I'm 58. My first concert was Van Halen on their Diver Down tour in the summer of 1982. We're talking the in-their-prime fire breathing dragon Van Halen. That concert was always my "best concert I've ever been to" show. Until three days ago in Knoxville, Tennessee. I FINALLY got to see Tool. That 1982 Van Halen concert has now been bumped to the #2 slot. After 41 years and countless concerts, Tool took the #1 slot. And I think it's safe to say, they will have that slot for the rest of my days. Peace.
I completely understand what you’re saying. My youngest daughter asked for tix and I got them. I missed Tool in the 90’s for whatever reason so I went in not knowing a single song and was freaking mesmerized by the time I left. I went down the TOOL rabbit hole the next day and still haven’t surfaced. Lol.
A renewed rendition in the same vein as opiate² would be.... rad. (Was at this show, greatest show ive seen of theirs aside from maybe the first when i saw them and came in not knowing any songs because my gf (now wife) liked them... that show opened me up to the band)
I was in the nosebleeds for this show, but it was indescribable. Perfect sound mix, visuals on the video board were absolutely mind blowing. This was my first TOOL show and I’ll be absolutely going again next time they are in town!
Drop kick murphys are another great group to watch from the nosebleed seats. Watching the crowd go wild from a safe distance is more entertaining then the stage show.
When it comes to TOOL live, you enter the 'no win' situation...sit up close or sit in the back seats and enjoy the video. I chose up close ( at the side) cuz I knew they're would be video from the back😅
, Its 30th anniversary of Undertow so they are playing songs from that. We have yet to hear Sober in upcoming gigs. But certanly Swamp Song is among legendary songs from Undertow.. Halloween edition of Swamp Song!
Was there, the sound quality was so much more immersive in person. So damn good this show was. Edited to add.. this is the only band i have ever thought of traveling to another state to see. Ive been to 50+ shows of at least 35 different bands and nothing even comes close to a Tool show.
The Milwaukee Show WAS THE FUCKEN BEST TooL CONCERT I'VE EVER WENT TO IN MY LIFE!!! WENT TO THE BOX OFFICE TO BUY TICKETS AND SOME GUY REPRESENTING THE OPENING GUY STEELE BEANS GAVE ME TO FLOOR DEAD CENTER 14th ROW I LOOKED UP THE TICKETS THEY WERE $3,500 EACH ON VIVID SEATS AND TICKETMASTER!!! WHAT A FUCKEN NIGHT MAN I AM SO LUCKY!!! THAT IS THE SECOND TIME THAT'S HAPPENED TO ME THE FIRST TIME WAS AT A RUSH CONCERT BACK IN 07
Looks like it's Undertow or Ænima this time around... 10,000 Days is getting the bulk of the catalog tracks this time around. If they play 12 songs we get a better shot but when they only play 11 it's either an Undertow track or an Ænima track.
Those heavy Les Paul’s finally wore Adams back out .. switched to Vs .. I saw a show few months ago , as he was walking off stage , he walked like someone with back problems
Went to the show in March if 2022 at Target Center. They didn’t play 46/2 or Aenema. Went to the Halloween show at Xcel and they didn’t play them again. Yet the next night in Milwaukee they closed with 46/2. They were both great shows but curious as to the song selection.
It's weird... I don't know why but some nights they play 11 songs and some nights 12... Very strange but what I am seeing is, the floaters so far are Intolerance or Swamp Song from Undertow and Stinkfist, 46 & 2 and Ænema from Ænima. 10 of the songs have been pretty solid all the way through (except I think one show they pulled Rosetta Stoned for Pushit) so if they only do 11 songs then we only get one of those 5 floaters. The cool thing is, the final song is one of the question mark tracks... nice to end the set with a surprise. When I saw them in 2019 it was guaranteed that the final song was gonna be Stinkfist. This time, I really don't know which song it will be. 😂
It wasn't until I watched a few of these shows, I realized, he does the same monologue at every show. That turns me off. Still, the music is always outstanding.
Super disappointing it was basically the same show as last year, they could have at least thrown in Aenima before the encore (and swapped Culling Voices for the Patient)
So Maynard's Lumpy Adams, Adam's a luchador, Justin's one of the dude's from the Purge, and Danny's a weirdo. Nice costumes boys. Way to showcase a song where the bass is cranking and getting one shot of the bass player.

They are sensational - glad you got to experience them while still in their prime. They currently hold my 1, 2 and 3 spots 😊🤘🏻
I’ve seen em 3 times, one of which was at Bonnaroo.
Every friggin time was amazing.
they're incredible. i've been lucky enough to see them more than a dozen times over the years, and I'm more and more grateful every time.
I was at that show. They were on fire.

