Can you use a body grip trap as a foothold traps, sure. But is your Useing this to fall under foothold check laws, please do your homework in your state.
Clint, thanks. I fully understand what you are saying. Thanks for helping folks not get into issues with the law. However, you did give me a great idea, I have been out on the line, all coil springs out and all I had left was conibears. I could set the 110's just like a foothold! I have never thought of that. Thank you!
I can't remember if it's on the books but a game warden in Alabama told me they'll right you up for mis-use of a trap and (sometimes) start confiscating stuff
i used then this way for nucense pigeons , work gret w/ or w/out a pan attached caught lots of doubles too !!! really thinned them out . they are strong enough that if not secured they can fly off a bit .
I started trapping fox and coyote here in pa half way through last season and am doing it on public lands right now. I have done o.k. on the game paths that cut through the edge of the woods and really well on creek crossings for fox. but I know if I can get my traps closer to the main trails and fields i could really bring my numbers up. I've had 3 traps stolen last year from what I think is because I caught dogs that were not leashed and let run into the woods and into my sets. I've not seen a leashed dog since I've been trapping in the game lands. People look at me like im the one in the wrong for catching their pets and I look at them like they are in the wrong for letting them run durring hunting and trapping seasons. Any advice on how to get my sets a little closer to the trails and fields without catching pets?
great advise on the conibear trap use. we just put my husband's trapping video on youtube it's our first video. we trap in mississippi and he uses your beaver lure in the video . you can check it out at trapper dan's wild adventures 2019 2020 . enrager is awsome ,GREAT LURE.
Double check your laws but if you run a drowning rig it should be considered a killing type set. So that should get you the extra time as what a bodygrip would.
You went a little easy on this question Clint. If someone is contemplating a flagrantly unethical act he needs to be told to adjust his thinking.
Piss poor idea. We have enough trouble on the anti trapping front as it is.

Good point Clint. I agree completely.
Good call Clint.. Couldn't agree more..
Great advice! I’d have to agree that it’s intent is what would back fire on using it that way 👌

That is good advice there 👍 but i would have to say mr Dunlap had some dinosaurs in his last video that may work with 😁

Hey Clint, I cant find your camo corn solution. I cant find it at your website. Do you still make it?

Ive used conibears on rabbits and i cant get them to stay in the trap i got out there set off and hair in them no rabbit any suggestions?
Do you use off set or closed jaw traps. Does it really matter. What's your thought on it.
I like offset on coils. If you run 24 check not as important as western guys that run longer traplines.

I cant use body grips/coni's on land within a 1/4 mile of any dwelling in my state
Don't do it!!.. Muskrats, with 110's submerged on a pole. Yeah.
