It’s nice to see a lot of appreciation for the Mazda influence on this car. The fact that it has a respectable OEM interior, and lots of parts from the Miata community makes me feel better about following the build. But JESUS! This guy put it all together in a month? What a baller! Must be nice! 😜
Now I would never spend 70kk to build or buy a Miata just because I'm not a Miata guy per say, but this is a beautiful build, with a very nice fit and finish. Great job. Definitely worth more than 70K all said and done

Like every other comment says, this is not a 70k miata. I get that he's spent about that, but it doesn't mean that's anywhere near what it's worth. Even with the turbo LSX that he says he's swapping in, I'd be amazed if it sold for over 25k. This is quite possibly the nicest, cleanest, somewhat simple miata I've ever seen, but let's be real about the price. It doesn't even have a full cage dude. The paint looks awesome but I could never even imagine spending 8500 to get a miata painted 2 shades off from the oem color. If you were honest with the title, I would have considered this a really great video
I have said it before and I say it again as a long time Miata owner (about 10 years). If you have a understanding of the worth of Miata parts you can't spend 70k. It's simply not possible, especially with the OEM engine. Of course you could do anything on your own and made out of carbon fiber and all shit. The Miata in this video is beautiful, without any questions but not worth anything near the 70k line. I think what costs the most is the shipping and the work itself. Maybe the parts are a lot more expensive in the US than in Europe but I've build Miatas in this kind of quality and not even scratch the 35k mark which is half of it. Sooo... It simply costs the dude more than it should have cost.

Nah 70k is right on the head if you go look at his actual mod list....and he's right 56k in parts and the rest would be if you paid a custom shop to do it. This could easily.... eeeaaasily be 70k...maybe more. That 56k in parts isnt even including shop markup on price and he estimates it at 400 man hours of labor which is only 35$ per hour shop rate, so realistically its a 90k+ miata minimum

i saw a mx5 mk1 with an sr20 turbo s15 clutch or smthn exhaust kit and a load more stuff making 320bhp can really remember most spec but it was like 4000 on donedeal in ireland

The only things of any real value (i.e. not the paint or brand new oem parts) that he actually spent money on were the seats (3k each), wheels (3k), coilovers (3500), control arms and BBK (~3500 combined). The rest was just a whole bunch of parts that were 1500 and under each, mostly around the 400-600 range

@tommyfyeah has a miata estimated at about 50k with a ton more work not saying this build isnt very nice but i do think the price is definitely off.
