I know you guys in usa call it miata over here in Ireland is mx5 but anyway iv seen many in person and many in youtube videos but man this is by far the nicest miata/ mx5 iv ever seen i love the design of your own 1 of 1 custom wheels i build model kits man this is inspiration for a mx5 miata roadster model kit iv got iv took some screen shots for reffrence i do 3D print model scale wheels for my models but ill find it hard to get the exact wheel cause its ur own 1 of 1 design and I don't create the stl files i just buy them then print out on my hobby 3D printer so ill have to settle for dome nice wheels to replicate this awsome car well done man car is beautiful great build bro well done👏👏👍👍👍

I'm assuming you mean that a 15x8"+ wheel would be too narrow for the rocket bunny kit (I would agree if this is the case). In any other non-widebody application, I would argue that anything wider than 8" is more detrimental to performance driving than beneficial. Unless you are very selective in your wheel choice (specifically offset), you can't fit anything wider than 8" under the fenders without running camber (Too much camber defeats the purpose of having a wider tire because only the inner portion of the tire has any noteworthy contact with the pavement). Specifically, in performance applications, this is no bueno. Obviously, if you are a member of the stance scene, this doesn't matter, but Miatas already run a bit more camber than needed when you drop it more than 1.5", so if you were to couple the naturally induced camber that comes with lowering a car with the need to run even more camber to fit a wider wheel you gain a net loss in grip (in most cases). You begin to introduce a lot of additional scrub radius as well and turn-in can suffer a bit because of this. Additionally, depending on your suspension set up and alignment, you may begin to encounter understeer which is no fun in a Miata. :/

Would it be possible to get rid of gap on air with some camber while driving to help with it being so soft while driving? Think I’m gonna run bags and a rocket bunny with some 15 x 12/13’s with some light tire stretch and negative camber for some more wheel well clearance.
So would you reccomend 15x9s Or do you think 16's are more set for this build? I want to get wheels that are light still, I was thinking some Rota Shakutans 15x9's but no clue if they would be "big enough" to make it look filled.

Those rims are beautiful but those lips those 👀! It's like mine when I picked it up, when I got it off of a guy he he put 4x100 on 15's.
I mounted the front part of my front flare lower onto the bumper and had a body shop reshape the flare and it took all the gap away.

The wheel size wouldn’t matter for how it “fills the gap” because you could always just get tires with more sidewalk that can fill in the gap just as well because the tire would still have the same outside diameter
It's not just filling the radius gap, its also width.
MASCUNANA BEAR you can get wide 15’s also though, and you made your own wheel so you could’ve just made a wide 15 for yourself, I was just saying about how you said the 16 fills the gap more I was only really talking about diameter before not just width
@@wyattorrante13 it's easy to speculate when you dont actually own the car. You can't simply just put more sidewall as mentioned because it will rub everywhere including the frame - not just the fenders. MIATAS need to stay around 23" to 23.5" OD. You can go 24" to 24.5" but you will have tons of issues as I did with my old wheels and R888R tires. I speak from experience - not theories.
MASCUNANA BEAR I was saying if you use a smaller diameter wheel you could use tires with a little more sidewall to make up for it and keep the same overall OD of the tire
@@wyattorrante13 that statement makes zero sense. My 16" wheel has 23.5" OD tires - how can you fill up the gap more with a 15" wheel with the same 23.5" OD? They have the same OD...16's will fill the gap more because you can go with a bigger OD tire. Most 15s are below 23.5" OD.

@OMGMIATA You seem pretty good at designing and building your own products, so maybe design and build a better set of fender flares with less wheel gap so the car doesn't have to be so slammed and is more usable.

@@OMGBUILDS actually loved to have it that low, at a point you just stop caring 🤷♂️😂 but I would never be able to run the rocketbunny front lip when i was that low, thats why it wasnt on back then, and I'm still rocking the stock spoiler because of the square look 🤷♂️😊 altho i love the drivability with the car now! I wont have to avoid pebbles 😂 oh, and if you run more camber like i did, you can get less of a wheel gap up front 👌🏻😊 (currently at the point where you are with my new setup)

The only thing that made no sense to me is that how in the world are you going to make 300whp from your turbo kit? I’m aware you went with the CARB legal FM kit and it only makes 180whp max. Now if you end up going standalone ecu and bigger injectors I suppose you could make that but then you should’ve just ordered the custom kit. Plus those giant tires and slammed ride height idk how well that kit is gonna move that car haha.
It's way more than just a Carb Legal turbo kit , I've covered it multiple times on countless installs on this channel.
