuff didn't get past sprout when I tried it a few years back.. it sprouted and started, but promptly died off. I was super bummed

haha, definitely. Christine is pretty great at making delicious food with good ingredients, so the garden fits well. :)

Thanks man! Yeah, that thing is a ton of fun! Not great in the water. Always starts back up after a minute or two, but definitely doesn't like the deep stuff. I miss the water fording abilities of the trikes.
Oh yeah, i forgot to mention its my buddy Adams TW. But it lives here, so its used by everyone. My girlfriend really likes it because she's used to big bikes, With working brakes and all. Her road bike is a sportster 1200.
@@tommartyn I used to run bigger bikes, but unlike my KLR650, if this gets stuck, I don’t need help. ;-) it’s super slow though….
@@tommartyn I haven’t been in any really deep water with it yet, so I haven’t run into that. It doesn’t seem to long mud, or huge rocks. It’s got pretty good gearing for crawling.
@@JimsEquipmentShed For sure, I think Mikey the previous owner might have changed the gearing a little for the road. its still pretty nice for creeping around though. As per field usual, the idle is super nice and low. :) Can't stand high idles.

Yeah man! I was definitely putting them to the test with turning the soil and rototilling. I had a 1050 with a deck but something failed in the right angle gearbox. Probably a roll pin. So gotta fix or replace the gearbox.
Bolens are not made to romp ? )

Oh hey man. I made the private because there was too much stuff going on in my life, and i didn't have time or energy to reply to comments well enough. If you watch the second to newest video it kinda explains it. Its called snow talk or something close.