THIS SONG IS BORN TO BE PLAYED LIVE!!
And LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad we got it hear in Minnesota, and on Halloween to boot!
How has he kept his voice in such good shape after all these years? I fucking love Undertow!
Tootsie Pops
It's amazing how he still sounds so good at 60 😮
I wonder why they never play Opiate?
@@sportsfix6975they do
They do play a lot of songs an octave lower to help Maynard out.
I'm happy they are playing this of late. Maynard sounds amazing. Love the costumes for Adam, Danny, and Justin. Maynard's always in costumes. LOL
This should be the one day a year he dresses normal like a stock broker or something

How much were the nose bleeds?
@@te9591 If I remember right, they were roughly $75 before fees
This was my first concert ever and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience
Video doesn’t do the justice that’s forsure the show was so amazing !!!!!!
BADASS! THANKS FOR THE SHARE AND POST!! 🤘🤘🤘
I was there so bad ass! Then saw them in millwakee the next night.I can't even put it into words how awesome it was. Thanks for this video!!
Cool to see them rotate this in live! Seeing them for my first time in Feb, can't wait....been listening to these guys since Jr High
Tasty guitar work by Adam Jones as always
The tootsie roll pause was fucking awesome! Haha!
I’m shaking that was so good and so pure. Thank you thank you thank you.
Adam is such a beast!
Undertow is still my fave record of theirs, love that they dusted this one off for this tour 🤘🏼
It was such a good show! Blew my mind!
One of my favorites from my adolescent days and performed absolutely amazingly! Tool = Talent/genius
That deep sinking sound at the start was so badass in person
That poor slide, Adam chucks it on the floor at least once a night
It'll be fine lol
F'n awesome as usual!!❤

I’m seeing them here in Charlotte in January and I’m hoping they play anything off of Undertow. Seriously……anything.
Even thought it's not my favorite song I would love to hear sober live.
They did sober in 2022, it was in the set when I saw them in Cleveland
@@beyer66same for Houston
Going to knoxville friday!!!!!!! Can't wait
Great video! We’ll be at the Knoxville show Friday night. Totally pumped!
Have fun!
Danny looks 85% more bad ass than usual.
Maynard sounds just as good as Undertows 92/93 Maynard here!
The timing coming out of that "tootsie-roll pop" interlude is a beautiful display of how synced up they are (1). 5:07
Nice to meet you at the show, hope you made it back home easy and your daughter enjoys the pick ;)
Had a great time!!

I was hoping for this song but never got it at the show I was at! Also I'm LOLing at Adam Jones playing a Dean 😂
Great! 🎃 TOOL Rules! 👽👻✌🤘💪🖖
This reminds me of being 15 again 🤘
I love Luchador Adam!
F***ing amazing concert last night! Looks like I was a few rows behind you.

I saw them on Halloween about 5 years back. The whole band dressed like Led Zeppelin.
It's usually always Halloween for Maynard :D
Most people that are always dressed Halloween dress "normal" on actual Halloween
fkn swamp song. alright, i'll watch this
Was there 🤘
Really hope they play this when I see them. Easily my fav off undertow. Sounded fuckin awesome too.
I was hoping for this but got intolerance. Not complaining. I did get to see part of me in 2019
Looks like Adam raided the Puscifer chest for his look
His costume is the singer from Puscifer, duh!
With Danny Carey wearing that mask it makes me wonder how awesome it would be if he played live with Slipknot.
They just fired their drummer, so it would work!
Woah
Wow and it’s tootsie pop lol haven’t heard this live in so long think 96
Killer!
They didn't play any Undertow songs in Winnipeg 😢 but it was still an amazing show!! Thanks for this video!!
My kids couldn't get the St Paul poster so they bought leftovers from Winnipeg 😂
Winnipeg got Winnipegged
Looks like it's Undertow or Ænima this time around... 10,000 Days is getting the bulk of the catalog tracks this time around.

we got intolerance in philly
This as an encore made for a memorable Tool show.. I had no chance of holding a camera still enough to get video..
Wish they would explore this metal style again on a future record! They been doing the same style since Lateralus!
I was at this show
Its only wrong if you get caught 😉 One of my favorite things Maynard ever said !
Those heavy Les Paul’s finally wore Adams back out .. switched to Vs .. I saw a show few months ago , as he was walking off stage , he walked like someone with back problems

it was sooooo loud.
Almost like being to a Toolknot/ Sliptool show
Why slipknot?
Neverending story atreyu and the horse
These guys don't even need to look at their instruments.
Looks like Adam is using 2 diezels?! I coulda sworn he switched to mesa’s live
Notice how maynard doesn't need a costume
wish they proshot some stuff
I saw several guys with video equipment. Don’t know if something is in the works, but there were definitely video guys down front and stage R/L.
@@jkelso44and it'll get released as soon as the Lateralus tour dvd is finished up 😂
Strange seeing Adam play a guitar that's not a silverburst Les Paul.
Isn’t it his custom Gibson Flying V? It sounded awesome when I heard him play Invincible on it
2:30
I wish Tool had more than one song.
It wasn't until I watched a few of these shows, I realized, he does the same monologue at every show. That turns me off. Still, the music is always outstanding.
I wish he wouldn't do the same "my 9 year old' joke
